Chapter 59 Numb.59 I'm not doing well.

Xu Wu stared intently at the scene in front of him where Chen Yunrang and his sister were chatting happily. His eyes were sore from not blinking for so long, and he felt a tightness in his chest.

That person actually managed to show a smile that could be described as beautiful. Although it was just a slight upturn at the corners of his mouth, it was still much better than the ghostly smile he used to give her.

Realizing this, Xu Wu's expression turned even uglier, and she completely forgot her agent's advice to try and get to know some people.

The thought of Jie Ying's downgraded aesthetic sense, and how he himself couldn't even compare to that girl, almost made Xu Wu laugh in anger. Of course, he had no aesthetic sense whatsoever.

Xu Wu remained expressionless. The next second, she saw Chen Yunrang nod after hearing what Chen Wei had said, then turn around and wave at her.

Xu Wu, still sulking, slammed the wine glass down on the table and walked away.

The patter of shoes on the ground and the distance between them grew closer. Xu Wu coldly watched Jie Ying's expectant gaze, desperately suppressing the surging anger within her, her hands clenched tightly at her sides.

Why are you looking at her with that expression? Why does she look so much like that traitorous cat at home? The same sparkly expression, the same pitiful look, even her ears seem to have turned into ingratiating airplane ears.

Does this girl know what her boyfriend really is? In the end, that guy is just an annoying, disgusting freak, and Xu Wu maliciously slanders him in a self-destructive manner.

“You’re here,” Chen Yunrang said, pointing to Jie Ying, whose face was very tense. “He’s your fan, and a rather rare male fan at that.”

fan?

Xu Wu felt a little annoyed again. Was this how he saw himself? Especially Chen Yunrang's sister standing next to him, who acted like the empress, as if no one else was allowed to join them.

This is a very special magnetic field; there's not even a single point of entry to it.

Xu Wu glanced at Chen Wei with his dark gaze, but didn't even bother to spare a second glance for the yearning Jie Ying.

This is infuriating! My girlfriend is right there beside me, isn't she?

Did he reveal everything about his past? Did this girl know everything about him? Everything about him, his past, including those photos of her that he secretly kept under his pillow...

"Oh," Xu Wu said calmly after a moment, turning his gaze to Jie Ying. "Long time no see."

Upon hearing this, the other two stopped talking abruptly and froze.

Only in the instant her gaze met Jieying's did she clearly notice that Jieying, who had been trembling with fear, slowly blinked, and the temperature in her eyes suddenly rose to an unbelievably scorching level.

It's impossible for her to forget; those eyes are exactly the same as in her memory, she simply can't forget them.

Xu Wu turned her head away awkwardly, unconsciously rubbing her fingertips, her ears, hidden under her long black hair, began to burn.

The light emanating from her perfectly shaped eyes seemed to see right through her, instantly shattering her defenses and dragging out the scenes she had dreamt of countless days and nights to repeatedly lash out at her.

"Wait a minute," Chen Yunrang realized, "You two know each other?"

“Yes,” Xu Wu said calmly, “we were high school classmates.”

Chen Yunrang and his sister exchanged a shocked glance. The sister shook her head, indicating that she didn't know about it either.

"But why didn't you mention this?" Chen Wei frowned and asked Jie Ying, "When we ran into you yesterday, I asked you if you knew each other, why didn't you tell me?"

Upon hearing this, Jie Ying gave her a strange look: "This, this is a private matter, isn't it?"

"..." Chen Wei gave an awkward laugh, "That's true."

"Hey, I'm telling you—" Seeing that his sister's tone wasn't very friendly, Chen Yun frowned, rolled up his sleeves, and prepared to step forward to argue.

“There were a few people over there who said they were looking for you.” Before he could make things difficult for him, Xu Wu spoke first.

Chen Yunrang glared at Xie Ying with annoyance, then pulled Chen Wei aside and whispered a few words before leaving, still feeling uneasy.

Xu Wu watched Chen Yunrang leave, and when he saw Chen Wei coming back, he took a step back and distanced himself from Jie Ying.

“You, on your body…” Jie Ying suddenly spoke in a low voice. He had noticed Xu Wu’s aloofness, but seeing the other party’s resistance, he did not dare to be presumptuous for a moment.

"Are you doing well?" Xu Wu asked him.

She glanced at the skin exposed by Jie Ying's collarbone and the hollow of her collarbone, paused, then looked away somewhat awkwardly and pursed her lips.

It was exactly the same as what she saw in her dream, although Xu Wu sometimes despised herself for it.

In her dreams, he was always devoid of warmth. When she gently touched Jieying's delicate collarbone with trembling hands, she could always feel his body trembling slightly due to his unsteady breathing.

It was so cold that when she woke up, she would stare blankly at her hands, as if a trace of coldness still lingered on them. After a couple of seconds of silence, she would curl up and bury herself completely in the blankets, placing the hand that had touched him so peacefully against her chest.

Jie Ying opened his mouth slightly, as if he was about to say something.

"I'm leaving first." Xu Wu pretended not to see it and cut off his escape route before he could even speak.

She glanced at Chen Wei, who was only four or five steps away, and when she saw that Chen Wei was also looking over, she turned her head away without any reaction.

"Wait a moment."

Immediately afterwards, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.

Xu Wu's body stiffened. The hand holding her wrist was different from the coldness in the dream; instead, it was warm. The body heat emanating from the palm was gently transmitted to her skin, quickly warming that small area.

The temperature is exactly the same as before, not a single bit has changed.

Xu Wu was somewhat dazed, and when she lowered her eyes, they suddenly felt a little sore.

"I'm not doing well." The voice behind me sounded hoarse, as if it were being spoken with great difficulty.

“Xu Wu,” he said again, “I’m not doing well.”
