0074 074 Since we haven't met for a year

Five days have passed in April this year, and this is already Song Yusheng's third visit to the Xuan Sha Club this month.

She's been in the industry for about half a year now, but she's only made three or four serious appearances. The rest of the time she's here, busier than a hostess.

She drank and drank, until she lost count of the bottles, but she couldn't find any so-called resources. Sometimes, when she came back to the private room after vomiting in the bathroom, she would see the young proprietress of the club casting a sympathetic look at her.

She's gotten used to it, but when she can't sleep, she sometimes feels envious. How come everyone else lives such an easy life? She also wants to stand upstairs and watch the clown-like people coming and going below.

Her manager was called Sister Lu, who was only a year older than her and was still a headstrong newcomer. However, she had a very famous mentor named Wen Tiange, who had mentored Xie Hanci, the most famous and accomplished female star of the previous generation.

Although she had heard all those boastful words, no one cared about such empty fame in private. She wondered if she dared to repeat the things Sister Lu had told her to Xie Hanci.

"Do you know how Xie Hanci rose to power? It was in places like this, in places like this. My master, Wen Tiange, personally brought her here. Look how open she is, she hooked up with a big boss in one go. Now, her family and career are the envy of everyone. Although we don't have such big bosses here, we always have some small backers, right? You can't still be so concerned about saving face. You have to take off your clothes when it's time to take them off. You can put them back on outside. No one outside knows what's going on here."

"Sister Lu, my dad..."

"Little sister, what time is it? You're still thinking about your father. He doesn't even know where he is now. How can he have time to care about you? Besides, even if your family is at its peak, you're not the most powerful person in this industry. These days, who in the industry doesn't have some money? People don't care about money anymore. They care about this."

She twisted her wrist and stared at Song Yusheng's expression. The little girl was still stubborn, which made Sister Lu feel frustrated and disappointed.

"No, is your family as powerful as Tang Qian's? No, right? Then you can't use that kind of expression to get by in the entertainment industry, you won't earn a single penny."

"Sister Lu, do you all address your seniors by their first names in private?"

“My dear lady, this is the real world, not a game. Those empty formalities are completely useless.”

Seeing that she couldn't reason with her, Sister Lu pulled another outgoing girl into the group of men. Soon, loud laughter came from over there, completely covering up her sobs.

The clothes she wore were like her skin; once they were removed, you could see the flesh and blood underneath. She wanted to come into this world intact and leave it intact, but her mother on the sickbed couldn't wait any longer.

She placed her hand on her collar and pulled it down forcefully. The next second, a cold wine glass was placed on the back of her hand.

"Hey pretty girl, why are you all alone? Is your neck itchy? Let me take a look."

The boy in front of me had a youthful face and wore a clean, casual white T-shirt, which seemed out of place in this place with its flickering, dim red lights.

He might even be younger than her.

Whose young master is this, running around having a good time, his face clearly showing his ignorance of human suffering?

Song Yusheng shook her head, not wanting to say anything more to him.

"No, I know you. You work for my uncle's company. He's already helped you get a lot of resources. He definitely thinks highly of you. Don't come to these kinds of events anymore. Just focus on filming. If you need anything, just tell me."

His eyes were incredibly sincere, and he even took her hand, which he had rubbed red, and gently applied ice to it.

Despite being surrounded by men, Sister Lu somehow picked up on the conversation. She pushed the girl away from her and ran to the boy with a smile, offering him a glass of wine.

He didn't look at her, nor did he answer.

He was right. As soon as she returned to the company, several dramas were lined up for Song Yusheng to film. During the filming period, she was also given a lot of other activities, which immediately made her quite famous. She never went to that club again, except for two crew dinners.

She maintained a strange relationship with that boy. She told him many secrets, but didn't want to understand him at all. He was like a holographic projection of a message in a bottle, allowing her to release some of her worries without any burden.

Having endured the hottest month of July, the crew wrapped up filming ahead of schedule. This was her first television drama, and she had never imagined that she would one day be doing such a thing in public.

She wanted to tell her mother that she had money and wouldn't have to worry about next month's or this year's hospital bills, but she was already unconscious and didn't recognize her even when she was conscious.

The boy noticed she was in a bad mood, so he suggested taking her out to relax. That afternoon, they rode the roller coaster fifteen times at the newly built amusement park in Jingyang, enjoying it so much that their scalps almost detached from their skulls.

Song Yusheng hadn't laughed so happily in a long time. She helped the boy who couldn't stand up, and her laughter echoed in the air.

"Have a good laugh, laugh out loud. Once the show airs, you'll be a big star, and you won't be able to have so much fun outside anymore."

"So what? Even big stars are still human."

"So cool! Let's go, I'll treat you to dinner."

They had reached the entrance to the restaurant when the boy, embarrassed, scratched his head and tried to explain to her.

"It's like this, my uncle, who's the boss of your agency, lives nearby. He said he wants to come over with me, you see..."

"Boss, sure, let's go together. I should thank you, boss."

As the elevator reached the private room, Song Yusheng straightened her clothes and tidied her hair. The waiter opened the door, and the owner was sitting in the middle, looking up at her.

Her eyes met Su Shaojin's directly.

The boy squeezed in from behind her, enthusiastically making arrangements.

"Uncle, this is your company's big star, a rising star, Song Yusheng. What a lovely name, young lady! This is my uncle, who is also the boss of your company. He's the one who secured those roles for you."

There was no surprise in Su Shaojin's eyes, only composure. He calmly watched this farce, calmly wanting to see her make a fool of herself.

She casually stepped forward and extended her hand.

"Hello boss, I'm Song Yusheng, a newly signed artist."

Su Shaojin stared at her hands, then at her face. He didn't even stand up; he just remained silent and motionless.

"That's just how he is, weirdly gloomy, it's nothing, it's nothing."

The boy tried to smooth things over by pulling out a chair for her and pressing down on her shoulders to make her sit down.

"Uncle, when will the food be served? We've been wandering around all afternoon and we're starving."

Su Shaojin waved to the waiter in the private room, and the dishes he had ordered were immediately placed on the table. Almost all of them were things that Song Yusheng loved to eat when she was in China, but hadn't had for a long time.

The two of them faced each other without speaking, with only the boy in the middle making small, back-and-forth remarks. Su Shaojin responded with "uh-huh" and "yeah," while Song Yusheng cautiously chimed in with a few words.

Seeing that the bowl in front of her was empty, Su Shaojin spoke to him.

"Xiaoxin, go upstairs and get me a bottle of wine."

"Hmm... okay."

The boy stuffed a piece of meat into his mouth and walked out.

The door closed with a click of the lock, which was drowned out by the sound of Su Shaojin opening the champagne. Song Yusheng didn't hear it, but their alone time together made her very uncomfortable.

Su Shaojin poured himself a glass of wine and watched her as he drank it.

"My nephew, Su Tianxin, is two years younger than me."

"……oh."

"How thoughtful, isn't it?"

“I don’t know him well, but Mr. Su is indeed a very gentlemanly man.”

"A gentleman? He's a gentleman, what a joke."

Song Yusheng stopped responding, and Su Shaojin irritably downed one cup after another, but Su Tianxin still hadn't returned.

She picked up her bag and was about to get up.

"Mr. Su, I'm sorry to have bothered you today, I need to go back now..."

"Sit down. Who told you to move?"

His tone was particularly harsh, but at least Song Yusheng looked up at him, her eyes showing the familiar unhappiness that made him feel better.

"Why do you look so angry? These newbies don't have much ability, but they have quite the temper. Didn't he tell you that I'm your boss and your sugar daddy? Is this how you treat me?"

Song Yusheng kept suppressing her anger, but her chest was churning with increasing discomfort. She could tolerate the greatest malice from strangers, but she could not accept being toyed with by acquaintances.

But she couldn't bear it.

"No, Mr. Su, it's my fault. I was afraid of taking up your time."

"I'm not busy, I have plenty of time."

"Then, Mr. Su, what do you want me to do?"

As she spoke of President Su, Su Shaojin's clenched fingers grew whiter and whiter, yet he maintained a cold smile on his face.

"You've changed a lot in just a few years. Your face has become even more beautiful; you're old enough to be a hostess at a bar."

Song Yusheng gripped the hem of her skirt tightly with her hands under the table, leaving several red marks on her knees. But she couldn't feel any pain now, only a dizzying haze in her mind. All that was left in her body was a breath of air, allowing her to sit upright.

Su Shaojin, on the other side, was still making sarcastic remarks.

"But I heard that your business seems to be not doing so well. You drank so much, how come you didn't manage to get a single resource?"

He drank another glass of wine, and his eyes looked red.

"Weren't you supposed to be so principled back then? How could you be willing to work as a hostess? You could have given me everything if you had just kissed me. Where has your principled spirit gone now?"

As the last word fell, the cup in his hand was smashed to the ground, shattering into pieces.

"Shouldn't people be more principled when they are in adversity? If you don't want my help, then take off your clothes and beg someone else. Your body is your asset, isn't that what your parents taught you? But now that I've helped you, you should repay me. Come on, stand up and come over here."

Song Yusheng stood up stiffly and walked towards him, stopping five steps away. Su Shaojin stretched out his arm, pulled her over, and pressed her down onto the chair next to him.

"Did you sleep with him? What about Yang Xun? You ignored the person who could have saved you beforehand, but you're all eager to cling to him afterward. Everyone says you should be the most proper wife of the next generation, but it turns out you're such an ungrateful person. What did your parents teach you? How do you serve men in bed?"

Song Yusheng closed her eyes in pain.

"Did they teach you how to serve men other than your husband?"
