One hour later.
Passing through the sea of flowers at the entrance, the Rolls-Royce slowly drove into the garden.
The garden was brightly lit, and staff carrying trays of food came and went, making it as bustling as daytime.
After checking the time, Shu Yi pointed to the crowd coming and going in the dining room ahead, her face showing embarrassment.
"Am I bothering your family too much? It's so late, and they..."
"Alright, my young mistress."
Interrupting her, Zhang Youye pulled her hand into his palm, giving her a sense of security.
"Only you deserve this honor."
After a pause, Zhang Youye chuckled and added, "If it were me, I would have just given you a bowl of noodles."
Following Zhang Youye, we passed through the hall and were led by him into the reception hall for guests.
Until they saw the entire Zhang family sitting upright around the long table, smiling at the two of them.
After gently freeing herself from Zhang Youye's grasp and nodding to the others, Shu Yi looked apologetic.
"Uncle Zhang, Second Uncle, Aunt, I'm sorry to bother you so late. I didn't even bring a gift, I'm really sorry."
A girl who knows proper etiquette and is polite is always a source of joy for elders.
The maids who had already entered the Zhang family were especially delighted to see this.
Receiving her elder brother's smiling gaze, Zhang Ningying got up and pulled Shuyi to sit down on a dining chair.
Pointing to Zhang Huaiyi sitting to one side, Zhang Ningying turned around and glared at the nonchalant Zhang Youye.
"You naughty boy, Youye! If we hadn't forced your brother to tell the truth, we would still be in the dark about you getting a marriage certificate with Yiyi. Why didn't you tell us?"
As she spoke, Zhang Ningying patted Shu Yi's shoulder lightly, her tone tinged with reproach.
"Yiyi, my child, so what if Grandpa is in the hospital? When has our Zhang family ever cared about what others think? Ignore those gossips. Starting today, you're moving into our Zhang family home!"
“Yes, and let’s pick a good day to hold the wedding.” Zhang Zhiting chimed in from the side.
He sat down in the empty seat next to Shu Yi and glanced at Zhang Huaiyi across from him, who had an expression that said "it has nothing to do with me".
Frowning in displeasure, he kicked the treacherous traitor under the table to vent his anger.
After venting his anger, Zhang Youye held Shuyi's hand again and slowly and methodically refuted his second uncle's words.
"Second Uncle, there's no rush for the wedding."
"Why aren't you in a hurry? You two have already gotten your marriage certificates, aren't you in a hurry?" Zhang Zhitin pressed.
A soft cough suddenly sounded beside them.
Looking in the direction of the sound, Zhang Jinnan, who should have been sitting in the main seat, had already stood up.
He walked over to the two of them and handed the family heirloom to Shu Yi.
"Yiyi, this is a family heirloom that our Zhang family gives to its daughters-in-law. Now that you've married into the family, according to the rules, this should be passed on to you. Take it."
Seeing Zhang Youye's gesture for her to take it, Shu Yi readily accepted, saying, "Thank you, Uncle."
"Still calling him Uncle?" Zhang Ningying teased with a smile. "Yiyi, it's time to change how you address him."
Noticing that even Zhang Huaiyi, sitting opposite her, had a look of anticipation on his face, Shu Yi could tell that the Zhang family was very sincere and looking forward to her joining them.
With the mindset of "marrying a chicken, follow the chicken; marrying a dog, follow the dog," and since we're already here, there's no need to be coy.
Desperate, Shu Yi closed her eyes, steeled her resolve, and shouted, "Thank you, Dad!"
A soft "pfft" sounded beside her ear. Shu Yi opened her eyes slightly and bumped right into Zhang Youye, who had a mischievous grin on his face. She instinctively punched him in the chest.
"What are you laughing at?" she asked helplessly.
"I'm laughing at how you called out 'Dad,' it sounded like you were ready to die for it."
After teasing his wife, whose ears were turning red, Zhang Youye leaned back lazily in his chair, one hand on the back and the other outstretched towards his father.
"He's already called me 'Dad,' so where's my wife's 'change of address fee'?"
He glared at his son with a dark expression, then, as if changing his face, smiled and accepted his daughter-in-law's call of "Dad." Zhang Jinnan gave Zhang Zhiting a look.
Zhang Zhiting pulled a card from his pocket and handed it to Shu Yi: "Yi Yi, this is a token of our Zhang family's appreciation. Don't worry, we will show you all the proper etiquette. Now we're just waiting for you to hold your wedding."
"Zhiting, let the children decide on the wedding arrangements."
Returning to his seat, Zhang Jinnan gestured to Shu Yi to accept the bank card, then picked up his teacup and took a small sip.
"Yiyi, I know you want to wait for Grandpa to wake up so he can see you get married. Don't worry, we respect your wishes and will talk about it after Grandpa wakes up."
Everyone was waiting for Grandpa to announce the marriage at the banquet so that the wedding could proceed smoothly, but no one expected so many things to happen that night.
As the head of the five major families, the Zhang family's willingness to make such a concession for Shu Yi truly moved her.
With tears welling up in her eyes, Shu Yi took the bank card, looked up to meet Zhang Jinnan's gaze, and smiled as she thanked him.
"Thank you, Dad, for your understanding. And thank you to my second uncle and aunt as well."
Upon hearing this, Zhang Zhiting took out another card from his pocket and handed it to Shu Yi: "Yi Yi, we're family, no need to be so polite. This is your second uncle's token of appreciation, please take it."
Then, as if by magic, Zhang Ningying pulled out a card from behind her back and handed it to her with a beaming smile.
"Yes, don't be so polite with us. We're family, no need to be so formal. Take this card and buy whatever you like. Some luxury items will be delivered from home tomorrow; would you like to help your aunt pick them out?"
Helping his wife take the cards one by one and stuff them into Shu Yi's backpack, Zhang Youye urged her helplessly.
"Alright, this isn't the time to show off your money. Can't we eat? My wife is already hungry. Do you want her to starve to death?"
Upon hearing this, everyone quickly picked up food and ladled soup, even squeezing the two brothers into a corner of the table.
Looking at Shu Yi, who was surrounded and had a look of bewilderment, Zhang Huaiyi took out a tissue and elegantly wiped his mouth, but he was speechless.
"Look at them, it's really outrageous. They're trying to feed your wife like a pig."
The infatuated smile that had been fixed on Shu Yi vanished, and Zhang Youye kicked him again, his face darkening with a warning.
"Are you calling someone's wife a pig? Are you looking for trouble?"
After mentally ranting about this possessive, twisted, love-obsessed person, Zhang Huaiyi stood up.
Just as he was about to turn and leave, Zhang Youye, whose expression suddenly changed, reached out and grabbed him.
"What's wrong?" he asked, turning his head.
