Chapter 279 The Return Journey

"Let them fight if they want, what does it have to do with me?" Qinghe said, but still followed Wang Yao out, then turned back to Qin Su with reluctance. "Sister Susu, I'll go back to the clan with the coward first, and come find you to play after we're done."

"But...how...how are you going to the Shu tribe?" Qin Su stared at Wang Yao with continued worry, unable to relax.

"Don't worry, there's a direct bus from Liang to Shu, so your cowardly older brother won't get lost." Qinghe waved her hand dismissively at Qin Suman. "And don't forget, when I come back, you'll have to alter my clothes!"

"Okay, I'll definitely make it look beautiful for you." Qin Su finally smiled upon hearing this.

"Get on." Wang Yao and the other person exited the Mud Pillar Building. Qing He's figure slowly rose from the entrance of the Mud Pillar Building and turned to look at Wang Yao.

"Um...where...where do I stand?" Wang Yao asked blankly.

"You really are a coward? If you won't stand next to me, do you want to stand on my head?" Qinghe scolded.

Wang Yao glanced down and saw that Qin Su's figure had already left the Mud Pillar Building. Below them was the base radiating from the steep cone of the Mud Pillar Building, and the distance looked terrifyingly high. How far was "near" her? If he stood too far away, wouldn't he fall off?

However, Wang Yao smiled slightly, added the word "Immortal Travel" to his name, and then his body rose into the air, slowly approaching Qinghe.

"How about it? Is this distance about right?" Wang Yao asked Qing He with a smile.

"You can fly? Then why are you lying to people?" Qinghe asked, glaring at Wang Yao.

"Although I'm flying, my speed is still like this, slower than walking," Wang Yao explained to Qinghe, somewhat embarrassed.

"Then you have to train! As a fairy, there are risks everywhere. You can lose your life in the blink of an eye. You can't just eat, drink, and have fun all day long! Mountains may crumble, rivers may dry up. You can only rely on yourself for everything, understand?"

As Qinghe moved, Wang Yao felt the surrounding scenery change rapidly, but Qinghe's reprimanding voice continued to ring in his ears.

Wang Yao suddenly realized that his "Immortal Journey" skill should also be able to level up, and his movement speed would probably increase after leveling up. However, he had put all his level-up points into "Good People".

Should he allocate some to "Immortal Travel"? Wang Yao really couldn't make up his mind. His "Good Person" ability lasted for 25 minutes, which should be enough in theory. As long as he had spiritual power, he could just keep replenishing it and keep going.

However, Xi Fu once said that in the past, the matchmaker would usually add 60 or even 600 points to the "good person" status, which means that the "good person" status should ideally last for one hour or even ten hours. Why is that?

Time was tight at the time, so Xi Fu didn't explain, but Wang Yao took it to heart. Afterwards, he added all his upgrade points to "good people". Now that he thinks about it, he should have added some points to speed and combat as well, otherwise he would be like a lame duck.

Aside from being invincible, he's not good at anything, which is frustrating. Damn it, the main problem is that leveling up is too slow. If I could just become a Nascent Soul cultivator all at once, wouldn't I have tons of leveling points and wouldn't be so conflicted?

Lost in thought, Wang Yao watched as Qinghe flew out of the territory of Muyi City, her body soaring through the air, riding the wind, truly enjoying herself immensely.

This was only because they had already obtained Lady Lian's approval, allowing them to travel smoothly without any obstacles or obstruction from any Yi tribe warriors. Otherwise, they would likely have been captured and interrogated as spies by the guards of the various Yi tribe cities they passed through.

The feeling of soaring freely in the air was extremely exhilarating, easily giving Wang Yao the illusion that he and Qinghe were the only ones existing in the sky and on earth.

As the two flew, Qinghe's altitude suddenly dropped rapidly, and the jungle and rivers on the ground slowly reappeared in Wang Yao's field of vision.

"What's wrong?" Wang Yao was flying happily and thought Qinghe had discovered something amiss, so he hurriedly asked.

"What's wrong? My magic power is limited, and I'm carrying such a heavy coward like you. I'm tired and need to rest and eat!" Qinghe said irritably.

Qinghe had been flying for most of the day, and now that it was dark, she really needed to rest.

The two landed on the edge of a jungle, next to a pond surrounded by bushes and grass. As soon as Wang Yao's feet touched the ground, the sounds of frogs and insects all around rushed into his ears. He was surprised to find that it seemed to be the height of summer in the demon realm.

Since becoming an immortal, Wang Yao's sense of the changing seasons has become much dulled. Immortals are unaware of the cold and heat, so Wang Yao gradually neglected his perception of nature and focused solely on the task at hand.

Having flown through the sky for half a day, Qinghe felt somewhat relaxed. Upon returning to the ground, he immediately experienced the wonder of the world outside.

A crescent moon hung in the sky. Wang Yao took a deep breath of fresh air and couldn't help but look up at the sky and let out a long, comfortable sigh.

"Do you have to make such a big fuss when you're breathing? Don't attract the ferocious beasts, or I won't be able to protect you then," Qinghe said discontentedly.

"Um... I don't need to..." Wang Yao subconsciously wanted to be polite to her, but then he realized that this girl was mocking him with his own words, and couldn't help but laugh.

Qinghe ignored Wang Yao and went to the edge of the forest to find a flat patch of grass to sit down. She then took out a large piece of jerky from her body and silently took a big bite.

Wang Yao watched Qinghe's figure, feeling slightly puzzled. He still didn't understand why Qinghe would rather endure danger outside than go home.
