Chapter 89 Not letting any delicious food go to waste

Unlike fish and shrimp, abalone do not migrate in water.

They are attached to the seabed rocks, under the coral reefs, or on the seabed sand.

Yingyue descended to the seabed and began searching for the large abalone she desired.

This isn't the deep sea; there are abalone here, but they're not very big.

She soon found several that were about the size of her fist.

Well, although it was not quite the size of the large bowl she had imagined, it was better than nothing, wasn't it?

A good child is one who doesn't pick and choose their food.

Yingyue happily pulled the small abalone off the reef and put it into her net bag.

She picked up seven or eight abalones, and then she saw sea cucumbers.

They didn't let any go, they picked them up.

Pick up the giant octopus that's burrowing in the sand.

There are also lobsters and crabs with many legs, which you can pick up without hesitation.

Yingyue picked up one large seafood after another.

She only sighed with regret when her net bag was completely full.

The net is too small.

Next time, she'll ask Huo Cheng to prepare a super-large net for her. She wants to go to the deeper sea and bring home all the treasures from the ocean floor.

As Yingyue was about to surface, she inadvertently caught sight of a clam spitting out water not far away.

Thinking of the white pearl, she happily 'ran' towards the clam.

A sea clam, about the size of their cooking pot, was just moving around a moment ago.

Perhaps sensing Yingyue's arrival, it immediately closed its shell tightly.

Yingyue patted the shell on the clam with the small net in her hand, trying to negotiate with it.

"I only want pearls, I won't eat your flesh."

The clam remained unmoved.

Perhaps they just couldn't understand it?

Yingyue thought for a moment, then reached into the net and pulled the octopus out.

It allowed its claws to stick to the clam.

The octopus's long tentacles attach to the clam and firmly suck the shell onto it.

Yingyue grabbed one end of the octopus and pulled hard.

The octopus's tentacles pried open the clam's shell just a little bit.

Yingyue reacted quickly and stuffed the stone next to her into the hole.

It got stuck right in the gap.

She bent down and peered through the gap at the pearl inside; it was the size of a pigeon egg.

Although it's a bit small, she's not picky.

Yingyue used a dagger to cut out the three largest pearls before removing the stone and allowing the clam to close its shell.

As for the octopus that helped her open the clam shell, she decided to spare its life.

The main reason is that she brought back too much stuff; it seemed like she couldn't finish it all in one meal.

I might as well be a good person and do a good deed, and catch a few small squid to take home as a side dish.

After packing her things, Yingyue slowly swam upstream.

Huo Cheng, who was still in the sea but hadn't dived to the bottom, was waiting for her.

Seeing her come up, his heart finally settled down.

They went forward to help the person, and the two of them left the seawater and climbed onto a large rock.

Once Yingyue was on the big rock, she couldn't wait to take off the net from her waist and show Huo Cheng her catch.

Huo Cheng smiled as he took the clothes out of the basket and poured the contents of the net bag into the basket.

The grouper and eel were placed in a bucket with a little seawater added to keep them alive.

The big crab was still restless, scratching at the willow basket with its pincers.

Huo Cheng put the lid back on, and now no matter how much the crab scratched, it couldn't get over it.

After he had packed everything, he walked back to Yingyue's side.

"Yueyue, shall we change our clothes first?"

The weather was still a bit chilly, and Huo Cheng was worried that Yingyue would catch a cold if she was outside in the wind.

Yingyue actually wanted to go for a swim.

But seeing Huo Cheng's worried expression, she held back.

"All right."

After taking off her wet swimsuit and changing into a clean tank top and clean underwear, and then putting on her outer clothes and trousers, she becomes a well-behaved and demure little girl again.

Huo Cheng looked into her wet eyes and reached out to untie the rubber band from her hair.

Let her wet, long hair spread out, let the sun dry it, let the wind blow it.

Yingyue changed her clothes, and Huo Cheng also changed his clothes. Then they packed their things and came out from behind the big rock.

Huo Qing and the others have disappeared.

Huo Qing and the others were nowhere to be seen on the beach.

"Are Xiao Qing and the others diving too?"

Yingyue looked around and asked questions.

Huo Cheng shook his head.

"The things they brought are gone; they must have gone back first."

"Um?"

Why do we need to go back first?

Yingyue couldn't understand it.

You'll find out when you get home.

The couple walked back to the cave from the beach and found that there was only one bicycle left. Huo Qing and the others had indeed gone back first.

"Let's go back too."

Yingyue looked at Huo Cheng and urged him on.

Huo Cheng nodded, tied the bucket and willow basket together, and then pushed his bicycle back the way he came.

After emerging from the narrow and rugged mountain tunnel onto the main road, Yingyue sat on the front of the carriage, leaning against Huo Cheng's chest as they returned home.

Along the way, she happily told Huo Cheng about the interesting things that happened underwater, and Huo Cheng listened with a smile the whole time.

"Oh right, I dug three pearls out of there. I'll give one to Xiaoqing in a bit, and you can play with the other two, okay?"

Yingyue didn't forget to show off the gifts she brought.

Besides food, she also knows to bring gifts!
