On the basketball court, the boys are usually players and substitutes, so everyone wears a basketball uniform. Ling Shen was dressed more casually, so Shang Anqi spotted him at a glance.
Shang Anqi's eyes lit up immediately, and the hope that had just been extinguished was rekindled.
Shang Anqi stopped and sat back down in her seat.
The girls next to Shang Anqi had wanted to watch the second half of the movie, but Shang Anqi urged them to leave, so they had no choice but to follow. But now, Shang Anqi, who had been urging them to leave, sat down again, which puzzled them.
The girls turned to look at Shang Anqi and asked, "Anqi, why aren't you leaving?"
Shang Anqi reached up and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, then said, "I think we should watch the second half before leaving, after all, the players work so hard."
The girls looked at each other, sensing that something was amiss.
But they could only listen to Shang Anqi and obediently sit down to wait for the second half.
Luo Xinyue also noticed that everyone was saying Ling Shen had arrived. She glanced at the court and spotted Ling Shen in the crowd.
Ling Shen is the kind of person who can be recognized at a glance, no matter what kind of crowd he is in.
Ling Shen was looking down at his phone, and Qian Sui was also looking down at her phone.
Luo Xinyue guessed what was going on. She turned her head and glanced at Qian Sui's phone chat page, and sure enough, the contact name was Ling Shen.
Looking at Shang Anqi, who had stayed behind because of Ling Shen's appearance, Luo Xinyue thought to herself: No matter what, Shang Anqi really has no chance.
Luo Xinyue waited beside Qian Sui for a long time, watching Qian Sui type and then delete, hesitating for a long time but still unable to send a single word.
Luo Xinyue was unaware of what had happened between Qian Sui and Ling Shen.
But standing there like this isn't a good solution.
Luo Xinyue said, "Let's go out and buy a bottle of water and come back. The air is better outside, and you'll probably know how to reply to him then."
Qian Sui really didn't know how to reply to Ling Shen, and now that she heard Luo Xinyue say this, she could only nod in agreement.
Qian Sui looked up and glanced at Ling Shen, who was on the basketball court, looking down at his phone.
Qian Sui's heart skipped a beat, thinking that Ling Shen might be waiting for her reply, so she sent Ling Shen a message.
"I'll go out and buy a bottle of water first, and I'll get back to you later."
After sending the message, Qian Sui put her phone away and then walked out hand in hand with Luo Xinyue.
There's a small supermarket next to the basketball court, and it's gotten quite busy lately, with long queues at the checkout.
After Qian Sui and Luo Xinyue each took a bottle of water inside, they started queuing up.
With a long queue, Luo Xinyue was replying to messages on her phone. Qian Sui was really bored. In this hot weather, being in such a crowded place was bound to make her a little irritable.
Chitose would take out his phone to pass the time.
While I was scrolling through my phone, Ling Shen's message popped up again.
Ling Shen: "Buy me a bottle too."
Chisui paused, then turned to look at the long queue behind her.
If she were to run off to get a bottle of water now, she would probably have to queue up again, and who knows how long she would have to wait in line again.
Chitose hesitated for a moment before replying, "There are too many people."
This statement implies a polite refusal.
When Ling Shen received this news, he wasn't particularly surprised; it was within his expectations.
Moreover, when he said he wanted Chitose to buy him water, it was just a joke; there was plenty of water for them to drink on the basketball court.
Ling Shen looked down at his phone screen, a slight smile unconsciously curving his lips.
Ling Shen replied, "Alright, then I'll be thirsty for now."
After Qian Sui and Luo Xinyue paid the bill and came out, Qian Sui received this message from Ling Shen.
She glanced down at her phone, then paused.
Seeing that Qian Sui had stopped, Luo Xinyue couldn't help but ask, "What's wrong?"
Qian Sui hesitated for a moment, then said to Luo Xinyue, "Xinyue, you should go back first. I still want to buy some things."
Luo Xinyue: "It's nothing. There are so many people now. If you go back to buy it, you'll have to wait in a long line again. If you're not in a hurry, we can come out and buy it before the game ends, then there won't be so many people."
Qian Sui hesitated for a moment: "I'll buy it first. You go in first, I'll be there in a bit."
As she spoke, Qian Sui gave Luo Xinyue the water and lollipop she had just bought, and then said, "Hold these for me for now."
Luo Xinyue couldn't persuade Qian Sui, so she could only help him carry the things back.
There were still many people queuing in the supermarket. Chitose took a bottle of water and placed it at the very end of the line.
Perhaps because the second half of the game was about to start, almost no one else lined up after her.
Chitose stood at the very end of the line, inching forward little by little.
By the time it was her turn, almost ten minutes had passed.
Chitose paid the bill and walked out of the supermarket toward the basketball court.
The second half of the game had already begun, and there were hardly any people outside the basketball court. The cicadas in the trees were chirping incessantly, making people feel even more annoyed.
The bottle of mineral water was taken out of the refrigerator and has now come into contact with warm air, causing water droplets to seep out of the bottle.
Chisui held it in one hand, her palm icy cold.
The sun was too strong, so she jogged into the basketball court. As soon as she reached the entrance, she heard cheers from inside.
The second half of the game has been going on for quite some time now.
Chisui wiped the sweat from his brow with the back of his hand and then walked into the basketball court.
She walked up to the audience, through a crowd of cheering and shouting people, and returned to her seat.
After Luo Xinyue returned with Qiansui's things, she waited for Qiansui. Now that she was back, Luo Xinyue quickly asked her to sit down.
