Chapter 64

Not long after, Shen Que felt his body getting even hotter. He couldn't stop trembling and could hardly hold on to the soft pillow.

"Are you feeling uncomfortable?" Xie Shiguan rubbed his ankle, rubbing the protrusion on the ankle bone until it turned red, and then laughed, "Just bear with it."

Shen Que then realized that he must have smeared something on the Ruyi, causing his hands and feet to be so weak that he could hardly use any strength, and his breathing was uneven. Then, sweat began to seep out of his forehead.

Xie Shiguan had no intention of punishing him now, considering that he was still sick and afraid of hurting his body, but Shen's eyes were so hateful that he should clearly love him, desire him, and obey him.

Why do you dare to be so cold and distant to him?

Xie Shiguan clearly still holds the other person in his arms, but his heart is empty. He always feels that this mute doesn't seem to love him anymore, but how dare he not love him?

For a whole year, he hadn't touched anyone else. I couldn't see him when I opened my eyes, but he was all I could see when I closed my eyes. I could only miss him through the little scent he left behind, I caught a glimpse of news from him countless times, I rekindled my hopes countless times, but they were all dashed again.

How can this mute understand?

Shen Que was now struggling on the couch, his eyes were wet, not sure if it was sweat or tears, while His Royal Highness Prince Yan just stood by and watched, took back the hand that was pressing on his ankle, and then refused to touch him again.

Those eyes should always be the same as they are now, with no time for indifference or disappointment. He also wanted to let this mute taste the feeling of insatiable desire.

"You look like a lowly person in that house..."

As if he was afraid that he couldn't hear clearly, Xie Shiguan deliberately leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Xiao Chang."

He lowered his eyes and looked at the mute with a red face, leaning on the mattress, looking so embarrassed.

As soon as he changed his posture, the soft pillow between his legs loosened, and his body relaxed, but he didn't feel any relief from the heaviness. Instead, he felt even more uncomfortable.

"Didn't I just tell you?" Xie Shiguan seemed to have foreseen this, his eyebrows curved, as if smiling, "If it falls out, you have to put another one in. How come you forgot so quickly, huh?"

This day.

The fever in the mute's body had subsided, but he was in and out of consciousness several times. After noon, even Xie Shiguan got up, but he was still asleep.

Xie Shiguan subconsciously grabbed his hand to reduce his fever, but the mute was very cold again. He didn't want to care about him anymore, but after putting on his outer robe, he couldn't bear it and took it off and folded it on the mattress.

Guyu, who was keeping watch in the yard, then went to ask Tao Yiru to come over. When Tao Yiru arrived in front of the bed, she saw the mess on the mute's body and knew what the man had done to him again.

"He's still sick," Tao Yiru was so angry that she lost her temper, "Can't you show some mercy and let him go?"

Seeing him like this, Xie Shiguan felt a little guilty, but he was unwilling to admit it. He just replied coldly: "He asked for it."

He felt that he was quite kind to the mute, so he buried the Ruyi back last night. He was going to keep his word and put another one in, but he had just squeezed half of the head in when the mute looked like he was dying.

Chen was feeling uncomfortable, and so he was also feeling uncomfortable, so he took out the jade ruyi and replaced it with his own.

He said he wanted to punish him, but after he knocked the man unconscious, he never did it again. The last time he did it was between his legs.

Tao Yiru checked Shen Que's pulse, and the look she gave Xie Shiguan was even more indescribable: "You're still giving him medicine?"

What on earth is this person thinking?

No wonder Shen saw him as if he saw a ghost when he was in town that day. If he hadn't been forced so hard by him, how could this mute be willing to leave his hometown and hide here?

"The fever has subsided," Tao Yiru took her hand back, "but his body is still weak. You knew he had a fever but still gave him medicine. You deliberately wanted him to die..."

Before she could finish her words, Xie Shiguan suddenly grabbed her collar and lifted her up. Xie Shiguan had no sense of morality at all. No matter whether the person in front of him was old, weak, woman or child, he would not show mercy.

"Aren't you meddling too much?" Xie Shiguan smiled. If the mute hadn't forbidden him, he would have asked Guyu to dig out her eyes long ago. It would have been fine if this woman didn't want to give up when she was ahead, but she even dared to contradict him here.

It would be fine if he just had to endure the anger of the mute, but how could this woman have the courage to blame him?

Tao Yiru was not tall to begin with, and when he lifted her up like that, she was immediately suspended in the air. She kicked her feet, but still refused to lower her head despite Xie Shiguan's gaze.

"My mother and I pulled him back from the brink of death. How dare you say that I am too lenient? He took medicine for more than a month after Silai was born. He just got better and now he has injured his leg and has a fever. But you still won't let him go."

"How much do you hate him..."

Xie Shiguan suddenly loosened his grip, causing her to fall to the ground, and then slapped her mercilessly.

Tao Yiru was stunned by the slap, her head was buzzing, but she heard the person on the couch suddenly move, and he struggled to crawl to the edge of the couch and reached out to help her.

Tao Yiru didn't want him to help her, but stood up by herself, holding on to the bed board. She was a straightforward person. Her parents were the only daughter in her family, and they had loved her very much since she was young. They had never restricted her or asked her to bow down to anyone.

Since she couldn't bear to watch it, she just said it straight. What's more, the mute was someone she had rescued with great difficulty. She and Shen got along well with each other. Knowing that he had not yet recovered and had a child to feed, she was reluctant to ask him to do any heavy work.

But the man in front of her didn't treat Shen Que as a human being at all. When the bachelor bullied her, the mute protected her. Now that the mute was bullied, how could she sit idly by?

However, Shen knew her temper, and even more so the prince's personality, so he reached out to grab the corner of her sleeve and advised her not to talk back.

He could hear the sounds just now, but he couldn't wake up, so he bit the tip of his tongue hard and tasted the blood, and then he could move.

When he stood up, a little blood came out of the corner of Shen's lips. He didn't notice it, but Xie Shiguan saw it at a glance. His anger disappeared immediately. He leaned over and opened his mouth without saying anything: "Did you vomit or bite it?"

But Shen didn't respond, so he pushed open his lips and reached in, pressing his teeth and tongue with his fingertips. After seeing the wound on the tip of his tongue that was still bleeding, Xie Shiguan breathed a sigh of relief.

"If you dare to give up your life, then I will not keep anything you cherish," Xie Shiguan released his lips and tongue, and then used a handkerchief to wipe the blood off his fingertips bit by bit, "I will send everything down to accompany you."

Tao Yiru's current confusion wore off, and her cheeks began to ache. After hearing the words "everything you cherish", she calmed down.

To these superiors, her voice was just like a mayfly trying to shake a tree or burrowing through ice to get fire. If she were alone, she wouldn't be afraid of anything, but she still had her mother and couldn't just ignore everything.

So she finally lowered her head, covering half of her face, and looked at the mute with distressed eyes, then whispered to him: "I'll go to the main room to get you some medicine."

Shen nodded, then gestured to her, "It's okay."

Tao Yiru didn't know whether she understood it or not, so she turned around and walked out with the medicine box.

If it weren't for hearing Tao Yiru's voice, Shen would have wished he would never wake up and never face the person in front of him again.

His Highness has everything, but he has no weaknesses, because His Highness values nothing and cherishes nothing.

He has nothing, but he cherishes everything. He has weaknesses all over his body. Such a greedy heart is probably born to be trampled on.

“Don’t hurt him, and don’t touch anyone else…” Shen half-knelt on the couch, raised his head, and pleaded.

"I'll obey you."

He was giving in to him like this, but Xie Shiguan inexplicably didn't feel any happiness in his heart.

For two days in a row, Xie Shiguan didn't come to force him again.

Only in the middle of the night, when he was drowsy and sleepy, he would hear the sound of a door opening, and then someone would crawl into the mattress, hug him tightly from behind, and the hands and feet that stretched out to him would be so cold that he would shrink inwards.

Apart from kissing and biting, His Highness never did anything excessive to him, even though he was so burned that he couldn't get off for a long time.

But when he woke up, the person who was pressing against him was gone again. Chen didn't want to face him, so he didn't try to find out where he had gone. After he felt better, he took Si to the yard to bask in the sun.

It wasn't snowing today, and the sun was bright and clear in the sky, shining its warm rays on him. The kid was rare not crying or making a fuss, and was looking around with his eyes open.

The pair of amber-gold eyes were not easy to notice in the house, but under the sunlight, they became a very conspicuous amber color. From the first time the kid opened his eyes, he had some hidden thoughts in his heart, but he didn't want to drag such a dirty matter onto His Highness.

He found countless excuses in his mind, telling himself that Lin Xie was Lin Xie and His Highness was His Highness.

If Xie Shiguan had not told him in person that night, he would never have believed it. Even if he found the mask under the robe, as long as the prince was willing to explain, even if it was a lie full of mistakes, he would help him deceive himself.

But the prince refused to even explain.

Just as he was about to take a few more steps toward the courtyard gate, he saw a man suddenly jump down from the roof of the side house, holding a scabbard and stopping him: "The master has ordered that you are not allowed to go outside."

"This door is three feet square. You'd better not come over." Xiaoman said coldly.

He stopped him and was about to go back, but suddenly he heard a sound of light footsteps coming from behind him. He turned around and saw Tao Yiru. After not seeing her for two days, the redness on her cheeks had faded, and she didn't seem to blame him at all: "Are you hungry? My mother and I have prepared some food in the kitchen, come and eat with us."

After that, she rolled her eyes at Xiaoman again: "This guy is very annoying. As soon as I approached the side house, he would jump down from the roof and stop me with a knife. This is clearly my house, but he won't let me walk around freely. How unreasonable."

After what happened that day, Chen always felt a little embarrassed to face her again. Although it was His Highness who beat her, it was also he who harmed her. She was kind enough to take him and Silai in, but he brought her nothing but trouble.

Tao Yiru seemed to have seen through his thoughts. She didn't ask him any more questions. Instead, she grabbed his sleeve and led him into the main room.

"Just killed crucian carp, stewed in hot water, sprinkled with water celery, I'm so hungry," Tao Yiru kept smiling, as if what happened a few days ago had never happened, "Aniang made it especially for you, if you hadn't come, she wouldn't let me taste it."

Tao Yiru chatted and laughed with him as usual, and the old lady served him a bowl of fish soup, which was milky white and garnished with a few fresh green water celery leaves.

Take a bite and you’ll find the saltiness and freshness are just right.

Chen's nose felt sore and he could no longer hold it back. The grievances in his heart burst out and his tears fell into the bowl of soup.

The old lady was stunned at first, then she stood up and patted his back: "You are burned, are you burned? Don't cry, kid, wait until it cools down before eating, don't be in a hurry, don't be in a hurry."

The more she said this, the more Shen couldn't hold back. He would rather they blame him, scold him, and distance themselves from him.

The better Tao Yiru and her daughter treated him, the more he felt like a bastard. They had been living a good life in this water town, but they had been dragged down by an uninvited guest like him.

He raised his hand, touched his forehead, lowered his head slightly, and then lowered his palm, tapping his heart twice with his little finger.

Tao Yiru understood the gesture. The mute was apologizing to them. Seeing his head lowering and his hands refusing to stop, the old lady pulled out a handkerchief from her sleeve and wiped the tears from his face: "Don't cry. No one blames you, Xiao Shen. We don't blame you. We know it's hard for you too. If you keep crying, the food will get cold. Let's eat first."

The handkerchief was warm, carrying the old lady’s body temperature and a hint of dry osmanthus scent.

Tao Yiru had never seen him like this before. She was stunned for a long while before she lowered her voice and said to him, "Mother is right. It was that beast who did the evil. How could we blame you?"

In this small main room, no one laughed at him for crying so miserably, and no one blamed him. The two people who had only just met him treated him like a family member.
