Chapter Sixty-Three: Save My Brother!

Hearing these sounds, Tang Wan felt a surge of panic.

In her hazy memory, she felt that these people's voices were somewhat familiar, which made her body tremble uncontrollably.

The little rabbit crawled in the dark, trying to find a place to hide.

I could almost hear a woman's voice in my head, her voice trembling with tears, comforting me.

—Sweetie, shall we play a game?

—Don't make a sound, stay quietly in this cabinet, and come out when it's light.

Tang Wan couldn't remember how she answered.

In a daze, a black space appeared in my mind.

She was inside trying to grab that woman.

But no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't catch her; she could only watch as she disappeared before her eyes.

But today, there is no one in front of her who resembles that woman anymore; she only has herself.

Tang Wan gritted her teeth and slowly moved her body, moving slowly in the darkness.

But the man's voice was getting closer and closer to her.

"Impossible, we've searched the area, there's no one here!"

"That's right, boss. This whole area belongs to us. How could there be anyone else here?"

"Pah." The guy called "Boss" seemed to spit on the ground, then shoved it into the ground, saying, "Didn't a TV crew come here to film around here recently?"

"It's become quite inconvenient for everyone to move around."

When is their production crew leaving?

The sound of a lighter being turned on was particularly jarring in the silent darkness. Tang Wan pricked up her ears to listen to their conversation.

"I heard from the aunt next door that it will take another half month."

"Half a month? That long? I don't know what's so interesting about filming in this godforsaken place."

"Su Yue's factory has been exposed. Let's find a new location."

"Aren't you going to chase them anymore, boss?"

"Why chase them? Those city folks are too cowardly to dare come here."

Tang Wan heard their voices suddenly disappear, but she did not let her guard down.

For some reason, a sense of danger kept raging in her mind.

My mind kept screaming, "Don't go out!"

Don't go out!

Hide it well!

Tang Wanzhen remained motionless in the darkness, huddled in a corner, her body covered in cold sweat. Her dark, grape-like eyes were fixed on the leaping flames in the distance.

Some of them actually looked quite composed.

After a while, the flames went out and fell onto the muddy ground.

Then he seemed to lift his foot and stomp on the ground a few times, suppressing the firelight in the darkness.

The footsteps were heavy, as if they had left the place.

However, Tang Wan did not act rashly.

Her vigilance and fear were amplified infinitely in the darkness.

This prevented her from immediately coming out of the corner.

In this extremely quiet environment, Tang Wan could even hear her own heartbeat.

Thump, thump, thump...

One blow after another, like a death warrant.

Suddenly, the man called "Boss" spoke again: "Tsk, looks like he's really not here. Let's search somewhere else."

"yes."

Tang Wan opened her eyes wide silently.

really!

His actions just now were a decoy!

They simply moved their feet in place, bluffing and waiting for themselves to walk out from the corner!

They pretended to leave, and if I couldn't resist stepping out from the corner, they would catch me!

Tang Wan heard their footsteps fading into the distance, and just as she was about to breathe a sigh of relief, a crisp phone rang.

This made Tang Wan's heart jump into her throat again.

At this moment, Tang Wan was extremely grateful that Lu Lin hadn't had time to buy her a children's watch yet; otherwise, once they realized she was missing and called, she really wouldn't be able to leave.

Someone answered the phone, speaking in a sleazy tone, "Hello? What's up?"

"Someone went past?"

"We just noticed someone walking this way!"

"You're saying we made a mistake? Who do you think you are?"

"A man in his twenties? Or from out of town? Is he part of the production crew?"

"Okay, okay, I got it, just wait and see!"

Upon hearing the boss's voice, Tang Wan covered her mouth with her hand.

Her eyes were wide open, and her eye sockets were incredibly red.

She took a deep breath, which was mixed with the pungent smell of tobacco.

But in my heart I was thinking about it.

In his early twenties, male, a member of the production crew...

That's not...

Lu Lin?!

I realized I'd gone the wrong way! I'd just missed Lu Lin!

Tang Wan heard their voices fading into the distance, and the last sentence reached her ears like some kind of bad news.

"Alright, go grab that guy and break his legs!"

"It's so annoying! Every time someone finds out, we have to move to a different place. Moving around like this is also a pain!"

When their voices completely disappeared, Tang Wan emerged from the darkness and ran back in the original direction without looking back.

The dirt, tears, and blood on her face mingled together, dripping onto the gray rabbit costume and then falling to the ground.

Like a spark that has just been extinguished, falling into darkness.

Tiny yet omnipresent.

In Tang Wan's mind, Lu Lin reached out to her and picked up her small and dirty self.

It was the way he hugged me, joked with me, and rushed to my side the moment I was injured.
