When Ji Ning arrived, she saw Song Yun sitting by the bed, watching over Shen Bai.
Shen Bai lay on the bed, his face pale.
"Quick, check on him! He suddenly vomited blood."
Song Yun didn't know how to explain Shen Bai's formation; it simply couldn't be explained from a scientific perspective.
Seeing the worried look on his face, Ji Ning could only take Shen Bai's pulse first.
Then he noticed that Shen Bai seemed to be fine, and in fact, his complexion gradually became rosy.
Seeing Ji Ning's solemn expression, Song Yun's heart jumped.
"What's wrong? Is it serious?"
As Song Yun spoke, she prepared to take Chen Bai to the hospital for a check-up.
Ji Ning replied:
"President Song, Young Master Bai seems to be alright. You see, his complexion is slowly improving."
In fact, it was improving at a speed visible to the naked eye, which Ji Ning also found strange.
What they didn't notice was that the small, earth-colored bead in Shen Bai's hand shimmered slightly.
"Really, you're alright?"
Song Yun gently placed his hand on Shen Bai's forehead. There was no fever, and his heart finally felt a little relieved.
"If Mr. Song is really worried, he can also take Young Master Bai for a full-body checkup."
Song Yun nodded.
"Go to your guest room and rest. Stay here tonight."
"good."
Ji Ning was not surprised by his words. Given how much Song Yun valued Shen Bai, he probably wouldn't let her leave the Song residence before Shen Bai woke up.
He was also familiar with the Song residence; ever since he returned from studying abroad, he had been invited by the Song family to be their private doctor.
His ancestors had served as imperial physicians in the palace, and their descendants had practiced medicine for generations.
His father had previously received help from Old Master Song, so he naturally became Song Yun's private doctor.
Of course, he was happy about it. Only with his older brother taking over the family business could he do what he loved with peace of mind.
Song Zhai's job was quite leisurely; he also worked at Peking University Affiliated Hospital, so he was quite content.
He went to the guest room he used to go to, but was stopped before he even went in.
"Ji Ning, how is my sister-in-law?"
Song Shuyao came out wearing a slip dress and a face mask on.
"Young Master Bai is alright."
"Oh, it's alright, that's good. Are you staying here again tonight?"
Ji Ning nodded.
"Miss, if there's nothing else, I'll head back now..."
"Something's wrong. I have a paper I don't understand. Let's talk in your room."
With that, Song Shuyao went directly to his usual guest room.
Ji Ning shook his head helplessly, but still followed.
Inside the room, Song Yun was still looking at Shen Bai.
A message suddenly came from VX.
Song Yun clicked on it, and it showed a picture of a residential building on fire.
[Mr. Song, a fire suddenly broke out in Xu Xiaoxiang's house, and his entire house was destroyed. Strangely, the other residents were unaffected. Xu Xiaoxiang suffered eye injuries and moderate burns all over his body; he is currently in the hospital.]
Song Yun narrowed his eyes and replied.
[Continue following along.]
He looked at Shen Bai lying on the bed and said softly:
Did you do this?
The person on the bed did not react, as if they were asleep as usual.
Song Yun lay down on the bed, held him in her arms, and looked at him.
In the morning, the sunlight shines in.
Shen Bai opened his eyes.
I'm hungry, time to eat.
Hearing Shen Bai's thoughts, Song Yun also opened his eyes.
"Awake? Is anything bothering you?"
Shen Bai was stunned for a moment.
Why ask this question?
He took the phone and typed:
I want to eat.
Song Yun had no choice but to not ask for the time being, and after helping him get dressed, she carried him to wash up.
At breakfast, it was just the two of them.
Song Yun peeled two eggs and gave them to Shen Bai.
Shen Bai ate his meal with gusto, then drank some porridge and ate some steamed buns...
He didn't look injured at all last night. Song Yun kept looking at him and asked:
"Xiaobai, did you know that Xu Xiaoxiang's house caught fire last night?"
Shen Bai shook his head decisively.
[I know, he deserves it. He actually tried to kill me. He's dead meat. I'll unleash a ghost to bite him to death.]
Shen Bai revealed what he thought was a fierce expression, opened his mouth wide, and took a big bite of the bun in his hand.
Song Yun couldn't help but smile as she watched his actions.
But when he thought of Xu Xiaoxiang, his eyes turned colder.
So, what kind of evil magic did Xu Xiaoxiang use to try to harm Shen Bai, and then Shen Bai retaliated against him?
Song Yun hadn't expected the child to have such abilities, but Xu Xiaoxiang hadn't died, and what exactly was that evil magic?
After much thought, Song Yun decided to visit Qingyue Temple whenever he had time.
But should we really send this child back?
He turned to look at the bewildered Shen Bai and reached out to rub his head.
It seems like two little people are fighting in my mind. One says, "Let him go back. He should go where he likes." The other says, "You should lock him up. She's your wife. You should keep her by your side at all times."
Shen Bai looked at Song Yun.
[This giant squid is so strange, why does its smile look uglier than a cry?]
Upon hearing this, Song Yun felt helpless. It was good; being simple-minded was also a good thing.
Once he deals with Xu Xiaoxiang, no one should be able to threaten the child anymore.
"Little Bai, do you want to go back to the Taoist temple?"
Going back to the Taoist temple? Of course I want to!
Shen Bai dreamed of going back, but when he looked at the little bun in his hand, he hesitated.
[After I go back, it seems I won't be able to eat these steamed buns and small cakes anymore.]
