Chapter Twenty-Six: Something Else

When Qian Sui was taken home by the driver, Qian Ci was waiting at the gate of the courtyard.

Qian Sui saw Qian Ci from afar, so he rolled down the car window, stuck his head out, and waved to Qian Ci: "Big Brother!"

Qianci, dressed in a black suit, stood at the gate of the courtyard with a stern face. Behind her stood an assistant, who looked serious and unyielding, like a ruthless gangster boss from a movie. But when she heard Qiansui call her name...

Qianci's seriousness vanished in an instant. He smiled like an old father, gave a simple and honest "Hey," and then took a few steps forward to greet Qiansui.

The assistant, who witnessed the whole thing, was speechless. Had their CEO secretly gone to learn Peking Opera face-changing behind his back?

The car stopped in front of him, and Qian Sui ran out of the car and threw herself into Qian Ci's arms.

Qianci responded to Qiansui's hug, though she complained, her body language betrayed her words: "You little brat, you have no manners."

Qian Sui chuckled twice and released Qian Ci.

Qianci reached out and tidied some of her hair, which had become a little messy from hugging him, and asked with concern, "How was school today? Is it the first day of school?"

Chisui nodded. This was the first time she had gone to school in eighteen years, and the first time she had met so many people. Although some things were not pleasant and she was not quite used to it, as an optimist, she felt that as long as things did not defeat her, they were good.

Qianci certainly knew what kind of personality Qiansui had.

He didn't completely believe Chisui's answer. He took Chisui home, and after they ate, while Chisui was washing up, he called the driver over to ask about the situation.

"How was school today, Miss?"

Although Chitose managed to get the driver away from the school, he still secretly kept tabs on her.

The driver showed Qianci some photos he had taken, as well as posts about Qiansui on the school's Weibo account, and respectfully said, "Miss Qiansui had a relatively smooth day at school, but there were also some unpleasant things."

The photos showed Shang Anqi leading a group to stop Qian Sui, as well as Zhang Shaochuan pulling Qian Sui's hand as they walked out of the crowd in the cafeteria. The last photo showed Qian Sui and Lu Jiayan standing in front of the small building.

The more Qianci looked, the worse her expression became.

Although he was 29 years old and had been out of school for a long time, he was not very clear about what was happening at school now. But no matter when, there would always be some delinquent girls and some hooligans at school.

Clearly, Shang Anqi is a delinquent, while Zhang Shaochuan is the kind of person who's involved in shady dealings.

Also, why is Ling Shen's person at the school, and with Qian Sui?

Qianci was overwhelmed by the photos and put them down: "Originally, I sent Qiansui to school because I thought she would be too bored. Besides, now that she's come down from the mountain, she should be integrating into this world. But the school is a mixed bag..."

The assistant next to him knew where his worries came from. He quickly investigated the people in the photo and shared his concerns: "The girl in the photo who led people to stop Miss Qian Sui is Shang Anqi, the eldest daughter of the Shang Group. She has a somewhat arrogant and domineering personality. When she attended a party before, she slapped a female celebrity and berated her for getting ahead through connections and having a lowly status. In short, she has a princess complex."

Qianci, who could talk about deals worth hundreds of millions without batting an eye, was terrified the moment she heard this: "Oh my god, are all the kids in this school bad? Will our Qiansui be bullied or led astray?"

The assistant was speechless, feeling that his boss was really too much of a sister-obsessed and doting father.

But recalling what he knew, the Qian family only had one daughter, Qian Sui, who was taken to the mountain to cultivate when she was young because of incompatible fates. Her family had to time their visits carefully, so it's no wonder they dote on her so much now.

The assistant gave a professional smile: "Miss Qian Sui is just simple-minded, but she's not a pushover. Although Shang Anqi is arrogant and domineering, she's all talk and no action and poses no threat to Miss Qian Sui."

But clearly, such words did not offer any comfort to President Qianci, who was obsessed with his sister and daughter.

The assistant blinked, deciding it was better not to offer comfort and to continue with her job. So she continued, "The boy in the photo pulling Miss Qian Sui along in the cafeteria is the heir to the Zhang Group. Rumor has it he's the illegitimate son of the Zhang Group's president. He was previously living away from home with his mother. A few years ago, the Zhang Group's successor, the president's eldest son, died in a car accident. With no one to carry on the Zhang Group's legacy, the president remembered he had such a son and sent people to find him. Although he's been raised for several years and is no longer a commoner, he hasn't changed his ways. I heard he's a troublemaker at school."

After hearing this, Qianci couldn't help but sigh, "He really is a troublemaker. Look at him, holding our Qiansui's hand like a hooligan."

The assistant was speechless: "President! Show some of the power you have, where you can make tens of millions in a minute and turn the world upside down with a flick of your wrist!"

Although it was a difficult decision, sending Chitose to school was a result of discussions he had made with others.

For the past eighteen years, Chisui has been protected, so she has a pure heart. However, as the youngest and only girl in the Chi family, Chisui cannot stay in a greenhouse forever after leaving the mountain.

Therefore, no matter how reluctant he was, he had to let Qian Sui integrate into this world.

Qianci was struggling with her inner conflict. On one hand, she wanted to protect Qiansui to satisfy her own selfishness. After all, she had the ability to protect Qiansui for a lifetime, and even if she did nothing, she could enjoy wealth and luxury for the rest of her life.

On the one hand, I also feel that even a thousand-year-old should have his own life.
