The next day.
Shu Yi woke up from her warm bed.
After washing up, Tingli and I walked towards the dining room, where we happened to run into Zhang Youye at the entrance.
Looking at his radiant smile, brighter than the morning sun overhead, Shu Yi nodded and smiled back.
Then, she calmly approached him, slowly extended her fingertips, and pinched him hard.
Having been pinched first thing in the morning, Zhang Youye winced in pain and frowned: "What's wrong? Did I do something to you?"
"What do you think?" Shu Yi rolled her eyes at him and stepped across the threshold on her own.
He caught a glimpse of Tingli's suppressed laughter, and followed behind her, rubbing his aching lower back.
Zhang Youye pressed further, "Didn't we agree on this last night? Why are you settling scores now that you've woken up?"
Shu Yi stopped and turned around leisurely, a sinister smile playing on her pink lips, her expression calm and composed.
"I didn't realize what was happening last night. You've been taking advantage of me for so long, shouldn't I have pinched you?"
"Okay, okay, I was wrong."
Unable to withstand her gaze, Zhang Youye quickly raised his hands in surrender, but the smile on his lips did not fade.
"My dear lady, I admit I'm not exactly a gentleman. I can't resist temptation. How can I not embrace such beauty? Don't you agree?"
"Shameless."
Finally, she rolled her eyes at him, too lazy to argue with the old lecher, and uttered two words before turning and walking into the inner hall.
In the main seat of the inner hall.
Shu Qiyi had been waiting for a long time.
Seeing the two approaching one after the other, with Zhang Youye still holding his back, Shu Qiyi asked, "Youye, is our Shu family's bed uncomfortable? Did you hurt your back?"
“Yes.” Zhang Youye nodded helplessly. “Grandpa, your bed is too hard. It makes my back hurt.”
"I'll have someone change your mattress later."
As he spoke, Shu Qiyi urged the two of them to sit down and have breakfast, his tone suggesting a certain urgency.
"Hurry up and eat breakfast, Yiyi, your great-uncle might be here soon."
"Has Uncle finished his business trip? When will he arrive?" Shu Yi asked as she sat down.
"Yes, I received a call from your great-uncle as soon as I got up. I reckon he should be on his way now. It's still early, you two should have breakfast first."
They casually agreed and began to eat breakfast.
Seeing the two sitting face to face, engrossed in their food and not exchanging a word, Shu Qiyi asked again, "You two have gone out twice already, aren't you familiar with each other yet? Why aren't you saying anything?"
"Yiyi, tell Grandpa what your impression of Youye is. If you think he's good, why don't you try dating him?"
Unexpectedly, Grandpa asked so directly. Shu Yi hurriedly swallowed the congee in her mouth and was about to open her mouth when she heard Zhang Youye's lazy voice.
Staring at her fair and delicate face, his tone carried an air of unwavering confidence.
"Grandpa, we get along quite well. But you asked so directly, how is Yiyi supposed to answer? She's a girl, after all, she's bound to be shy. Couldn't you have asked it a different way?"
Seeing that his granddaughter didn't seem to mind the topic, Shu Qiyi, who knew everything, chuckled and scolded her.
"You brat, tell me, how should I ask?"
"Grandpa, I..."
Zhang Youye liked Old Master Shu's wingman who knew how to seize opportunities. He put down his chopsticks, but before he could finish speaking, Wei Bo interrupted him as he entered the inner hall.
Walking to Shu Qiyi's side, Wei Bo leaned down and whispered a few words in his ear before quickly leaving.
Noticing the sudden change in Grandpa Shu's expression, Zhang Youye asked, "Grandpa, what's wrong?"
"No, it's nothing." Waving his hand, Shu Qiyi turned to look at his granddaughter beside him, "Yiyi, have you finished eating? If you have, come with Grandpa to the Lueyue Hall. Your great-uncle is already waiting for us there."
"Uncle arrived so quickly?" After quickly finishing the congee in her blue-and-white porcelain bowl, Shu Yi pointed to Zhang Youye, who had already stood up. "Is he coming with us too?"
Using his cane to get up from the chair, Shu Qiyi walked to Zhang Youye's side and reached out to straighten his clothes.
“Come with us. Your uncle doesn’t know you’re here yet. Go with your grandfather to see him.”
Nodding, Zhang Youye regained his composure and, together with Shu Yi, helped Shu Qiyi to the Lueyue Hall.
Stepping across the threshold, one arrives at the reception area of the Moonlit Hall.
He immediately spotted Shudean sitting in the main seat, and the young man sitting beside him.
The two helped their grandfather to sit in the main seat. Before Shu Qiyi could even open his mouth, Zhang Youye, who was naturally outgoing, spoke first to greet him.
"Uncle An, you're still in pretty good health, aren't you?"
"What's that brat from the Zhang family doing here?"
Seeing the two men helping Shu Qiyi into the house, Shu De'an was quite surprised. He hadn't expected the Zhang family boy to appear at the Shu family's house today.
Upon seeing the striking blond hair, Shu De'an, like Shu Qiyi, glared at him angrily.
"Look at the way you dyed your hair, what kind of mess is that? Dye it back right now."
Without responding, Zhang Youye ran his hand through his stray hairs, casually found a seat, and leaned back lazily in his chair.
Then.
He then turned his wary gaze, which only Shu Yi could understand, to the young man beside Shu De'an.
After the brief incident, Shu Qiyi gestured to his granddaughter beside him to greet Shu De'an first: "Yiyi, this is your great-uncle, say hello to him first."
"Greetings, Uncle. I am Shu Yi, the 'Yi' of 'pleasant and carefree'." Shu Yi smiled and nodded.
This is the eye of my grandniece.
She was stunningly beautiful and possessed an extraordinary temperament.
You can tell from her walking posture when she entered that she moved with light steps and had a graceful figure.
It's clear that she was indeed well-trained by Shu Yishi, no wonder her brother likes her.
Shu De'an gave a soft "hmm" and handed the gift box to the man beside him, offering his instructions.
"Ruoyang, take this gift to Yiyi."
"Is this Ruoyang? The child is already so big?" Shu Qiyi was somewhat surprised to hear Shu De'an's words.
"Yes, Ruoyang just got back from abroad. He was thinking you hadn't seen him in so long, so he brought him along to see you, and also..."
After a pause, Shu De'an said, "But I didn't expect that the Zhang family boy would be here today."
Receiving a signal from Shu De'an, Chen Ruoyang stood up and walked to Shu Yi, smiling politely.
"Second Miss, this is a gift from your uncle. It also contains my heartfelt wishes. I hope you will like it."
When Shuyi helped her grandfather into the house, she noticed that the man was dressed in a rather ordinary manner.
Despite his young age, he possesses a composed demeanor.
Although he couldn't compare to the young master who was almost lying on his chair, he could at least hold his own against his younger brother, Shu Chuanran.
Shu Yi naturally accepted the gift box from his hand and nodded her thanks, saying, "Thank you."
Watching Chen Ruoyang turn around and return to his original position, Shu Qiyi could tell that his younger brother still looked like he had something to say. He slowly stroked the dragon head in his hand and spoke directly.
"De'an, just say what you want to say. We're family, don't hide anything."
