Chapter Sixty-Seven: We Are Friends Too

Standing outside the door, Fu Wenzhi observed the strange phenomena in the room, scrutinizing Tang Wan with his noble phoenix eyes.

no the same.

It's really different.

In Tang Wan's heart, it seemed that only Lu Lin was someone she could trust.

Fu Wenzhi quietly walked downstairs without disturbing the two of them.

He was just thinking.

Unlike Tang Wan's innate empathy, Fu Wenzhi was precocious but not as sensitive to people's emotions.

He is mostly rational in his actions and rarely lets his emotions get the better of him.

But Tang Wan was an exception.

Perhaps it was because Tang Wan couldn't speak, or perhaps it was because she looked like his pet Ragdoll cat, that Fu Wenzhi felt a greater sense of closeness to her.

In fact, it wasn't just Fu Wenzhi who was close to Tang Wan.

Tang Wan is loved by almost everyone; who wouldn't like such a well-behaved child?

Not to mention she's so beautiful.

Kids are attracted to good looks; they don't like things that aren't attractive.

Except for Su Jiajia.

Fu Wenzhi sat on the sofa, took out Guo Yueze's photo from under the computer, and then drew a faint cross on it.

"It seems we still need to send her back."

...

Inside the room, Lu Lin gently coaxed Tang Wan with great patience.

"I haven't even settled accounts with you yet, and you're already crying here."

Tang Wan blinked, her eyes, washed by tears, looking exceptionally bright.

Lu Lin simply ruffled Tang Wan's hair, messing up her neatly combed locks, and then said, "You're still running out so late, are you out of your mind?"

“There are a lot of bad people out there. If a well-behaved child like you gets caught, they won’t let you come back.”

"Tangtang, you can't keep doing this."

Upon hearing Lu Lin's words, Tang Wan slowly turned her head, looking as if she didn't want to hear them.

This wasn't the first time Lu Lin had said this to Tang Wan.

But Tangwan couldn't do it.

Useless children will be abandoned.

This is the lesson that Xinxin Orphanage taught Tang Wan, and it is also the way of survival that Tang Wan learned.

In order to survive in this bizarre and wonderful world, Tang Wan is doing everything she can.

Seeing Tang Wan's expression, Lu Lin knew that Tang Wan was not going to listen to him.

That's fine too.

This little brat, who has never had much self-respect, has now learned to rebel against those close to him.

Lu Lin was very pleased, so he took Tang Wan's matter seriously but let it go easily.

However, he made up his mind to equip Tang Wan with a children's watch and a GPS tracker when he got back, so that she wouldn't run around everywhere.

Tang Wan had no idea what she would face next, and before going to sleep, she clung to Lu Lin's clothes to stop him from leaving.

What can Lu Lineng do?

Of course, I'll stay and keep her company.

He patted Tang Wan on the back and sang an unfamiliar lullaby.

It was as if everything that fate had been stingy with in giving Tang Wan was being slowly returned to her by Lu Lin at this moment.

Tang Wan blinked and slowly closed her eyes.

I'm sure I'll have a good dream tonight.

She is certain.

...

The next day, just as dawn was breaking, Lu Lin knocked on the door, carrying a plate of burnt eggs and bread.

"Tangtang, come out for breakfast."

"ah!"

Upon hearing Lu Lin's voice, Tang Wan quickly responded and ran out of the room.

She was still wearing the same clothes Fu Wenzhi had worn yesterday; the oversized clothes made Tang Wan look even smaller.

Lu Lin glanced at it, then turned around and took out a large coat from the suitcase he had brought that morning.

It's a green frog outfit that looks like a small cake.

Tang Wan obediently put it on without any resistance.

Tang Wan knew that Lu Lin just wanted to cover up his scars.

These scars are unsightly.

More importantly, Lu Lin disliked being looked at strangely.

Tang Wan heard many voices saying that Lu Lin was not an easy person to get along with.

But for Tang Wan, Lu Lin was the best person in the world.

He is the gentlest.

Lu Lin also prepared breakfast for Fu Wenzhi and President Fu.

But none of them ate.

Only Tang Wan ate the dark bread without batting an eye.

It tasted burnt when it hit my mouth; it was really unpalatable.

But for Tang Wan, this was the best breakfast she had ever eaten.

She used to eat alone, but now someone prepares meals for her.

Do it yourself!

Cooking for yourself!

Tang Wan was practically wolfing down her food by the end.

She ate very voraciously, as if she were starving.

It was like someone who had been starving for many days finally getting food, or like a traveler who had been wandering in the desert for many days discovering an oasis.

No one laughed at Tang Wan; only Lu Lin placed a glass of warm milk in front of her.

He said in his pleasant voice, "I will learn to cook like you in the future."

Tang Wan slowly raised her head and looked at Lu Lin, who made an awkward sign language gesture towards her.

And that sign language means—

[Let's go home]

Tang Wan felt as if her heart was being soaked in acidic water.

She lowered her head and took a bite of the dark bread.

My mouth tasted bitter, but my heart felt sweet.

It's also a bit sour.

Her eyes were a little sore, but this time, Tang Wan didn't cry.

She didn't want to cry at such a beautiful moment.

Lu Lin continued, "We'll take a plane home later, and I'll take you to see your sister."

"And that kid Lu Ze, they left last night, leaving only our two families here."
