Chapter Ninety-Four Arrangements

Xi Fu and Hua Tuo threw the chairs out and helped Wang Yao put them back in place. The three of them worked much faster, and in no time, the main debate hall was already in good condition, as if it was just waiting for the debaters and audience to take their seats.

"You guys take your time with your work, we'll go check out the seeded players' lounge."

Xi Fu greeted the busy Jiao Gu team members and walked towards one side of the studio area. As the walls were all in place, the area behind the cameras and light sources began to darken. Wang Yao saw Xi Fu open a small door in the darkness and wave to him.

A strong white light emanated from the small door. Wang Yao stepped inside and almost lost his sense of direction. It was a pure white space with no up, down, left, right, or any sense of direction. If Xi Fu and Hua Tuo hadn't come to his side one after the other, he probably would have become dizzy and fallen to the ground.

"This is a primitive space; they haven't finished working on it yet," Xi Fu murmured, looking around.

“You’re too hasty. You know Yang’s temper; he never does things in a chaotic order, always from big to small. He should still be busy with Prosperity Lane No. 2 right now; these spaces have only been roughly marked out,” Hua Tuo and Xi Fu said.

“Hmm,” Xi Fu nodded and looked at Wang Yao. “As the saying goes, everyone has their own expertise. Setting up spaces is Yang’s specialty. Jiao can do a little bit too, but the scope is limited. We can only watch helplessly.”

"No. 2 Prosperity Lane".

As he spoke, Xi Fu snapped his fingers again, and Wang Yao found himself back in Fanrong Lane. This time they went a little deeper, seemingly right at the entrance of Wang Yao's building. Wang Yao looked towards the alley entrance and could see four paper figures walking around there.

"Old Yang, no need to bother over there. Just make a mirror image. People coming in can go into the rest room at the front of the alley," Xi Fu called out towards the depths of the alley.

“The space is only so big, there’s not much room for anything fancy. I’ll get the last bit done, and the back wall of the space will definitely be a mirror image.” Yang Gu’s voice came from deep within.

"Should we also have some people moving around here?" Wang Yao asked.

"Of course, we have to wait until Yang Gu is done. The space isn't completely stable yet, and the paper figures could easily disrupt Yang Gu's work," Xi Fu and Wang Yao explained.

With the busy work of several immortals, Prosperity Lane No. 2, the main debate hall, and the other six sub-debate halls, as well as the seed contestants' lounge, the workers' lounge, and other spaces were gradually prepared, and the sky began to slowly brighten.

Wang Yao only saw James and Huang Li running around happily in No. 2 Prosperity Lane, people coming and going, and Zhen Huai sitting at the entrance of the building, still selling eggs. Everything was no different from the Prosperity Lane in his memory, but the interior was extremely different.

Entering No. 2 Prosperity Lane from the alley entrance, after walking less than ten meters, there is a street-facing shop that used to sell milk tea. Now, pushing open the door, you'll find a small tea room with long tables and benches, and tea, snacks, and candies on the table. This is a rest area for casual workers.

Pushing open a door on the inner side of the break room leads to the corridor. Going up the corridor, you'll find debate rooms on both the left and right.

About ten meters further on from the workers' break room, you'll reach the seed players' break room, located in the real Prosperity Lane. It used to be a hair salon, but now it's furnished with a few rattan chairs, some partitions, and soothing music, making it elegant and quiet.

On some carved wooden tea tables and decorations, there are also snacks and treats. In the center of the room is a tea table carved from an old tree root, with a few wooden stools scattered around it. On the tea table, a pot of tea is steaming.

Pushing open the back door of the seeded players' lounge, you're directly in the main debate hall. At this moment, the audience seats in the main debate hall are already full of men and women, all intently watching the empty broadcasting booth.

Cameras, arranged at varying heights, are constantly moving around the main debate hall.

At this moment, a group of immortals gathered in Debate Hall 2, discussing the arrangement of the sub-debate rooms. There were no strict rules for casual labor; whether or not they filmed television, they just took the money and left. Therefore, Hua Tuo strongly advocated for a simple decoration for Debate Halls 2 through 7, since there would be a lot of people coming and going quickly.

However, Yang Gu and Jiao Gu always felt that the lack of ritual would allow the professor's clone to detect the loophole, thereby arousing the professor's vigilance. If the professor really wanted to escape, they would have no way to keep him here.

“It’s better to sit down. Standing up makes you feel like you’re about to fight, while sitting down makes you less aggressive,” Xi Fu said, frowning as he summarized. “But it can’t be an office desk. If the professor’s clone sits behind the desk, the part-time workers will look like they’re asking for a favor…”

"Their momentum is naturally suppressed, so what's the point of arguing?"

The other immortals nodded in agreement with what Xi Fu said, finding it to be true.

"Um... I reckon even if the professor's clone enters this debate hall, he might not actually sit down," Wang Yao said, scratching his head as he interjected.

"Oh? What do you mean?" The immortals looked at Wang Yao.

"What I mean is, decorate debate halls 2 through 7 just like the teahouse downstairs. When the workers arrive, they can wait in the teahouse first. With the same environment, the atmosphere won't be affected. Moving the professor's clone to the teahouse will also make him less wary than going to a private space."

"Moreover, whether sitting or standing, debating in a teahouse is fair to both sides. The professor's clone also has the problem of adapting to sudden spatial changes, so relatively speaking, the part-time worker has an advantage," Wang Yao said.

“That makes sense. Being thoughtful can be a virtue sometimes,” Xi Fu nodded repeatedly. Hua Tuo, Jiao Gu, and the others also thought Wang Yao was right, and immediately busied themselves with decorating again.
