Chapter 65 The way you look now, you're practically going to eat me alive.

She wiped her tears haphazardly on his clothes, tilted her little face up, and revealed the tip of her red nose.

"My dad is really something, even his letters are written in such a literary style, he just wants to make me cry."

As the last note faded, she pulled Zhang Youye up and left.

The two stood in front of the black and white photograph. Shu Yi clasped her hands together, slowly closed her eyes, and her expression became devout and solemn: "Dad, Mom, I have seen the letter."

"Dad, you're so mean! You hid the letter so well, and you even had to make me cry."

"Did you see that? Isn't this handsome guy next to me gorgeous? Do you remember you saying that if my future partner isn't as good-looking as me, you told me not to bring him home, so as not to upset you?"

"Now you see what he looks like. I haven't let you down, have I?"

“Dad, I know what you’re going to say, but don’t worry about his hair, okay? His name is Zhang Youye, he’s a member of the Zhang family, the same Zhang family you mentioned in your letter.”

"I didn't expect you to guess right. Grandpa did indeed bring me back and even planned to arrange a marriage between us. In fact, he wanted to bring our whole family back, because you two were such good-for-nothings."

As she spoke, Shu Yi slightly opened her eyes and glanced at the man beside her, who also had his hands clasped together and a solemn expression.

"Dad, Mom, I've already married him."

Shu Yi closed her eyes again, forcing back the unbearable soreness rising in her throat, and barely managed to control her emotions as she continued to speak.

"We just got our marriage certificate this morning. We wanted you to know first so we could come back from Jingnan to see you right after we got it."

"You should be very satisfied with this son-in-law, right? After all, you said in your letter that if you were a girl, you would definitely be very happy marrying into the Zhang family."

"Dad, how are you and Mom? Have you seen how I am now? Have you seen how I've been living since I was brought back to the Shu family? And can you see how good Grandpa is to me?"

"Don't worry, I'm very happy now and living a very fulfilling life. I've never been forced into anything by Grandpa. Perhaps he wanted to make up for the regrets he had for you. Grandpa respects me a lot, and so does your son-in-law."

As soon as she finished speaking, she bent her back, bowed to the black and white photograph, and then lowered her clasped hands.

Following her example, Zhang Youye also bowed, and then took the initiative to hold the hand that was hanging by her side.

The two people are facing a black and white photograph.

"Dad, Mom, my name is Zhang Youye. I'm from Jingnan and I currently work at a research institute in Jingnan."

"Well, Dad, you should know both my dad and my second uncle, and I've heard from them that you two have a pretty good relationship, so our two families know each other quite well. I know what you're most worried about, so don't worry."

At the end of his sentence, his eyes showed determination, and he solemnly assured him.

"As Yiyi's husband, I will definitely treat her well and never let her suffer any grievances."

Picking up where Zhang Youye left off, Shu Yi patted his shoulder, a hint of cunning flashing across her eyes.

"Don't worry, your son-in-law can pick locks. He even boasted that he could support me by picking locks. Even if the things you're worried about happen in the family in the future, we can just walk away. Anyway, he can support me by picking locks, right?"

When their eyes met, Qi Si began to flutter again.

In the dim twilight, a blush inexplicably rose on Zhang Youye's earlobes, a blush she couldn't even notice.

Taking advantage of the perfect moment, he leaned forward slightly and left a fleeting kiss on her soft lips.

With difficulty, he exerted force in his palm, forcing her to fall into his arms unexpectedly.

"I finally got to kiss you, my wife."

A familiar, burning heat surged within his clear eyes, and noticing her ears also flushed crimson, he smiled brightly.

As if he had finally obtained a treasure that no one else in the world could possess, he gently stroked her shoulder with his palm, his expression filled with intense tenderness and restraint.

She sighed contentedly in her heart, her thin shoulders forcing her to face herself.

His gaze met her slightly trembling eyes, and after a brief pause, Zhang Youye spoke softly.

"You don't necessarily have to rely on lock picking. Actually, I sing quite well, and I can support you by busking."

...

A gust of autumn wind brushed past my ear, and the gauze curtains by the balcony window seemed to sway slightly.

The setting sun, reluctant to disappear into the west, still hung in the sky. Before it got dark, the distant sky was painted with large swaths of orange-red.

The sun had not yet set, and the streetlights began to illuminate the scene with a soft yellow glow.

There were sounds of children playing downstairs in the residential area, the warning sound of bicycle bells, and faint music from square dancing.

They stood in the corner of the living room, silent for a long time.

The living room lights were off until the sun finally sank contentedly into the west, and a vast darkness swept in.

Because of a sudden kiss.

The two remained silent for a very long time.

Unable to bear the passing of time, suppressing the pounding in her chest, Shu Yi tightened her grip on her warm hand, their fingers intertwined, and parted her lips slightly.

Are you hungry? Do you want to get something to eat?

I checked the time in the dark; it was almost six o'clock.

Nodding, Zhang Youye pointed to the marriage contract on the coffee table and asked, "Don't you want to take a look at the marriage contract?"

"I've already seen my dad's letter, so there's nothing more to see in this marriage contract."

After answering his question softly, Shu Yi avoided his gaze and slowly raised her hand to touch her earlobe.

Without even looking, one could tell that even the color of his eyes had already become shimmering and tender from his kiss.

After a pause, she added, "To be honest, I came back specifically to see if there was a marriage contract in this wooden box because of what Uncle Qin said."

"Don't pay attention to what the Qin family says."

Drawn to the color of her eyes, Zhang Youye's Adam's apple bobbed slightly as he stepped forward, his eyelashes lowered, and he stared intently into her eyes.
