People are at their most distressed moment.
They always need some comforting words.
Having supported each other for so many years, seeing Shu Chuanran still unconscious, Shu Qianxin, as his younger sister, naturally felt very distressed.
So much has happened in just a few days, which is why Shu Chuanran is now lying in the hospital room in order to save Shu Yi.
But these days, apart from the doctor and my grandfather coming in to visit, no one else has stepped into this ward.
As for the so-called mother, she hasn't even made a single phone call to inquire about the situation since the incident.
Too.
The Qin family was thrown into chaos by Zhang Youye.
How could she possibly have the time to inquire about her unrelated adopted son and daughter?
Now, alone with her unconscious brother, Shu Qianxin is utterly powerless.
Zhang Youye's words of comfort undoubtedly gave her hope of surviving on this deserted island.
With red eyes, Shu Qianxin got up and sat down on the sofa, opening the lunchbox from the food bag.
Whether it was because of the food or Zhang Youye's comfort, Shu Qianxin's trembling eyes were filled with bright emotion, and her voice was extremely choked with sobs.
"Thank you, Brother Yuno."
“My mom hasn’t called me once in the past two days. My grandpa told me not to worry about her anymore, but I’m really scared. I’m so afraid that my brother will die and leave me all alone.”
Without turning to look at Shu Qianxin, Zhang Youye picked up the report from the foot of the bed and looked at it.
"Your brother only has an arm injury and a mild concussion, how could he possibly die? Don't scare yourself."
"But, but..."
Interrupting her hesitation, Zhang Youye was about to turn and leave when he noticed that Shu Chuanran's fingertips, which were resting steadily on the hospital bed, twitched.
In a moment of desperation, he pressed the emergency call button by his bedside.
"What's wrong? My brother is awake?" Hearing the noise, Shu Qianxin hurriedly got up and came to the bedside, asking.
The moment the words left his mouth, Shu Chuanran, who had been unconscious on the hospital bed, finally slowly opened his eyes.
Unexpectedly, the first thing I saw when I woke up from my coma was Zhang Youye.
Frowning impatiently, Shu Chuanran asked in a hoarse voice, "What's going on? Why are you in front of me?"
"Who else could it be but me?" Zhang Youye rolled his eyes, equally speechless. "Could it be Shu Yi guarding this place? Keep dreaming."
I couldn't understand the ambiguous conversation between the two.
Concerned about Shu Chuanran's injuries, Shu Qianxin asked anxiously, "Brother, you're finally awake. How are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"
Seeing Shu Qianxin appear before him unharmed, Shu Chuanran smiled and said, "You seem alright. Pour me a glass of water first."
After Shu Chuanran finished drinking a glass of water through a straw, the on-duty doctor pushed open the door and entered the ward.
After completing a series of examinations and confirming that there were no lasting effects, the doctor advised, "Young Master Chuanran, you are now in the same situation as the Second Miss. You just need to rest and recover in the hospital."
"Remember not to push yourself; it takes at least a month for a hand injury to heal."
Nodding in agreement, Shu Chuanran watched the doctor leave, then glanced at Shu Qianxin and said with concern, "It's so late, Grandpa must be asleep. Don't tell him I woke up. You haven't rested well either, go back and get some sleep, and come see me again tomorrow."
Shu Qianxin wanted to refuse, but then she heard Zhang Youye's indifferent voice beside her.
"Go back, I'll take care of things at the hospital, everything will be fine."
It was clear that the two had something to talk about. Shu Qianxin placed a cushion behind Shu Chuanran and nodded in agreement.
"Okay, brother, I'll come see you again tomorrow morning. The doctor said you can't eat greasy food, so I'll bring you some light food tomorrow."
After seeing Shu Qianxin out the door and signaling the bodyguards outside to escort her home safely, Shu Chuanran returned to the bedside. Before Zhang Youye could speak, Shu Chuanran suddenly held up two fingers and gestured in front of him.
"Having a craving for cigarettes?"
Despite his words, Zhang Youye shook a cigarette from the pack and tossed it into Shu Chuanran's arms. Glancing at Shu Chuanran's pale face, he sneered.
"This is the consequence of keeping it from me. I don't have the ability to show off, and I've ended up hurting myself like this."
He lit the cigarette in his mouth with the flame offered to him, exhaled a puff of smoke, and said with a faint smile, "You don't need to provoke me now. Tomorrow, when my second sister finds out I'm awake, just watch what she does."
Suppressing the urge to set the blanket in front of him on fire with his lighter and burn the boy to death, Zhang Youye's eyes flashed. He held a cigarette between his fingers, chuckled nonchalantly, and slowly uttered a sentence.
"What will she do? What do you think she will do? Or rather, what do you want her to do?"
"Of course I want her to divorce you," Shu Chuanran replied calmly.
As soon as the words were spoken, their eyes met in silence, and the atmosphere around them suddenly became heavy.
After trying to control himself for a long time, he finally couldn't help but kick the hospital bed in front of him to vent his anger.
He tucked the cigarette back into his mouth, leaned closer to him, and a sharp glint flashed in his suddenly dark eyes.
"Shu Chuanran, if it weren't for your pitiful state, I would really like to kick you out of the Shu family."
"You eat the Shu family's food and live the Shu family's life, but you haven't learned a single good thing about the Shu family. Just like the Qin family, you'll do anything to get what you can't have."
Their unwavering gazes met in mid-air, her calm, unwavering eyes seemingly unaffected, not even a hint of anger showing. She chuckled softly, her voice still steady.
“What Brother You said is true. A bastard child who can’t be brought to the table can only be dealt with using underhanded methods.”
As soon as he finished speaking, the hospital bed beneath him shook three more times because of Zhang Youye's kick.
He slowly leaned back onto the hospital bed, his superior features subtly hidden in the lamplight, showing no anger whatsoever.
In the indifferent eyes that met Zhang Youye's gaze, there was a sense of certainty that he had gained the upper hand.
"Brother You, don't get angry. I'm still a patient."
“If my second sister sees you treating patients like this, she’ll be furious.”
Standing there, Zhang Youye's expression was indifferent. He lowered his eyes and scrutinized him for a long time, suppressing the murderous rage in his eyes. He raised his hand and stubbed out his cigarette on the thin blanket.
He didn't say another word until he turned and left.
