Chapter 46 The Situation Has Changed

The Minister of the Court of Judicial Review immediately had the letter brought to Jiang Mubai. When Jiang Mubai saw the contents, his eyes were filled with shock.

This is indeed Su Xuerou's handwriting.

How could Xue Rou, a frail woman, do such a thing?

"Lord Jiang, are you still going to protect this Miss Su even now?"

The Minister of the Court of Judicial Review asked Jiang Mubai.

Jiang Mubai remained silent. Even though he didn't believe it, the evidence was right in front of him, leaving him no way to explain. He could only watch helplessly as Su Xuerou was taken away.

Su Xuerou's eyes were filled with terror. She never expected that Ye Jintang would actually produce evidence, including her own correspondence.

How did that bitch manage to do that?

"Lord Shen, then there's nothing more for me to do here?"

Ye Jintang asked.

"nature."

Ye Jintang nodded and turned to leave Dali Temple. Jiang Mubai saw that things had developed to this point, and there was no point in him staying at Dali Temple any longer.

He followed closely behind after Ye Jintang left.

The two left Dali Temple one after the other. Just as Ye Jintang was about to get into the carriage and leave, Jiang Mubai quickly stepped forward and reached out to block Ye Jintang's way.

"What does Your Excellency mean by this?"

Ye Jintang narrowed his eyes slightly, a hint of coldness flashing in them.

"What do you mean?" Jiang Mubai sneered. "Ye Jintang, shouldn't I be asking you that? What exactly happened today, and what methods did you use to obtain the letter?"

"You should explain these things to me clearly."

"Hasn't Your Excellency already seen the contents of the letter? Is there anything you don't understand?"

Ye Jintang sneered, her tone full of disdain, and looked at Jiang Mubai with a mocking expression.

"Or is it that the Marquis is illiterate, and simply doesn't get enough of looking at the texts, so he needs someone to read them aloud?"

"Ye Jintang, don't be so presumptuous!"

Jiang Mubai couldn't stand it most when people challenged his bottom line again and again. If the other party was of a higher status than him, then it would be fine.

But Ye Jintang is just an ignorant woman, so why is she so arrogant?

Just as Jiang Mubai was about to get angry, Ye Jintang's expression changed, and she looked around warily.

She had just sensed a malevolent aura entering the Dali Temple.

not good.

Ye Jintang sensed something was wrong. He knew that Dali Temple was a place filled with all sorts of distracting thoughts, and for evil energy to appear here, something must have attracted it.

"Ye Jintang, are you even listening to what I'm saying?"

Seeing Ye Jintang looking around absentmindedly, Jiang Mubai became even more annoyed. He was about to say something more when Ye Jintang turned around.

Jiang Mubai would not give Ye Jintang a chance to leave.

"Get out of the way." Ye Jintang frowned, a murderous intent already surging in his eyes.

When Jiang Mubai met Ye Jintang's gaze, he was somewhat surprised. He had been on the battlefield and was considered a military general, so he knew all too well what such a gaze meant.

It's truly perplexing how such an imposing presence could appear on a woman, especially since it's related to Ye Jintang.

"Get out of the way."

"Ye Jintang, if you don't explain yourself clearly today..."

Before he could finish speaking, Jiang Mubai's expression turned horrified; he realized he couldn't make a sound.

Most importantly, he was also unable to move his body; only his eyeballs could still move.

Ye Jintang sneered, "So noisy!"

She pushed Jiang Mubai aside, and with a thud, Jiang Mubai, whose body was stiff, fell to the ground.

"Madam Ye, what's going on with Lord Jiang...?"

The guards were startled by the scene and wanted to go forward to check the situation, but they saw Ye Jintang already walking towards them.

"Since his return, the Marquis has been suffering from a chronic ailment that requires three hours of exposure to the scorching sun to alleviate, but this weather..."

Ye Jintang sighed softly, "You don't need to worry about it. The Marquis will get up naturally when he's had enough of lying down."

The guards were surprised to hear Ye Jintang's words, but the woman in front of them was Jiang Mubai's wife, and this was outside the Dali Temple, so she wouldn't harm Lord Jiang.

"Don't worry, Madam Ye."

Ye Jintang curled her lips and glanced in Jiang Mubai's direction.

Given Jiang Mubai's current condition, he might not be able to move for even five hours, let alone three.

She didn't originally intend to take action directly, but some fools insisted on coming to her, so she couldn't blame anyone else for the outcome.

Jiang Mubai was furious, especially after hearing what Ye Jintang said to the guards.

She actually left like that; how dare that vicious woman?

Ye Jintang had already entered the Dali Temple. Because of what had just happened, most of the guards inside recognized her.

Upon seeing her return, he asked with a puzzled expression, "Madam Ye, is there anything else you need?"

"I..." Ye Jintang was about to reply when she felt the surge of malevolent energy again. With that bead, she had a stronger sense of the outside world, especially regarding malevolent energy.

She pointed in another direction and asked the guard, "Where is that?"

The guard looked in the direction Ye Jintang pointed and replied, "That's the direction of the prison."

"A prison...?" Ye Jintang hesitated. "Could you take me there to see it?"

"This..." Faced with Ye Jintang's request, the guard hesitated. "Madam Ye, this is probably not in accordance with the rules."

“Then go and report to Lord Shen,” Ye Jintang said.

She only learned from the last time that this Minister of Justice, Lord Shen, was one of Ye Ling's people. In addition, with the token that Ye Ling gave her, these things were able to go so smoothly.

"Please wait a moment, Madam Ye."

The guards then went inside and reported Ye Jintang's request.

Lord Shen came out with his guards and bowed to Ye Jintang upon seeing her.

"Madam Ye, what brings you to the prison? Is it perhaps for that Miss Su?"

He was shocked when he saw Ye Jintang take out the Regent's token, and then asked His Highness for confirmation. His Highness's statement that Ye Jintang's orders came first left him incredulous.

As a result, he became more respectful towards Yip Kam Tong.

Ye Jintang smiled. The matter of evil energy was too far-fetched. If he hadn't seen it with his own eyes, he probably wouldn't have believed it even if it was explained.

Since Lord Shen has mentioned Su Xuerou, we might as well go along with it.

"Would Lord Shen be willing to grant this request?"

Ye Jintang asked.

"No problem at all," Lord Shen replied immediately, and ordered someone to take Ye Jintang to the prison.

Strangely, she circled the prison area but found no trace of malevolent energy, even though it was heading in that direction.

"Madam Ye, do you feel there's something wrong?"

Seeing Ye Jintang looking around with doubt in her eyes, the guards she led asked her a question.

"No." Ye Jintang shook his head. Since he hadn't found anything unusual, there was no need to stay here any longer.

Just as she was about to leave, she heard a roar behind her.
