Chapter 67: Has the Company Gone Bankrupt?

His tone softened a bit:

"Be good, once you're better, Little White will be able to eat little cakes again. Does Little White want to eat little cakes?"

Shen Bai nodded.

[I really want to try it; little cakes are so delicious.]

But the medicine tastes awful.

"Just two, and look, they were swallowed very quickly."

Song Yun had never been so patient before. If it were Song Shuyao, he probably would have just had Ji Ning force-feed her the medicine.

But the child in front of him looked aggrieved, with tears welling up in his eyes, how could he bear to do that?

There was no other way but to appease them.

With his persistent efforts, Shen Bai finally took the medicine, but he wanted to eat the small cake tomorrow.

Song Yun didn't refuse, but only agreed to have small cakes, without specifying how many small cakes.

It wasn't until the next day, when Shen Bai saw a small cake the size of a quail egg, that he realized he had been tricked.

There was only one small cake, which he could finish in one bite.

The key point is that Song Yun also said...

"Little Bai, this is the little cake I promised you. You can't be unhappy after you eat it."

Shen Bai looked at him in disbelief, wanting to be angry but not knowing how.

The giant squid did give him small cakes, but he wanted a lot, even though they didn't specify how many small cakes he wanted yesterday.

But, but...

Shen Bai frowned, unable to understand why he couldn't be happy even though there was a small cake.

I promised Song Yun I wouldn't get angry, so I can't get angry now.

He could only pout and open his mouth "fiercely" eat the small cake.

A smile appeared in Song Yun's eyes as she pushed the bowl of congee in front of him.

"Let's eat something light today."

Shen Bai looked at the table and saw that there were no pig's trotters or chicken feet that he liked, no soup dumplings or steamed ribs, and no fried milk that he wanted to eat.

She looked at Song Yun with big, confused eyes.

Why eat these things? Yesterday and today too.

Has the giant squid run out of money?

Song Yun pretended not to hear these words and calmly ate the millet porridge in front of him.

The children had an upset stomach yesterday, so they ate only this bland food all day.

Today was no different, and Song Shuyao, standing to the side, also had a bitter face.

Because it was her fault, Song Shuyao had to eat the same food as Shen Bai, and even all the snacks she hid in her room were confiscated.

"Eat more, Song Shuyao."

Just as she was thinking about whether she could add some pickled vegetables to the congee in front of her, Song Yun gave her a look, and the pickled vegetables she had secretly taken out of her hand were thrown away.

This pickled mustard greens was recommended to her by Ye Qianqian; she was thinking of taking it abroad to mix with rice next time.

The food abroad is really awful, sob sob sob. Now her brother definitely won't let her bring these things anymore. It's so hard for her.

Seeing this, Shen Bai shrank back and could only eat the porridge in his bowl in small bites.

You can't take your anger out on me, okay?

He quietly looked up at Song Yun, only to see the other man smiling at him.

Why is he smiling at me? Does he want to steal my porridge?

"No, no, if you're short of money, go earn some! You can't steal my porridge!"

He thought about it and realized that Song Yun hadn't gone to work for the past two days. Could it be that the company had gone out of business?

Is this the legendary bankruptcy?

He's so pitiful, going bankrupt at such a young age.

Shen Bai's gaze toward Song Yun suddenly turned to pity.

Song Yun paused for a moment, then picked up a steamed bun for Shen Bai, trying to ignore the child's inner thoughts.

"I'll take you out to play later."

Shen Bai stared blankly at him, then looked at the small buns in the bowl, picked them up and ate them in small bites.

Even though he went bankrupt, he still gave me steamed buns.

After slowly finishing his small steamed bun, he also put one on Song Yun's plate.

Eat more; even if you go bankrupt, you can't go hungry.

Song Yun: ...

Does he look like he's bankrupt?

Even after they left and got into the car, Song Yun heard the child's inner thoughts again.

It seems they really went bankrupt; there's nothing sparkly on the car.

The car I drove last time was taken in for maintenance; this time I'm driving an all-black Maybach.

Shen Bai subconsciously assumed that Song Yun had gone bankrupt and therefore couldn't afford Shan Shan's car.

Song Yun felt the pitying look in the little guy's eyes again.

Helpless, I could only reach out and pinch his soft cheeks. I don't know why this kid keeps thinking about these strange things all the time.

Shen Bai's phone rang, and Song Yun saw the message from Gu Yu, which made him frown.

Didn't Gu Yu block me? Why is he still online?

What he didn't know was that Gu Yu, knowing he couldn't send messages, thought Shen Bai had accidentally pressed the wrong button again, so he called to teach him how to remove himself from the blacklist.

Shen Bai has a bad memory and doesn't remember when he pressed the wrong button.

So Song Yun watched Gu Yu continue chatting with Shen Bai, gritting his teeth inwardly.

"Xiao Bai, is something wrong with your senior brother?"

Shen Bai shook his head decisively.

[Something's happened! He was chased by a mad dog to H country and now he can only eat kimchi. Poor senior.]

Song Yun: ? ? ?

A mad dog? Chasing him abroad?

Such an unfamiliar sentence.

But why does it always feel a bit strange?

Song Yun subconsciously glanced down at their chat.

Senior Brother Gu Yu: [Remember to stay away from those men in the capital; they're all bad.]

Xiaobai is not tasty: [I've never seen anyone called a man.]
