Chapter 329 The Monster Appears

Chapter 329 The Monster Appears

Yun Qingqing noticed that Mr. Zhuang's eldest son, who was leading the crowd, was walking with a limp.

Zhuang Qinghong's gaze also fell on his eldest son, and he sighed sadly.

"Father, you called us here so urgently, is there something important happening?"

When the eldest son saw everyone had arrived, he stepped forward and asked.

Zhuang Qinghong straightened his clothes and bowed to the younger generations in a proper manner.

Everyone was startled. Zhuang Lao's two sons hurried forward to help him and said anxiously:

"What is father doing? Did something happen?"

Zhuang Qinghong took a deep breath and said loudly:

"I made a terrible mistake many years ago, harming many of our younger generations. Today, I hereby apologize to everyone in the banker!"

Everyone looked at each other, and the eldest son was about to speak, but he raised his hand to stop him.

"Thankfully, we've been fortunate enough to have invited Master Qingyun. This matter will finally come to a conclusion. I called you all here today to bear witness and warn future generations to learn from my mistakes and not repeat them!"

After he finished speaking, he turned to Yun Qingqing and bowed:

"Thank you, Master!"

When he mentioned Master Qingyun, everyone made a low commotion and looked at Yun Qingqing in surprise.

Many people noticed this stunning and extraordinary girl from the beginning, and they didn't expect that she was the legendary Qingyun Zhenren of Tianming Pavilion.

Yun Qingqing nodded, walked a few steps to an open space beside the pond, raised her slender hand, and several yellow lights flew out from her hand in all directions and disappeared from sight.

"The one in the water, do you want to come out by yourself, or do you want me to tie you up?" Yun Qingqing shouted towards the pond.

Everyone was shocked. What did the master mean by this?

Is there something else in the pond?

Everyone couldn't help but look at the pond, and saw only a few ripples on the water surface caused by the breeze, and no movement at all.

Yun Qingqing sneered:

"I wanted to give you some respect, so don't blame me for taking action."

As she spoke, she raised two fingers, and a yellow talisman appeared out of thin air on her hand. With another shake, the talisman paper actually changed shape in a flash of light, and in a moment it turned into a long whip held in Yun Qingqing's hand.

She raised her hand and whipped the ball into the water.

The whip hitting the water didn't make much noise at first, but a moment later there was a loud bang, and the water surface suddenly exploded with a splash over ten feet high, and a white shadow whizzed into the sky!

A sharp and angry voice rang out in the air!

"You're just a little girl. I didn't want to bother with you, but you insisted on seeking death!"

The white shadow transformed into a human figure standing in the air, looking like a handsome white-faced scholar. But after he shouted loudly, three huge white tails stretched out from behind him and rolled towards Yun Qingqing!

Yun Qingqing sneered and put away the whip. He reached out and took out the green hairpin from under his head, summoned Dawn and held it in his hand.

The white-faced scholar's face changed drastically the moment he sensed the murderous intent of Dawn. He hurriedly retracted his white tail, but he was still a step too late. The tip of his tail was effortlessly cut off by Dawn.

He let out a scream and without saying a word turned into a ball of white light and tried to escape.

However, the white light had just escaped for less than a few feet when it crashed into an invisible wall with a bang. A golden light burst out at the point of impact, and some mysterious symbols could be vaguely seen flashing by.

The white light was deformed by this impact, and fell to the ground staggeringly, turning into a furry ball.

It turned out to be a white fox with three tails, one of which was missing a piece of its tip and was dripping with blood.

Yun Qingqing flashed and came to the thing with a sword in hand, pointing the sword at it and said coldly:

"Sixty years ago, you, a fox demon, tricked a young child into signing a contract with you, stealing the fortune of the Zhuang family's descendants for your own cultivation. Today is the time for reckoning!"

"Master, spare my life!" the white fox pleaded rapidly, speaking in human language. "It was me, the little demon, who didn't recognize the true master! Please, please don't kill me! I am willing to serve you as my master and work like a slave to repay your kindness!"

Yun Qingqing said calmly:

"I can spare your life, but I don't need you to acknowledge me as your master. What you need to do is compensate the banker for the fortune he has lost over the years!"

The white fox froze, holding its tail pitifully and hesitating for a moment, then said with a firm decision:

"When I signed the contract with Ergou sixty years ago, I only had one tail. These two tails were cultivated by borrowing half of the good fortune of his descendants. Now there's no way I can return that good fortune. I... I am willing to cut off both tails as an apology, and I beg Master to spare my life!"

After saying this, it turned its head, closed its eyes hard, and was about to bite the base of its tail.

Yun Qingqing raised Dawn and slammed the back of the sword on the fox's head. The white fox hugged its head with stars in its eyes.

Yun Qingqing put away the Dawn and said speechlessly:

"Are you stupid?"

"...Ah?" The white fox looked at her pitifully.

Yun Qingqing said:

"You know your fortune isn't going away. Will it help if you cut off both tails? Will that make up for the banker's losses?"

The white fox's expression fell, and suddenly he stood up like a human being and knelt down to Yun Qingqing:

"Master, please give me some guidance and tell me what to do!"

Yun Qingqing looked at it for a moment, then said calmly:

"You'll find out in the future that although your method of borrowing luck can rapidly increase your cultivation in the short term, it will leave hidden dangers for your future practice. Once you reach a certain level, it will be difficult to make further progress."

"...Yes," the white fox said dejectedly, "but the spiritual energy in this world is thin, and it's already difficult for us demons to cultivate. If we can't even take care of the present, how can we even think about the future... But although I had selfish motives back then, I truly didn't mean to harm anyone. I didn't know the consequences of this contract would be so serious..."

"Don't you know what it means?" Old Master Zhuang listened for a long time, and finally couldn't help but yelled angrily, "If you hadn't periodically taken away the fortune of my descendants in the name of debt collection over the years, how could my eldest son be disabled?"

"With my second son's talent, how could he always have an accident on the eve of the Spring Examination, causing him to fail every time?"

"And my poor grandson, who was hit by a car six months ago and is still lying unconscious in the hospital bed! Isn't this all your fault?"

"How dare you say you didn't know!"

"That's not the case!" White Fox said anxiously, "The contract only provides for my luck, but I can't control how it happens!"

"The contract will automatically absorb the luck of your descendants, splitting it in two. Half will be transferred to you, and the other half will belong to me... Their misfortune was indeed caused by the loss of their luck, but it was definitely not my doing!"

"To be honest, I've been regretting everything I've done for you these past few years, but I don't know how to cancel this contract..."

Old Master Zhuang's face twitched slightly. This fox didn't directly tell him that he was always trying to commit suicide, but he couldn't help feeling guilty.

The white fox said again:

"I can only try my best to keep an eye on your descendants, but there are too many people in your family. No matter how hard I try, there will always be omissions..."

"Wait a moment!" Old Master Zhuang glared at it and said, "Can you still be so kind?"

Yun Qingqing spoke at this time:

"It's true. Just go and test the depth of the pond."

Mr. Zhuang was stunned for a moment, then he looked at Yun Qingqing and pointed at the spot where the little girl had just fallen and said in surprise:

"Could it be that Ah Miao..."

Yun Qingqing nodded:

"That spot is high enough for a child to drown. Your great-granddaughter was able to get ashore safely because of the fox's covert intervention."

After she said this, Mr. Zhuang fell silent.

The white fox was also stunned for a moment, and suddenly howled aggrievedly:

"Master, you already knew this! Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
