Chapter 1 A Fleeting Spring Dream

The night is still and quiet.

Outside the clean window, all was thick, sticky blackness.

Boom—

A bolt of lightning struck the window, and a torrential downpour followed, causing the branches and leaves to tremble violently.

Startled by the deafening roar of thunder, the wooden window frames began to creak, and all of this happened so suddenly.

It seems to have nothing to do with the ambiguous atmosphere inside the room.

In the center of the room, there is a large white bed.

Two figures were locked in a fierce struggle.

The two ignored the deafening roar outside the window.

On the messy bed, he gently grasped her pale, bony wrist and lowered his trembling eyelashes.

The person beneath him had relaxed delicate eyebrows, closed clear, cool eyes, and exhaled softly through pearly teeth.

After a while, his eyes narrowed, and he lowered his head to kiss her lips, his teasing voice forced out from between his teeth.

"Shuyi...Shuyi...Shuyi..."

He called her name over and over again.

It sounded like a soft moan, or perhaps an answer, and it also escaped from her throat in a suppressed manner.

Her rapid breathing made his breathing quicken, and he immediately released his arms that were supporting him on either side of her.

He gripped the back of her head tightly, struggling to pull away from her lips, and tightened his strong forearm around her.

He easily lifted the hem of her skirt, and his palm began to roam freely over her slender waist.

Seeing her alluring appearance, he continued to kiss her deeply, then moved his hand down to where it should be.

Disordered breathing, burning passion.

Everything stems from emotion...

Buzzing—

A sudden vibration sounded beside my ear.

Startled awake by the tremor, Zhang Youye slowly opened his eyes.

Turning my head, I saw that there was no one beside me.

He kicked away the pillow that was stuck under him, got halfway up the bed, smacked his lips a few times, looking utterly bored that his good show had been interrupted.

Frustrated, he scratched the back of his head, glanced down at his crotch, and blurted out, "Damn, just a little bit more."

Who says spring dreams leave no trace?

What are the traces that catch the eye?

Glancing to the side with a dazed look, the phone that had interrupted the good show was still flashing and vibrating in front of her eyes.

While pondering how to deal with the beast on the other end of the phone who had interrupted the good show, Zhang Youye's Adam's apple bobbed inwardly. He picked up his phone and saw that the caller was none other than his second uncle.

"Second Uncle, what's wrong?" he answered the phone.

Are you still staying at a hotel?

He gave a slow, deliberate "hmm," then shifted his position, leaning casually against the headboard: "Second Uncle, my dad..."

Before he could finish speaking, Zhang Zhiting interrupted him on the other end of the phone: "Don't say so much, I'm on my way to Jiacheng now. Pack your things, and as soon as I pick you up, we'll head back to Jingnan."

They've all come to Jiaxing to hide, but they still can't escape the arranged marriage.

“Back to Jingnan? This time you have to come and arrest me personally. What do you want me to take back? Is it for another marriage alliance?” Zhang Youye pressed.

"Stop nagging. I told you to come back, so come back. How long do you plan to stay there? You're a grown man, all you do is play all day long. Don't you really plan to get married? Let me tell you, this time your dad said he'll tie you up and bring you back, even if he has to."

After saying that, my second uncle hung up the phone.

As the phone notification sounded quietly beside his ear, Zhang Youye's face remained cold in the darkened room.

After a moment of silence, he picked up his phone again, quickly found a number, and dialed it back.

The phone was answered after only one ring. Zhang Youye asked in a deep voice, expressionless, "How long has it been? There's still no new information from the person I asked you to find?"

"Not yet, I don't know where she went. Young Master You, could you give me a little more time?"

Too lazy to listen to such useless nonsense, Zhang Youye interrupted the other person before they could finish speaking.

"Find her quickly, time is of the essence. Even if you have to turn the whole world upside down, you have to find her for me."

"Young Master You, I understand, but it's really too tricky."

The other party's words were too euphemistic, but Zhang Youye ignored them and said in a deep voice, "No matter the cost, you must find her for me," before hanging up the phone.
