After all, they were spying; it would be so embarrassing if they got caught.
So, Chisui could only lower her voice and say irritably.
"I'm not blind, I can see."
Mu Chen curled the corners of his lips and continued to tease Qian Sui: "Your eyes aren't blind, but I'm afraid your heart is."
Qian Sui turned her head and glared at Mu Chen fiercely, then said nothing more.
Ling Shen and Shang Ziyan were still talking. Ling Shen was a man of few words; after saying just a few sentences, he fell silent.
Shang Ziyan, on the other hand, seemed to talk a lot. She kept looking up at Ling Shen, rambling on and on, from acting in a play to playing the guzheng, from rehearsals to the first dress rehearsal. Qian Sui and Mu Chen found it annoying to listen to.
But Ling Shen seemed to be listening very attentively, and even nodded in agreement from time to time.
Even the Emperor was puzzled; when did these two become so familiar?
If she talks a lot, Ling Shen will grab something to eat and stuff it into her mouth, saying, "Can't even food shut you up?"
Seeing how Ling Shen treats Shang Ziyan, Qian Sui feels like she's being targeted.
Qian Sui and Mu Chen were engrossed in watching, perhaps too much so, that they didn't notice that several people came up from the stairwell and appeared behind them.
Mu Chen and Qian Sui kept watching Ling Shen until those people approached. Mu Chen heard the footsteps and turned around, but it was too late.
Mu Chen wasn't wearing a mask, and when he turned around, he made eye contact with these people.
The group of people were stunned at first, then covered their mouths in shock and pointed at Mu Chen, shouting.
"Ah, it's Mu Chen!"
