Chapter 229: Strange Street Crisis [Part 2]

Lin Yuexi was thinking this secretly, but Gong Jinyao, who was sitting in the driver's seat, could no longer bear this weird feeling of being unable to distinguish between true and false.

Her hands were trembling slightly due to excessive tension and fear, her forehead was covered with fine beads of sweat, and her eyes were full of panic and confusion.

"No, I can't stand it anymore! What the hell is going on!" Gong Jinyao cried out in a voice almost collapsing, then she suddenly pushed open the driver's door and staggered out of the car.

Seeing this, Lin Yuexi secretly thought to herself that something was wrong. She knew very well that these people's target was her. Gong Jinyao's rash getting off the car would undoubtedly put herself in danger and completely disrupt her original plan. It was obvious that the enemy was forcing her to get out of the car and deal with it.

When Ye Shihan saw Gong Jinyao get out of the car, her heart tightened. Out of concern for her daughter and subconscious reaction, she reached out without hesitation, opened the car door, and quickly followed.

"Jinyao!" Ye Shihan called out Gong Jinyao's name while vigilantly observing the crowd around her who were eyeing her covetously. Her eyes revealed determination and worry. Although her body was trembling slightly, she still stood firmly beside Gong Jinyao.

Seeing this, Lin Yuexi and Su Yue had no choice but to get out of the car one after another.

Su Yue's legs were weak and she could barely stand. She grabbed Lin Yuexi's arm tightly, her nails almost digging into her flesh. Her voice was trembling and fearful: "Yuexi, what's going on?"

Lin Yuexi patted Su Yue's hand gently, trying to give her some comfort and strength. At the same time, she stared at everything around her with a sharp gaze, her brain working rapidly, looking for a way to escape.

In an instant, the crowd that had surrounded the jeep seemed to have received some kind of instruction. They quickly split into several groups and surged towards the four of them like a tide, forming four teams.

Each team surrounded one of them tightly, their faces full of hunger and desire, and they kept shouting, "Give us something to eat, we are starving to death!"

"Please have pity on us, the children at home are starving!" The voices rose and fell like a surging tide, one wave after another, almost breaking people's eardrums.

Some old men with disheveled hair and ragged clothes, leaning on worn-out canes, trembled and approached, stretching out their skinny hands, their eyes full of pleading;

Several dishevelled women were holding skinny children in their arms. The children were crying weakly and miserably. While the women were coaxing the children, they were crying to Lin Yuexi and the others about the difficulties of life.

There were also some young and strong men who also had hungry looks on their faces, but their eyes revealed an unusual cunning and ferocity. They stood on the periphery of the crowd, forming a circle that left no place for people to escape.

Lin Yuexi was caught off guard by the chaotic and dangerous situation. She quickly scanned the surroundings and saw the crowd surrounding the four of them like a surging tide. Every face was filled with anxiety and madness. The shouting and crying mixed together, making her eardrums hurt.

The hands that reached out to them, some as dry as firewood, some as strong and powerful, all seemed to want to devour them.

Beads of sweat rolled down her forehead, her heartbeat accelerated sharply, and her brain was working rapidly, thinking about how to deal with the situation.

But before she could figure out what was going on, suddenly, a cold, hard object pressed against her lower back. Then, a stiff Chinese voice with an island accent rang in her ears: "If you want to ensure the safety of the others, follow me now..."

Lin Yuexi's body suddenly stiffened and she held her breath instantly.

Unexpectedly, the island country's spies hid so deeply. Gong Mufeng had already destroyed their lair. Yet, someone still dared to arrest her.

She subconsciously wanted to resist, but she caught a glimpse of Gong Jinyao's frightened eyes, Su Yue's trembling body, and Ye Shihan's face who was trying to be calm but couldn't hide her worry, and the cry that was about to come out of her mouth was swallowed back.

She knew very well that these people were obviously well prepared and their target was clearly her. If she was not careful, the defenseless people around her would be in danger.

She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, and spoke slowly: "What do you want to do? If you have anything to do, come to me, don't hurt them."

"Lin Yuexi, you should know what we want to do..." the man with the gun said as he pushed her hard, motioning her to move forward.

Lin Yuexi gritted her teeth, and then walked slowly and with difficulty, step by step, towards the passage made by the crowd.

With every step she took, she was thinking about how to get out of the predicament and how to quickly hide in space.

As she walked, she broke the pearl bracelet on her hand with force, preparing to discard it as a mark when they took her away.

At this moment, Gong Jinyao, who was surrounded by the crowd, suddenly discovered that the crowd surrounding Lin Yuexi was like a surging tide, slowly moving towards the distance, and Lin Yuexi's figure gradually became blurred in the constantly moving crowd.

As the crowd moved away, the pressure that originally surrounded them seemed to be gradually decreasing. However, this strange calmness made Gong Jinyao feel an unprecedented sense of crisis.

She subconsciously looked around, and was shocked to find that the people around her were slowly decreasing one by one along with the flow of people. A strong sense of uneasiness instantly enveloped her completely.

"No, there must be something wrong!" Gong Jinyao screamed wildly in her heart, her hands clenched into fists uncontrollably, her nails deeply embedded in her palms, but she didn't feel any pain at all.

"Sister-in-law, where are you going?" Gong Jinyao could no longer suppress her inner fear and worry, and shouted at the top of her lungs. Her voice was sharp and urgent, and was particularly abrupt in the noisy environment.

Her eyes were wide open and bloodshot as she stared straight in the direction where Lin Yuexi left. She instinctively wanted to catch up with her, but her legs seemed to be nailed to the ground, so weak that she couldn't move at all.

Her cries were instantly drowned out by the noise, and only her face filled with anxiety and despair stood out in the chaotic scene.

At the same time, Ye Shihan and Su Yue were flustered by the chaotic scene, and their hearts were filled with anxiety and fear.

The two of them had been pushed together by the crowd, standing back to back and leaning against each other, their eyes full of vigilance and panic. They kept glancing at the ragged, strange-looking crowd around them, trying to find a sense of security in this chaos.

At this moment, Gong Jinyao's sharp and urgent voice, "Sister-in-law, where are you going?" was like a thunder that cut through the noise and went straight into the ears of Ye Shihan and Su Yue.

The two were stunned at first, and then they were shocked as if they were hit by an electric current.

Ye Shihan widened her eyes, her eyes full of panic and disbelief, and subconsciously turned her head to look in the direction where Gong Jinyao was shouting.
