The Mo family was thrown into chaos.
The person who went to sell breakfast had just returned to the gate of the courtyard when he bumped into someone coming out.
"Mother, what are you doing? What happened? Why are you so anxious?"
Old Master Mo was quick-witted and pulled Old Lady Mo back, preventing a collision.
When Grandma Mo saw them return, her eyes lit up. She told them to put their things down and leave quickly, "There's no time to say more, something happened to the mute girl."
Upon hearing that the mute woman was in trouble, the four of them put their things down in the yard and ran out the door.
After hearing the facts pieced together by several people on the way, Boss Mo's face instantly turned icy cold, and he pulled Mo Yunmei over.
"Tell me the whole story honestly! If you lie, the consequences will be severe!"
Mo Yunmei was intimidated by her older brother's imposing manner, but she thought that with such a high cliff and so many trees, she would definitely not be able to come back if she fell, so she chose to lie again.
No one was in the mood to investigate the truth. They were worried about Su Nanxi because she couldn't speak or call for help, and she might not be able to hold on for long.
Apart from Mo Dongcheng, who was left behind to follow Mo Qinghe, the rest of the Mo family went up the mountain to look for people.
When the villagers heard about it, some followed along and told their children to go home and get more people to help.
So, groups of people went up the mountain and kept calling out "Dumb Girl," searching every possible place, but they couldn't find any trace of her in the vicinity.
Mo Yunmei kept changing her mind, saying one place after another. Half a day passed, and she led everyone to search the entire vicinity. They had almost trampled the grass to pieces, but they found nothing.
The crowd called out again and listened intently for a while, but still found nothing.
In the end, everyone was exhausted.
Mo Qinghe couldn't go out with them, so he slapped his leg hard. A cold, oppressive atmosphere enveloped him, and even Mo Dongcheng kept his distance.
Waiting is always agonizing.
Mo Qinghe hated that he still couldn't walk. His legs were much better, and he could walk a few steps slowly, but he was unsteady and needed a lot of willpower to walk without a cane.
If he could leave, he wouldn't be stuck here waiting, unable to do anything!
He suddenly felt very regretful, realizing that he should have practiced walking for two hours every night so that he could learn to walk faster.
The thought of her falling from the cliff and tree, crying out in vain, made his heart ache.
Mo Dongcheng was almost crying with fear. He didn't want to be at home, and he didn't want to stay with his third uncle! His third uncle was too scary; his face was black, and his eyes were red, like a monster that ate children!
As the sun began to set, the people who had gone into the mountains returned. Not seeing Su Nanxi, Mo Qinghe finally couldn't hold back any longer, spitting out a mouthful of blood and fainting.
The Mo family was thrown into chaos once again.
While the villagers were searching for her on the mountain, Su Nanxi heard them but couldn't respond. She came up from below, and as she approached the ground, she heard Mo Yunmei's words and stopped. She wanted to see how they would react.
I'm quite relieved that so many villagers helped look for her. She followed these people back, but simply didn't show herself.
Mo Qinghe's reaction was beyond her expectations. She never expected Mo Qinghe to react so strongly. When she saw him vomiting blood, she almost rushed over, but she held back in the end.
Someone went to fetch Doctor He.
When Doctor He heard about Su Nanxi's disappearance and then about Mo Qinghe vomiting blood, he probably knew what had happened; it was most likely that he was so angry that he had suffered a stroke.
He took the patient's pulse, and it was indeed the case. He prescribed two doses of medicine, glanced at the Mo family's house, and left.
The Mo family was shrouded in gloom, and no one spoke a word.
With great difficulty, the family had just begun to improve thanks to the arrival of the mute woman, and the business was getting better and better. But then this happened, and they can't find her. What should they do?
Mo Yunmei was not among those who were worried.
When she realized that Su Nanxi really wasn't coming back, she was so happy she almost jumped for joy. "You stole my affection! You didn't love your aunt!"
She felt that as long as Su Nanxi was gone, she would still be the most favored in the family, and her family would soon indulge her and give in to her as before, and would not bear to scold her!
That ugly girl is not good enough for her third brother at all; only someone as good as Sister Qiuxia deserves him!
Sister Qiuxia is right, Third Brother deserves someone better! Third Brother's wife can't be of low quality! The Mo family can't have a daughter-in-law of dubious origin!
In the dead of night, the village fell into silence.
The Mo family planned to get up early the next morning and search further down the mountain, hoping to find something. So they went to bed early to get some rest.
Su Nanxi came to Mo Qinghe's side and, by the moonlight, saw that Mo Qinghe looked unwell and seemed to have lost a lot of weight. Su Nanxi felt sad as well.
She sat down by the bed and gently touched his face; he had really lost weight.
Is this because of her?
Such a cool and handsome young man, if he could walk, would attract countless admirers!
Even though she looks ugly now, he doesn't mind her, which shows that she still holds a place in his heart, and that's enough.
She dared not ask for too much. Fate brings people together and fate separates them. In the end, life cannot escape parting. Cherish what you have while you have it, and have no regrets about having lived.
I habitually took his hand and gently stroked it. His hand was so beautiful; although it had some calluses, it felt comfortable to touch.
"The mute girl?"
Mo Qinghe felt someone stroking his hand and immediately thought of Su Nanxi. He opened his eyes groggily, saw Su Nanxi, and asked uncertainly.
Su Nanxi paused, realizing he'd been discovered.
Oh well, so be it if they found it.
She raised her head and looked at Mo Qinghe, who was happily struggling to get up.
"Mute girl, is it really you? Are you alright? Are you hurt anywhere?"
Mo Qinghe sat up and touched her face.
Su Nanxi shook her head; she was not injured.
Mo Qinghe was worried and looked Su Nanxi up and down. Finding that she was really alright, he hugged her tightly the next moment.
Su Nanxi was stunned, her hands outstretched, unsure of where to put them.
Mo Qinghe hugged her tightly, burying his face in her neck. Nini murmured, "Don't go, don't go. I don't want to wake up, because when I wake up you'll be gone. I miss you, mute girl, please don't go."
Sigh! She didn't intend to leave! She just won't be coming back for the time being.
She reached out and gently patted his back to comfort him.
Mo Qinghe hugged her tighter, her voice a little aggrieved, and she said in a spoiled tone, "I won't let you go."
Su Nanxi smiled helplessly. He's usually such a cold and aloof person, how come he's acting like a little puppy now?
Afraid of a strong reaction from him, she let him hold her. He held her for a long time, until she felt her body going numb, before he finally let go of her.
Finally, she wrote "I won't leave, I'll stay with you" in his palm, which coaxed him to continue sleeping, but he would only fall asleep if he held her hand.
Su Nanxi felt like she was taking care of a child, coaxing an older child who needed to hold her hand to feel safe, and she had to pat him gently to get him to sleep!
When he woke up, the mute girl was indeed gone. Disappointed, Mo Qinghe closed his eyes again, not wanting to move.
The Mo family didn't make breakfast; they went up the mountain to look for someone again.
"Brother Qinghe, are you hungry?"
