Chapter 119, Aphrodite
The slap in the face woke the man up instantly.
He looked at Kong Xiyan in front of him, his heart in his throat, but he still tried to pretend to be calm and forced out an unnatural laugh: "Kong, Senior Sister Kong..."
"Are you a student of this school?" Kong Xiyan raised her eyebrows and looked at the man in front of her.
He was in his early twenties, with short hair, an ordinary face, and wearing a gray short-sleeved shirt. He was the type that would be lost in a crowd if you turned around.
The half of his face that had just been slapped was red and swollen, while the other half was pale with fear.
"Well, I'm a first-year graduate student in the history department of our school. My name is Zhang Wei." In order to prove his identity, the man quickly took out his student ID from his pocket and showed it to Kong Xiyan.
Kong Xiyan took a look at Zhang Wei’s student ID card and the corners of her mouth twitched. Even the name was very common.
Kong Xiyan took Zhang Wei's student ID and snatched his cell phone.
"Senior Kong! That's it!" Zhang Wei's face changed. Kong Xiyan pointed the phone directly at Zhang Wei's face, unlocked the screen through facial recognition, and opened the photo album.
"You're taking secret photos of me, aren't you?" Kong Xiyan looked at her own photo in the album and sneered, "There are many people who have a crush on me, but it's rare to find someone like you who openly follows and takes secret photos! You shouldn't be called Zhang Wei, you should be called Zhang San!"
"Senior Kong, I just admire you! I don't mean any harm!" Zhang Wei heaved a sigh of relief after hearing Kong Xiyan say this: "Senior Kong, I was wrong! I'll delete the photos right now and I won't dare to do that again! I promise!"
"If guarantees are useful, do we still need laws?" Kong Xiyan threw Zhang Wei's phone back to him and put Zhang Wei's student ID card into her pocket: "I've confiscated the student ID card."
"But..." Zhang Wei was interrupted by Kong Xiyan before he could finish his words.
"Or do you want to go to the police station yourself?" Kong Xiyan raised an eyebrow: "Hmm?"
When Zhang Wei heard this, he suddenly fell silent and the expression on his face changed again and again.
"Add me on WeChat. When I need you in the future, you'll be there whenever I call." Kong Xiyan looked at Zhang Wei and said, "If you're late, I'll report your incident today to the department head!"
"Ah?" Zhang Wei was stunned. What was going on?
"What? You don't want to? Didn't you say you admire me? You lied to me." Kong Xiyan's eyes turned cold in an instant.
"I, I'll add you! I'm very happy to do so! I just didn't expect, I didn't expect that you, Senior Kong, would give me such a good opportunity!" Zhang Wei immediately laughed dryly, held his phone and scanned the QR code on Kong Xiyan's screen to add her as a friend.
"Alright, get out of here." Kong Xiyan waved her hand. "I won't tolerate it if you do that again. Do you understand?"
"I understand, I understand." Zhang Wei nodded and bowed before quickly running away. As he walked, he cursed in his heart: No, she is sick!
Kong Xiyan looked at Zhang Wei's back, restrained her expression, and a hint of teasing appeared in her eyes: "[Aphrodite]... Really?"
Since the gods and Buddhas don't allow her to fight head-on, then she might as well try fishing...which is not bad either.
I just hope that this time the fish hidden in the pond are big and wild enough!
Don't let her down!
Turning around, Kong Xiyan returned to the cafeteria and sat next to Zhong Yangyang. After Zhong Yangyang had breakfast, Kong Xiyan told Zhong Yangyang some details about running and asked Zhong Yangyang to experience it himself. Then she got up and went to Professor Gu.
Today she is responsible for the highly difficult task of restoring cultural relics.
After a whole morning of high-precision repairs, Kong Xiyan felt like her waist was about to break.
This job is very fulfilling. After all, every cultural relic is a Chinese treasure that has gone through many vicissitudes of life. But it is too tiring for the eyes and the waist.
Taking advantage of the break, Kong Xiyan performed a set of Tai Chi in the corner.
"Busy?" Professor Gu saw this scene as he pushed open the door. "Tired?"
"A little bit." Kong Xiyan finished her final gesture and looked at Professor Gu: "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, just asking about the repair progress." Professor Gu knew the difficulty of this repair. "How about I send two graduate students to help you?"
"They can't come for this job, don't make it difficult for those children." Kong Xiyan waved her hand: "Tell them that it will be repaired by the end of October."
"Yeah." Professor Gu nodded. It was about the same time as he estimated.
"But actually, I will be able to fix it by the end of September." Kong Xiyan chuckled, "And I've also finished repairing the beast-taming painting. You can just hand it over together by the end of October."
"Huh? So fast?" Professor Gu was shocked. "Have you already repaired the Beast Taming Diagram?"
"Or else?"
"Then why did you tell them that it will not be repaired until late October?" Professor Gu was a little puzzled.
"I am me, and others are others. If they see that I can repair it so quickly, they will ask others to take the same amount of time in the future. Wouldn't that be a nuisance for them?" Kong Xiyan shrugged and sat back at the repair workbench. "Professor Gu, is there anything else you want to talk to me about?"
"There are two more things." Professor Gu recovered. "One is that the funding application and subsidy have been approved. I'll have someone transfer your copy to your account this afternoon. If there's anything else we need to purchase, you can also let me know."
After a pause, Professor Gu glanced at the restored Beast Taming Diagram and sighed, "But I guess you don't need anything else."
This is what it means to compare yourself with others and feel frustrated!
Even a man like him, half buried in the earth, couldn't help but feel jealous when he saw Kong Xiyan's amazing talent!
It can be said that the waves behind the Yangtze River push the waves in front of them, and the waves in front of them die on the beach!
"Who said that!" Kong Xiyan was annoyed. "That refrigerator is too small. Buy me another one to put in the lounge. There's no place to store ice cream and iced cola in the hot summer. It'd be best if it can make ice! And I want a new coffee machine, too. One with a grinder and milk foam!"
Hearing this, Professor Gu's mouth twitched. Wow, none of them has anything to do with cultural relics restoration!
But who can blame Kong Xiyan for being so powerful? She alone can take on the role of an entire cultural relic restoration team!
Fortunately, both the refrigerator and the coffee machine were not expensive, so Professor Gu nodded and said, "Okay."
After hearing Professor Gu's agreement, Kong Xiyan nodded with satisfaction, turned her chair back to the archaeological workbench, and lowered her head to start the restoration work.
"The second thing is that there's news about the theft of cultural relics at the Luohe Ruins."
Hearing this, Kong Xiyan paused and her eyes became sharp.
"Have you heard of the Aphrodite? Rumor has it that several artifacts from the Luo River ruins will be auctioned on that luxury cruise ship." Professor Gu's expression became more serious. "However, the Aphrodite is an invitation-only luxury cruise ship. It will be difficult for us to board the ship to participate in the auction and buy back our artifacts."
"Since it's difficult to participate in the auction, we can just grab the things back before the ship sails." Kong Xiyan chuckled, "It's ours anyway."
"What are you going to do? This is very dangerous!" Professor Gu frowned.
Kong Xiyan curled the corners of her mouth and continued with the cultural relic restoration work at hand.
"Kong Xiyan! What on earth are you going to do?" Professor Gu was anxious.
"Buy a bigger refrigerator for the lounge." Kong Xiyan smiled at Professor Gu. "I want a double-door one."
“…”
