Chapter 27 reveals Shu Chuanran's ill intentions

Five minutes ago.

After being led through the foyer by Xiao De, Zhang Youye walked familiarly into the ancestral home.

I haven't seen Shuyi for several days, and I can't stop thinking about her day and night. I'm so tormented by this that I can't sleep well every night.

Walking along the quiet, antique-style corridor, I was thinking about where to take Shuyi to cultivate our relationship in the afternoon, but my gaze fell on the hall in front of me.

There were two figures touching head to head.

I don't know what they're talking about.

At first glance, one of them was Shu Yi, whom he liked.

The other one was surprisingly Shu Chuanran.

Zhang Youye was also one of the people who knew about the early events of the Shu family, even though Shu Chuanran was the grandson of Old Master Shu.

But behind the scenes, everyone in the circle knows that he has the blood of the Qin family flowing through his veins.

Zhang Youye acted on his male intuition.

My first thought was that this kid definitely had bad intentions.

My second thought was that he was after Shu Yi.

The fact that the Zhang family and the Shu family have a marriage alliance is well known in the industry.

After all, Shu Yi is the true granddaughter of Old Master Shu. As for Shu Chuanran and his sister, it's enough for them to only be superficially acquainted with Shu Yi.

Once she marries into the Zhang family, there will be even less need for any unnecessary contact between the three of them.

Both logically and emotionally.

He didn't need to be so close to Shu Yi.

Withdrawing his gaze from Shu Chuanran, Zhang Youye pursed his lips, shook his head, and turned to look at Shu Yi.

"It's okay, take me to the dining room first. I'm starving. I came to find you as soon as I woke up, and I didn't even have breakfast."

"You haven't eaten yet? Let's go, I'll take you there now, and we can go see Grandpa while we're at it."

Fearing that Zhang Youye would go hungry, Shu Yi naturally took his arm and led him to the dining room.

However, on the way to the dining hall...

The sound of footsteps always following behind the two of them made Zhang Youye turn his head to take a look.

Seeing that the other party followed behind them with an open and honest expression, without saying a word all the way, just keeping their hands in their pockets and keeping a good distance from them, they simply followed along the way.

After glancing at him sideways for a few moments without saying a word, Zhang Youye turned back and asked in a low voice, "You should know very well about your relationship with your brother, right?"

"Yes, I can tell that Grandpa likes him a lot, and I will treat him like a younger brother too," Shu Yi explained.

"You're right, just treat him like a younger brother." Zhang Youye secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Not understanding why his tone carried a hint of relief, Shu Yi glanced at him in surprise but didn't reply.

Before long, they noticed Uncle Wei waving at them from the entrance of the dining room, and the two immediately quickened their pace.

Upon entering the dining room, Zhang Youye raised his hand to greet the old man in the main seat, and then sat down next to Shu Yigang.

Shu Qiyi got angry as soon as he saw his blond hair.

Seeing that he hadn't dyed his hair back yet, Shu Qiyi angrily scolded him.

"You brat, aren't you going to dye your hair back yet?"

Unable to bear seeing Zhang Youye being scolded by his grandfather as soon as he arrived, Shu Yi kindly tried to explain on his behalf.

“Grandpa, constantly dyeing your hair is bad for your hair and scalp. I think blonde hair suits him better, so please stop criticizing him.”

Even before their own granddaughter has married into the Zhang family, their patrons have already learned to side with outsiders.

This pot of water was bound to be poured out sooner or later.

Before long, it will all be poured out at once.

Suppressing his reluctance, Shu Qiyi smiled and picked up the soup bowl, ladling a bowl of hot soup for Shu Yi.

"Here, have some soup first. Ranran, you eat too, help yourself to whatever you want."

After receiving responses from the two men, Shu Qiyi put down his chopsticks and looked at Zhang Youye, asking him a question.

"Yuno, it's perfect that you're here. I'll take Yiyi out for a stroll this afternoon. But why haven't you come to see her lately? Is the lab very busy?"

He swallowed the food in his mouth, and the fleeting joy in his clear black eyes was carefully concealed.

Zhang Youye gave a slight smirk and calmly explained.

"I'm afraid that if I keep coming, Yi-yi will find me annoying, so I don't dare to keep bothering her."

"You little rascal, you're quite cunning," Shu Qiyi said with a laugh, then added, "Yiyi doesn't know many people in Jingnan. Besides having you take her out, can I find anyone else suitable?"

As expected, the fish took the bait.

Following Grandpa Shu's words, Zhang Youye touched the tip of his nose, coughed a few times, and spoke with great seriousness.

"Alright, now that I have the old man's permission, I'll come every day from now on. Don't find me annoying."

"It's fine if you live here. The ancestral home is so big, there are plenty of rooms for you to sleep in."

As he spoke, Shu Qiyi picked up his teacup, took a slow sip of tea, and then, as if remembering something, continued to give instructions.

“If you stay with me, I can keep an eye on you, at least your dad and second uncle can rest easy. Otherwise, you might suddenly run off to Jiaxing and we won’t be able to catch you again.”

If the fishing net is cast well, there will be plenty of fish.

However, there will always be some fish you don't like in the fishing net.
