Struggle District Police Station? Wang Yao only knew that he lived in Happiness District. Struggle District? It was probably not close. He didn't have any magic or light-footed skills to travel. He scratched his head and saw that he still had a little money left from the money he had just withdrawn. It should be enough for a one-way taxi fare.
Gritting his teeth, Wang Yao turned around and walked downstairs. This unlucky matchmaker, he had to work for free on his first day of work. Who could he complain to?
After going downstairs and passing through Fanrong Lane, we arrived at Fuqiang North Road. The lights in Zheng Yunzhi's shop were already on, but Li Zhongxiao was nowhere to be seen. He must have gone to retrieve the Five Purification Cauldrons.
Wang Yao flagged down a taxi on the roadside and asked about the fare in detail. The taxi driver was a bit helpless. It was clearly a matter of using the meter, but he insisted on asking all sorts of questions. It seems that this guy has been scammed too many times and his self-protection awareness has become a bit inflated.
The taxi drove to the vicinity of the police station in the Struggle District. Wang Yao kept his eyes on the meter the whole way. The driver could only give an approximate figure, around 20 yuan. But Wang Yao only had 21 yuan and 3 mao in his pocket. If they got into a fight over a few mao at the destination, Wang Yao was a man of honor and couldn't afford to lose face.
Seeing the meter read 21 yuan, Wang Yao hurriedly shouted, "Stop the car!" This nearly gave the driver a heart attack, and he slammed on the brakes to stop the car.
Wang Yao paid the bill, got out of the car, and looked at the police station in front of him. It looked quite imposing, probably twenty or thirty stories high, but it was surrounded by a high wall, so he couldn't see what was inside.
"Ordinary building, 100-100, spiritual power: none." Upon seeing the system notification, Wang Yao felt that this police station building was no different from his own residential house in the Prosperity Lane community.
However, this place is quite remote, and everything looks dark under the streetlights. Not far away, a small shop selling cigarettes and alcohol is open listlessly.
He had only taken two steps toward the gate of the police station, which was adorned with two dimly lit red lanterns, when a sharp shout suddenly rang out from the darkness.
"Wang Yao?"
Wang Yao looked in the direction of the sound and saw a hunchbacked old man emerge from the shadows by the wall. He stared intently at him, his eyes gleaming.
After what happened with Xi Da Zui Ba, Wang Yao now feels an urge to shudder whenever he sees an old man, let alone in such a dark environment. He nodded to the old man without saying a word.
"Remember, once you're inside, you're Dr. Wang. If they catch a man, just insist he has body fetishism, understand? Use whatever reason you have, as long as the constables believe you." Seeing Wang Yao nod, the old man rushed to him and hurriedly gave him instructions.
"You...you are Hua Gu?" Wang Yao was completely bewildered, staring blankly at the hunchbacked old man. He thought to himself, "I hope I don't fall into the trap these old guys have dug for me again. I'm clearly the matchmaker, from the marriage management department. He's asking me to pretend to be a doctor, but I don't know how to treat patients."
"I am Hua Tuo, let's go in quickly..." The old man gave a few simple instructions, took Wang Yao's hand, and walked into the police station. Although the old man's name was descriptive, Wang Yao didn't understand why and refused to go in.
“Hua...Hua stock...wait a minute…” Wang Yao struggled to call out.
"Keep your voice down, don't call me 'Hua Gu' (a lowly section chief). You're not going to scare the constables inside. Just call me 'Doctor Hua' (a doctor)." Hua Tuo turned his face and replied.
"Explain yourself clearly before you go in," Wang Yao said, frowning.
"What's there to say? Even if you just rescue someone, you'll still earn merit. Stop babbling and hurry up! I just heard the constables cursing inside; they must be getting impatient." With a few words, Hua Tuo pulled Wang Yao through the gate of the police station without further ado.
Once inside the walled gate, Wang Yao discovered that the police station building had rows of neat parking spaces with a few police cars parked sparsely. The first floor was lit up, and the building itself looked clean and tidy, somewhat like a bank or financial center.
There was a sign hanging at the entrance on the first floor of the building, and inside, there was a large slogan on the wall that seemed to say something like "Eliminate riots and eradicate evil".
The camel ran very fast. Before Wang Yao could get a good look, he was pulled into a room on the first floor. There, he saw a young woman standing in the center of the room, blushing and stammering. A group of constables were sitting around her, chatting and laughing, and he didn't know what they were talking about.
There was another man with one arm dangling from the windowsill in the corner of the room, squatting there with his head down, looking quite strange. In front of the man, on the ground, there was a colorful mess of things scattered about; Wang Yao had entered in a hurry and hadn't seen what they were.
"Is that larger one yours too?" a constable asked.
"I just bought one this morning, washed it at noon and threw it away, so I had to... the store only had large sizes left..." the woman stammered.
"Why do you change your underwear every half day? What's the point of being so diligent?" another constable asked with a cheerful laugh, not at all like the angry Hua Tuo had been talking about.
“…We should…be hygienic…” the woman said, her face downcast.
"Oh, so washing makes you healthier, right?" One of the constables seemed to suddenly realize something, and his words made all the constables in the room burst into laughter, extremely happy.
"Um... Dr. Wang is here, Dr. Wang is here! He really is sick and needs treatment! This Dr. Wang's ancestors were old military doctors who specialized in treating difficult and complicated diseases. You should listen to what he has to say."
Hua Tuo shouted as soon as he entered the room. Several constables looked disappointed when they saw the old man come in. The woman saw Hua Tuo as if she had seen a savior and hurriedly went to greet Hua Tuo and Wang Yao.
"Dr. Hua is here, I should go now. He... he's sick, so take him to get treatment. I... I won't sue him, and I don't want any compensation..." As she spoke, the woman tried to leave.
