Chapter Thirteen: Spiritual Power

"Fifth brother, hurry up and send some vegetables to the Lotus Pond Avenue store... I don't know what vegetables to send, just send some fresh and seasonal ones, not too much, just enough for one table to eat, no one goes there anyway."

"Sixth Brother, hurry up and send some meat to the Hetang Avenue store... I don't know what kind of meat to send, just send whatever meat they have, don't send too much..."

"Seventh Brother, hurry up and arrange for a few chefs to come to the Lotus Pond Avenue branch. How would I know what kind of chefs we need, or what we have...? Not too many, just enough to cook a whole table of dishes..."

"Eighth Brother..."

Chen Ke quickly made a few phone calls to arrange things and finally breathed a sigh of relief. When she looked back, she found that Wang Yao had disappeared at some point. She quickly craned her neck and looked around.

The two had now left the most crowded section of the road, and the number of people on the street was gradually decreasing. She glanced around and saw Wang Yao standing in front of a teahouse by the roadside, hesitating, as if he wanted to go in but dared not.

Is...is this kid hungry? But...that's not a place to eat, is it?

Chen Ke was puzzled, unaware that Wang Yao was looking up at the words displayed by the system next to the teahouse: "Ordinary building, sturdiness 100-100, spiritual power: meager."

This was the first time Wang Yao had seen words displaying spiritual power on a building since acquiring the Matchmaker System. Although it was only "meager," it was still more hopeful than "none."

He now has a certain understanding of the Matchmaker System. Skill points don't matter, they only increase and never decrease. The most useful thing is spiritual power. Improving one's cultivation level requires spiritual power. If one wants to cheat by using the red thread, one also needs to exchange spiritual power for mana. Even if one uses the wrong skill, spiritual power will still be deducted.

But he has no way to accumulate spiritual power right now. He has experienced the feeling of running out of spiritual power once, and he has no intention of trying it a second time.

Moreover, the system only gives 100 points of spiritual power for each level up, which is hardly enough to do anything, so how to obtain spiritual power has become a major concern for Wang Yao.

Upon seeing the words "Slightly Low Spiritual Power" on the sign of the teahouse, he was eager to go in and take a look, wondering if he could obtain some spiritual power. He checked his pockets and found he didn't have a single penny. However, he figured it shouldn't cost him anything to just go in and take a look.

Wang Yao was tentatively taking a step into the teahouse when he suddenly felt his body lighten as someone lifted him by the back of his neck. As the teahouse receded further and further away, he couldn't help but shout angrily.

"Hey! Go eat your food, I'm in my own teahouse, why are you dragging me around?"

Chen Ke ignored Wang Yao's protests, grabbed him and walked quickly for a while, then hailed a passing taxi and headed straight for Hetang Avenue.

Wang Yao shoved Chen Ke into the taxi, feeling both shocked and angry, but his determination to cultivate immortality had unknowingly become even stronger.

You have to understand, he's an immortal! Yet he couldn't resist a single bit of resistance from a mortal fat woman. He secretly vowed that once he achieved immortality, besides Xi Da Zui Ba, he would also teach this fat woman a good lesson.

Little did he know that Chen Ke had no choice but to bring him along. Chen Ke understood his ancestor's temperament. Although the boy had been busy at the Waterloo Mansion that morning and hadn't been able to help much, he had still gone with his ancestor.

If I don't bring this kid along, the patriarch will definitely come looking for me before the meal, and I'll still be busy and it will delay things. It's better to bring him now to save trouble. Anyway, I'm going to treat the patriarch to a meal. Whether he comes or not, it's just a matter of adding or subtracting a pair of chopsticks.

The two sat in the taxi. Wang Yao was sulking, and Chen Ke didn't bother with him. They each looked out one side of the car window. As they looked, Wang Yao's expression gradually changed. He noticed that the further the taxi drove into the suburbs, the more spiritual energy appeared on the buildings.

"There's such a thing? So spiritual energy has to be found in this desolate wilderness?" Wang Yao thought to himself. However, as the taxi moved further away from the city and the buildings became fewer and fewer, Wang Yao dared not conclude that his guess was correct.

With a sharp "screech," the taxi stopped in front of a cluster of buildings. Wang Yao saw Chen Ke pay the fare and get out of the car first. Knowing that they had arrived at their destination, he followed suit. In front of them was a vermilion gate, in front of which were two imposing luxury cars with striking colors.

Without a doubt, this must be the car that Wei Dafa and Chen Ke drove. Wei Dafa probably didn't use his own car to have their affair, and Chen Ke must have left in a hurry this morning and didn't have time to drive. Now that the matter is over, she still needs to save face.

Now that Wang Yao is an immortal, he no longer feels envious of such mundane things as he used to. He just glances at them casually before looking up to examine the building in front of him.

At first glance, the interlaced double-eaved, hip-roofed buildings looked like a temple complex. Looking down further, the yellow-walled, black-tiled buildings resembled temples even more, except that instead of statues of Buddhas, they were filled with tables, chairs, and benches.

Directly opposite Wang Yao's vermilion gate, in the place where the main hall of the temple is located, hangs a red plaque. On it are three large, golden characters: "Le Kou Fu" (乐口福). Slightly to the lower right, there is another line of smaller golden characters: "He Tang Avenue Store" (荷塘大道店).

Upon seeing the plaque, Wang Yao became somewhat excited, because beside it were several lines of smaller text provided by the system: "Ordinary building, sturdiness 100-100, spiritual power: some."

"Several" seems a bit more sophisticated than "microblog," Wang Yao thought to himself as he followed Chen Ke through the gate.

"Tap tap tap..."
