Chapter 124: Proud White Moonlight 17 The Sixth World Ends
Jiang Ye did not apply to Hua University in the end, but chose a comprehensive university in the province, Tokyo University.
When Ali heard the news, he was walking with Jiang Ye downstairs in the hospital. He was so angry that he stopped walking and just stood there and scolded him for half an hour, being quite eloquent.
Although the University of Tokyo is also one of the top-ranked schools, it still lags behind the University of South China. Moreover, Jiang Ye's score is more than enough to apply to the University of South China, so there is no need to downgrade to choose the University of Tokyo.
Ah Li placed his hands on his hips with a fierce look, his brow furrowed. He wondered: How could someone be so incapable of planning their future? Couldn't they tell the difference between good and bad?
Jiang Ye was so overwhelmed by her barrage of words that he simply closed his ears and listened attentively. After she finished, he handed her the water cup he had with him and smiled ingratiatingly, "Have some water. Look, your lips are dry from talking."
He couldn't help but defend himself: "Actually, I think Dongda is pretty good. Huada is so far away, why would I go there?"
Ah Li was furious after hearing this and snatched the cup away. "Jiang Ye, I really want to pry open your brain and pour out the water inside. Is distance a problem? You're clearly making excuses!"
Jiang Ye's eyes widened, and he continued to be stubborn: "What's wrong? I'm homesick, is that not okay?"
Ali choked and looked at him as if he was a fool: "Really? Then why don't you stay in Rongcheng for the rest of your life and never leave?"
After the heart surgery, her temper also recovered along with her physical condition.
Or maybe this is her true character, without so many self-constraints and pressures, more like a lively person.
Jiang Ye had long been accustomed to her changes and wanted to help her sit down on a bench by the roadside: "Don't be angry, the doctor said you can't have too big mood swings in the future."
Ali dodged his hand, sat over, turned away and ignored him.
Jiang Ye shamelessly approached, but Ali hid three feet away.
He was at his wit's end, keeping his distance from her politely, and smiled helplessly, "Would you listen to my explanation first? Huada is indeed the best school in the country, but the major I want to study, marine science, is the flagship major of Dongda, and even Huada can't compare to it."
Ali seemed to stir, and finally turned his head. "You want to study marine science? Why haven't I heard you mention that before?"
Jiang Ye touched his nose guiltily: "I decided... in my second year of high school. Did I forget to tell you?"
Ali had a hunch that he was hiding something from her, but he couldn't figure it out at the moment, so he had to give up.
Seeing that her expression had eased, Jiang Ye quickly moved over and, while Ali wasn't noticing, quietly placed his hand on the back of the bench.
This posture seemed to have encircled Ali in his arms. He couldn't help but curl his lips, looking very satisfied: "Do you remember the first time we sat here?"
Ali thought for a moment and looked at him: "It seems like it was not long after the start of the first year of high school, when I injured my wrist?"
Jiang Ye nodded and sighed solemnly, "Time flies so fast. We have all graduated in the blink of an eye."
Ali glanced at him and said dimly, "You have graduated, but I haven't."
Jiang Ye was startled and immediately became nervous. He carefully observed her expression, thinking that his careless words had hurt her. "I said the wrong thing. I'm sorry."
Ali didn't expect that a joke he made would make him so nervous.
She was a little at a loss, pursed her lips, and said softly: "What are you saying sorry for? I'm not that sensitive."
Jiang Ye still restrained his smile and held her hand tightly: "Okay, I won't say anything."
Ali lowered his eyes, feeling a little sad for no reason.
The two of them sat in silence under the dense shade of the trees. Finally, Jiang Ye broke the deadlock: "I will be registering at the school in September, but don't worry, I will come back to see you often, and I will accompany you for every follow-up checkup."
"Remember not to lift heavy objects after you are discharged from the hospital and go home. Lie flat when you sleep. Get enough sleep every day. Don't do strenuous exercise within three months..." Jiang Ye kept talking, still worried about her.
He wrote down all the precautions given by the doctor in the notebook. Thinking that his grandmother was old and there would always be things she couldn't take care of, he went to Ali's house several times to arrange everything she needed and put them in a conspicuous place. He also wrote down the instructions for each item.
Jiang Ye talked about everything in detail, and he didn't even know when Ali leaned on his shoulder.
He felt a weight on his shoulders, and the hand he was holding loosened, then intertwined again. Then he heard Ali's voice: "Don't worry, I will take good care of myself."
Jiang Ye turned his head and could only see a little of her fair face. He couldn't help but hold Ali's hand tightly: "Yeah."
The wind blew the parasol tree behind them, making a pleasant rustling sound. The two of them snuggled together quietly, and no one spoke.

Nine months later, Jiang Ye left Rongcheng and Ali returned to school.
The feeling of going through her senior year of high school again was a bit strange and a bit uncomfortable for her.
She had already done those review questions several times last year, but as she listened to the teacher's explanation, she was able to draw inferences from one instance to another and discovered some new ideas.
She immediately shared these ideas with Jiang Ye who was thousands of miles away. She heard that they were undergoing military training, but within a minute of sending the message, Jiang Ye's message came back.
It was as if nothing had changed, and she could share her studies and life with him at any time.
But occasionally when he walked into the classroom and saw a bunch of unfamiliar faces, Ali would be stunned for a long time.
When she passed every corner of the school, she would think of the past and the people who walked by her side in the past.
The feeling of loss is something you only realize afterward.
A month after school started, Ali needed to return to the hospital for her first follow-up examination. Jiang Ye kept his promise and caught an early flight to show up downstairs of her house on time.
Ali ran down the stairs excitedly. When he was still a few steps away from the ground, Jiang Ye caught him steadily and held him in his arms: "Slow down."
The familiar mint scent lingered at the tip of his nose again. Ali buried his head in his shoulder, almost having the urge to cry.
Jiang Ye seemed to laugh, patting her back soothingly, then touching her head, still with that smug tone: "Tsk, you miss me that much?"
Ali nodded silently.
Jiang Ye hugged her tighter, pressed his lips against her soft hair, and said in a trembling voice, "Me too."
Only after they broke up did he realize how much he missed her and cared about her.
The two arrived at the hospital quickly. The results of Ali's follow-up examination were good and the doctor said she was recovering well.
Jiang Ye was visibly happy. He took her out for a big meal and watched a recently released movie, just like a date between lovers. He didn't send her home until night fell, reluctantly.
The night was as cool as water, and the two of them walked hand in hand on the road. Being with the person you love, even walking on the street seemed particularly interesting.
A year passed in the blink of an eye. During the days when Ali was taking the college entrance examination, Jiang Ye was squeezed in among a group of eagerly awaiting parents. He was even more nervous than when he was taking the college entrance examination himself. He was worried about her mentality and her health.
Fortunately, the two days passed smoothly. Ali didn't seem to have any special reaction. On the afternoon after taking the last exam, she suggested going out for a trip.
This summer vacation after graduating from high school should have been the most relaxing one, but Jiang Ye spent most of his time in the hospital last year, and the graduation trip that the two had agreed on before was not carried out.
Ali wants to fulfill this promise this year.
Although Jiang Ye was worried about her health, he did not refuse immediately.
He asked the doctor carefully, and even after getting a positive answer, he was still worried. He stayed up for several nights to make travel plans, ensuring that he would be as relaxed as possible and not overworked along the way.
A few days later, the two said goodbye to their grandmother and embarked on their first journey.
While traveling, Ali checked his results.
After repeating a year, she did better in the exam.
However, when filling out the application form, he hid it from Jiang Ye and refused to tell him which school he had chosen. No matter how Jiang Ye tried, he couldn't get the truth out of him.
This sudden situation made Jiang Ye unable to eat for several days. He couldn't help but wonder: Is she tired of him...
But in order not to affect the trip, he could only temporarily suppress the sourness bubbling in his heart.
*
It was the start of another school year. Ali didn't let his grandmother send him off, but carried his luggage and went to the new school to report.
The new school is very big. Ali took the freshman handbook and looked at the map on it but couldn't find the dormitory.
She dragged her heavy suitcase and wandered around the campus in confusion, her heart beating unusually fast and her face slightly pale.
A senior student from the orientation class spotted her and hurried over: "Are you a freshman? What are you looking for?"
Ali pointed at the map and said, "I'm a freshman majoring in Chinese Language and Literature. I want to go to the dormitory area."
"Ah, the dormitory of the Faculty of Arts," the senior student pointed her in a direction. "Do you see the fountain over there? Walk straight past it, then turn right and it's about ten minutes away."
Ali looked over and nodded: "Thank you, senior sister, I understand."
The senior student waved her hand and said, "It's okay, it's okay." As she spoke, she saw the suitcase next to Ali and thought of finding a male classmate to help her pull it over, but the new classmate walked so fast that he disappeared in a short while.
Ali walked forward according to the direction pointed by the senior student and soon arrived at the dormitory building. However, she did not stop, but continued to walk in that direction.
The streets were full of new students, chatting and laughing in groups of three or four.
A moment later, a sky bridge appeared in front of Ali.
She dragged the suitcase onto the bridge with great effort, took out her cell phone and made a call.
The phone was quickly picked up, and the boy's anxious voice sounded on the other end: "Hello? What's wrong? Is there something wrong?"
Ali paused and said slowly: "Come and help me carry my luggage."
Jiang Ye sat up from his bed in the dormitory with a start, somewhat confused: "Where are you? If I go there, it will take a few days."
As he spoke, he got out of bed: "Find a hotel first, don't move by yourself. Send me your address and I'll book a flight over right away."
Ali turned around and looked around: "I'm downstairs in your dormitory."
"Ah?" Jiang Ye stopped mid-step, "What do you mean?"
Ali held his phone and looked up at the dormitory area not far away. He said calmly, "It's Building 10 of Cuihu, right? I think I can see your dormitory building from the overpass."
Jiang Ye's mind went blank for two seconds, and he hurriedly climbed out of bed and rushed downstairs as fast as he could.
Neither of them hung up the phone, and Ali could hear a chaotic sound coming from his end.
He was obviously running very fast, and his panting sound came through the receiver, which made his ears feel a little numb.
Ali couldn't help but curl the corners of his mouth.
She listened to the sound getting closer and closer, and finally, the footsteps on the other end of the phone finally stopped, replaced by his clearer and more intense breathing.
"I...I'm here! Where are you?! I can see the overpass!"
Ali raised his head and looked towards the other side of the overpass.
Jiang Ye's figure was running towards him quickly from a distance, becoming clearer and more familiar.
He ran up the bridge, holding the railing with one hand, bent over and gasping for breath, holding the phone to his ear with the other hand, his eyes anxiously scanning the overpass.
The moment their eyes met, the surrounding noise seemed to disappear.
Jiang Ye's eyes were instantly filled with surprise. Without even saying a word, he moved his body and rushed towards her.
The boy's clothes were flying, and the strands of hair on his forehead were flying in a mess, but there was only one figure in his clear and bright eyes.
Ali stood there with a smile on his face, but before he could say a word, his body suddenly felt lighter.
"Ah!" She screamed in fright and subconsciously hugged his neck.
Jiang Ye laughed loudly, his eyes seemed to be filled with countless stars. He held her up with both arms, lifted her off the ground, and started spinning around with her in his arms.
The overpass, the blue sky, the teaching building in the distance... the whole world started spinning in an instant.
The wind blew quickly across her cheeks, lifting her skirt and hair. She felt dizzy, but Ali was strangely not afraid at all. Her heart was filled with joy.
"Jiang Ye, put me down! Put me down!" She laughed and shouted, her voice intermittent because of the rotation, but her arms around his neck tightened even more.
Jiang Ye laughed heartily, his burning body temperature and heartbeat transmitted through the thin clothes: "Ali! Be my girlfriend, okay?"
Ali's face flushed, and she deliberately refused to agree to him: "No!"
Jiang Ye wasn't angry, he just spun faster: "If you don't agree, I'll make you dizzy!"
He turned around several times before slowly stopping, but he still held her tightly, with no intention of letting go.
Ali moved slightly, and Jiang Ye let her go a little. Her forehead rested against his. Both of them were breathing slightly, and their breaths mixed with laughter.
Jiang Ye asked the same question again, his heart beating faster due to nervousness.
This time, Ali met his focused gaze and spoke in a low voice, but with unusual seriousness and clarity: "I promise you, I am willing to be your girlfriend."
The next moment, Jiang Ye's face blossomed into an extremely dazzling smile. He picked her up again and cheered: "Ali agreed to be my girlfriend! Ali agreed to be my girlfriend!"
"Jiang Ye!" She slapped his shoulder angrily and anxiously, but a smile from the heart was in her eyes. "Put me down quickly! There are so many people watching us!"
"I won't let go!"
On the overpass, a young couple was laughing and joking. The morning sun shone unreservedly on their faces and shoulders, and the moment was eternal.
