Chapter Six: This is a Little Lucky Star!

Tang Wan worked quickly and soon cooked three bowls of instant noodles and brought them out.

It's quite obvious, however, that Tang Wan is biased.

Lu Ze craned his neck to look at his uncle's bowl, then at his own. All the indifference he had been putting on vanished, leaving only a childlike innocence. He muttered something under his breath.

"My uncle is such a grown man, why are you still giving him eggs?"

Tang Wan pretended not to hear, slowly climbed onto the stool, swinging her two short legs, which was quite clumsy.

But instead of asking for help, she just lay on the stool and swung her legs around.

Finally, Lu Lin had watched the commotion to his heart's content, so he picked up Tang Wan, put her on a stool, and the three of them began to eat in an orderly fashion.

Tang Wan had never experienced such an awkward situation.

Under normal circumstances, she was like a transparent shadow at Xinxin Orphanage; no one cared about her, and no one saw her.

What Tang Wan did most often was to take her small bowl, walk to a corner, and eat quietly.

But Tang Wan knew clearly that she didn't dislike this older brother teasing her.

He meant no harm.

Perhaps because she couldn't speak, Tang Wan was exceptionally sensitive to other people's feelings.

Even with the little boy who had just tugged at her, Tang Wan didn't sense any disgust from him.

Thinking of this, Tang Wan lowered her head, used a spoon with a fork tip to swirl the instant noodles in the bowl, and carefully put them into her mouth without spilling a drop of soup.

Looking at Tang Wan, Lu Lin felt as if he had forgotten something important.

Just as he was about to recall, he saw a pair of chopsticks reaching into his bowl from across the table.

Lu Lin rolled her eyes, picked up her chopsticks and tapped Lu Ze's bowl, saying irritably, "Eat your own food, why are you sticking your chopsticks into other people's bowls?"

Lu Ze sniffed, and said with a hint of grievance, "I didn't fry any eggs!"

"Ha!" Lu Lin exaggeratedly picked up his bowl, shoveled the two fried eggs onto the surface, and said boastfully, "Hehe, look, I have two."

However, the next second, Lu Lin froze, as if he had thought of something, and looked at Tang Wan beside him: "Didn't you give yourself one?"

Tang Wan looked up in confusion and shook her hand.

She doesn't need it.

She only needs to eat a little bit of instant noodles.

If she could stay here, she would eat even less.

She is very easy to take care of.

Looking at Tang Wan, Lu Lin couldn't quite describe how he felt.

It's like a burning heart soaking in plum juice.

It's both sour and sweet.

There was also a lingering bitterness.

What terrible thing did that orphanage do to make such young children know that they need to please others to survive?

Just as Tang Wan was about to continue eating, a whole fried egg suddenly fell into her bowl.

Tang Wan's eyes lit up slightly, and then she carefully cut the fried egg in half.

She picked up her fork, laboriously placed most of a fried egg in front of Lu Ze, opened her mouth, her face flushed, and hurriedly said, "Ah!"

Lu Ze blankly placed his bowl in front of Tang Wan and took the not-so-pretty fried egg.

Then he ate it solemnly.

Lu Lin raised an eyebrow in surprise upon seeing this.

Honestly, he didn't expect that the little devil from the Lu family would accept the thing on Tang Wan's fork.

You know, this brat looks down on everyone his own age, let alone little kids younger than him.

It's already a good thing that he didn't physically assault anyone.

but……

Lu Lin looked down at the obedient Tang Wan and thought it was normal for Lu Ze to act this way.

Who wouldn't pity such an obedient yet pitiful little rascal?

The assistant, standing at the villa's entrance, was carrying large bags and packages, followed by a huge truck, and his phone was ringing off the hook.

"Ugh! What is this guy doing? Why isn't he answering the phone! Didn't he ask me to buy something?"

When his assistant came in, Lu Lin had already eaten and drunk his fill and was sprawled out on the sofa.

He definitely wouldn't have eaten these junk foods before, since they're so high in calories. After all, he's a public figure and needs to maintain a certain image.

The assistant is someone who has been by Lu Lin's side since his debut, and they have a very good relationship.

Seeing Lu Lin's lazy demeanor, she said irritably, "Brother Lin, you took that kid away without even saying a word on VB?"

Lu Lin rolled his eyes, then rolled over and lifted Tang Wan, who was watching anime, off the sofa and into his arms.

He rested his chin on Tang Wan's head, nuzzling it like he was petting a cat, before finally speaking slowly, "Isn't this supposed to leave everyone in suspense?"

"Besides, Tangtang is so cute, can't I invite her to stay at my house for a couple of days?"

"Fine, fine, fine." What could the assistant do? He could only appease this troublemaker, otherwise, if he really angered him, he might just quit.

But the assistant remembered something else: "It's funny, everyone else is a father, but you're the older brother, Brother Lin."

"Moreover, because of your 'kidnapping' incident today, the production team is going to move up the filming time; they'll be here tomorrow."

Upon hearing this, Lu Lin frowned deeply and said with some irritation, "Can something that's already decided be changed so easily?"

"They're treating this like a joke. Who are the investors?"
