After leaving Professor Xu, Shu Yi passed by several other laboratories and looked them over while asking questions out of curiosity.
"Where is your lab? That lab number five we just saw, is it unrelated to your research?"
"Hmm, you want to visit my lab?" Zhang Youye raised an eyebrow.
“I want to go. I want to see what kind of research you’re doing.” Shu Yi nodded.
Upon hearing this, he led Shuyi through the corridor.
Turn left at the end, and you'll enter another, more intimate corridor.
They stopped in front of a lounge and waited for a long time, but he still hadn't opened the door. Shu Yi opened her mouth and asked why he wasn't going in.
The tall figure in front of him slowly turned around.
"Um, it's a bit messy inside, so you don't need to go in. I'll go in and get two pairs of gloves and a coat."
Noticing his suddenly reddened ears, Shu Yi realized something, smiled, and nodded knowingly.
"Okay, I'll wait for you outside."
He carefully blocked the doorway with his whole body, afraid that she would see just how messy the room was.
Zhang Youye didn't even leave her a crack in the door.
Even when he took out his long gown, the door crack was still completely blocked by his tall figure.
Shu Yi put on the brand-new gown, casually pulled her long, curly hair out from under the gown, and turned around.
He met her gaze, which was slightly dazed.
"What's wrong? Do I look strange wearing this?"
After saying that, Shu Yi looked down at herself and realized that she was just putting on a long gown, and there was nothing wrong with it.
He coughed awkwardly, snapping out of his daze and quietly clenching his fist in his pocket.
He was struggling to suppress the raging, scalding lava bubbling within his chest.
It's unbelievable that this woman can even make a simple lab coat look so good.
She wore a white coat, which complemented her exquisite and stunningly beautiful face, as well as her long, curly hair.
It's practically a different kind of role-playing.
As a result, a whole host of images unsuitable for children began to flash and play out wildly in my mind.
etc.
When did you learn to perform these seemingly spontaneously?
Speechless, Zhang Youye, meeting her bewildered gaze, struggled to avert his dark eyes, which were gleaming with desire.
He stiffly turned around and continued to lead the way for her.
Unaware of his unusual behavior, the curious Shu Yi continued to observe on her own as soon as she entered the laboratory.
To avoid touching the delicate instruments in front of her, she put her hands behind her back and tucked the stray hairs behind her ears.
Upon noticing the large amount of research data on the heart on the table, she gasped in shock.
"So, the cloned heart that was all over the news a while ago was your research?"
He waved his hand and handed her the list of researchers, explaining.
"It wasn't me; it was a collaborative effort by all these people. I only contributed a small part. Did you see the name listed below Old Xu? He contributed the most."
"Lu Kechen?" Shu Yi read out the name.
Zhang Youye gave a soft "hmm" and nodded, his tone proud, as if he were talking about something remarkable.
"You could say that without him, this experiment simply wouldn't have been possible."
"So your brother is really amazing."
After sighing, Shu Yi continued reading the list.
Zhang Youye's name is among the top ten, and there are at least dozens more names below him.
They are all outstanding scientific researchers.
"But the fact that your name is on it means you are also very outstanding. I never expected that you would help the country complete such an amazing research project."
"When I first met you, I never thought of you in this way. The old saying is so true, you really can't judge a book by its cover."
Taking the paper back to its original position, Zhang Youye propped himself up on the desk beside him, crossed his arms, and looked at Shu Yi, who was still watching with great interest.
That slender figure was truly beautiful. His Adam's apple bobbed slightly, and a playful glint flashed in his clear eyes.
"Can I ask you a question?"
"Ask away." Ahead, Shu Yi, whose back was to him, seemed to be drawn to the instrument and turned her head back without looking.
He lowered his arms and walked to her side.
As he handed the instrument to her, Zhang Youye said, "You can touch this; it won't break," while demonstrating how to use it step by step.
After teaching her, he naturally let go of her hand and took a few steps back to maintain a polite distance.
"What kind of person did you think I was when you first saw me in the Moonlit Hall?" he asked.
He carefully held the instrument in his palm and examined it closely, without thinking too much or making eye contact with him.
Shu Yi blurted out, "To be honest, the first thing I noticed about you was your blonde hair."
"But I didn't think about what kind of person you would be. You just look so lazy and listless. I feel like you probably didn't sleep well."
Last night, I was thinking about having dinner with the Shu family today.
Zhang Youye tossed and turned, unable to sleep.
Since he couldn't sleep anyway, he asked the housekeeper to rummage through drawers and cabinets for a long time and finally found a hair dye.
It's even expired.
However, in order to avoid an arranged marriage, for the sake of her beloved, and even more so to embarrass both families' elders.
He endured the stinging pain on his scalp and let his aunt dye his hair overnight. Fortunately, the expired hair dye didn't cause any other problems besides the stinging pain.
After the hair was dyed, the housekeeper held the comb in her hand nervously, her voice trembling slightly.
"Young Master, isn't this color... a bit too over the top?"
Without a reply, Zhang Youye faced the mirror, casually ran his fingers through his stray hairs, and admired himself from side to side for a while in a showy manner.
