Chapter 184 Luna and Fire

Kesby went to see his good friend that night.

To be honest, Cosby himself hasn't slept well recently and has been lacking energy all day, but his good friend and his wife are even worse than him.

It's only been four days since I last saw you, but I feel like I look sallow, with puffy eye bags and sunken eye sockets.

He was startled when Mr. Ruby opened the door for him.

"Bornae Ruby, what did you do? Did you overdo it?"

Cosby teased.

"You are the one who has been over-sexualized. You have been very sleepy these past two days. Come in. The mirror is in the living room."

Dinner was ready and the mirror was put aside. Luna was the only one in the family who seemed to be in better spirits, but she was sitting on the sofa holding a plate.

Seeing Xerby coming in, she called out sweetly, "Uncle Xerby."

"Luna is so nice, why don't you come to the table to eat?"

Mrs. Ruby asked Cosby to sit down and put grilled steak and side dishes on his plate.

"Don't pay attention to her. She said that she is uncomfortable at the table and will be scared. She doesn't know what nonsense to say."

As an outsider, Kesby just smiled and looked at the mirror that was placed so abruptly in the middle of the table.

"Isn't it weird that you put a mirror on the table when you eat?"

Mrs. Ruby smiled and sat down directly opposite the mirror.

"What's so strange about that? I think I look really good in this mirror!"

Does it look good?

Kesbet turned over there and looked in the mirror. Mrs. Ruby's pale face, which had been showing signs of lethargy over the past two days, was reflected in the mirror, looking no different from the outside.

But when dinner started, the atmosphere gradually heated up.

"Bornard, we need to find a good buyer for this mirror. I know a few people who like to collect special artworks. They like some strange and eccentric things. We can take it to them some other day to show them."

“How much is it worth?”

Mr. Ruby was tempted when he heard about selling it for money.

"I'm not sure about that, but I've been doing appraisal work for quite some time, so I think it's indispensable. I don't know what kind of gemstone this mirror is made of, but usually, things like this that you can't even tell the details of are treasures!"

"It should still be possible for us to ask for more than 100,000 Euros."

"One hundred thousand!?"

Mr. Ruby's face lit up, this was no small amount.

Mrs. Ruby next to her was not very happy. After all, she had to sell such a beautiful mirror, but the money gain was still greater.

"Hehe, what I said is still conservative. If even those people can't recognize it, they will definitely be willing to pay a higher price. Scarcity makes things valuable."

The atmosphere at the table was lively and everyone was talking and laughing while eating.

On the sofa, the little girl didn't dare to look at the table at all. She was just focusing on eating the food on the plate.

Ever since the nightmare on the first night, she became afraid to look at the mirror and never went to her parents' room again.

Today, because the mirror was taken to the living room, her mother didn't allow her to eat in her room, so she didn't dare to go to the table and ran to the sofa.

Occasionally, she couldn't help but look up, and she could always see many figures in the mirror, especially two of them who were staring at her parents.

What frightened her even more was that there was a small figure that seemed to be looking at her!

"Mother……"

She called out.

"What's wrong baby?"

Luna was about to say something when many skinny shadows in the mirror looked at her, scaring her so much that her face turned pale.

"No, nothing... I'm done eating!"

"Would you like some more? Shall I get you some Sarah? Tell Mom if you feel any discomfort!"

Mrs. Ruby looked at her daughter with concern. As a mother, she could tell that the little girl didn't look well, even though her own face looked even scarier.

"No...it's okay, I want to go out for a walk!"

She didn't want to stay in the house for a moment, but it was dark now and Mrs. Ruby certainly wouldn't agree.

"Baby, it's dark outside now, so you'd better not go out. Why don't you go back to your room upstairs? Mom, Dad, and Uncle Cosby haven't finished eating yet. How about we go for a walk with you after we finish eating?"

Cosby and Mr. Ruby also smiled at Luna in agreement.

Luna didn't say anything. She placed the plate directly on the sofa and went upstairs quickly without saying a word.

As soon as she entered the room, she slammed the door and locked it. Then she took off her shoes, got on the bed, covered herself with a blanket, and curled up in the corner of the bed.

She was only six years old, and she was scared and worried. She really wanted to tell her parents what she had seen, but she didn't dare.

At school, she tried to talk to her friends and teachers, but every time she tried to open her mouth, she felt her scalp tingling and her hands and feet cold.

The window was open, and the summer night breeze blew in. Luna sat for a while, then got up and prepared to close the window.

She stood on tiptoe to roll down the window, and accidentally saw a car parked in the distance.

'fire? '

A warm feeling came from there.

"Is it fire?"

There was someone in the black car, and a vague feeling of burning was rising above the car.

A sense of security, this is an inexplicable sense of security. The little girl's fear and worry in recent days seemed to have been relieved.

I want to go there! I want to take my parents there!

Luna was looking forward to her parents taking her out for a walk with joy, and then she would naturally lead them there.

But the greater the hope, the greater the disappointment. The Rubys and Cosby talked until very late, detailing all the things to pay attention to when meeting potential buyers, and naturally forgot about the agreement with little Luna.

Until they came over to say goodnight before going to bed.

That night, Mrs. Ruby took a few more photos of the mirror and posted a status to express her reluctance to part with it.

Luna didn't sleep the whole night because she heard the sounds, the terrible roars and struggles, some of which were particularly loud and creepy, and the sound of scratching glass, which made Luna's body covered with goose bumps.

She could only curl up in bed and cry, but she dared not cry out loud, for she was so afraid that something might happen to her parents.

She wanted to get out of bed and run to her parents' room to wake them up. She was crying so much that she was thirsty and wanted to go out to get some water!

But every time she walked to the door, she didn't dare to hold the door handle. At this time, she would run to the window and look at the black car that never left.

As long as the car was there, she would feel better.

"Please, please, please, please don't drive away! Please!"

In the morning, Philier and Brown were the ones guarding here last night, but it was still so quiet and they still found nothing.

"Damn it! What the hell is this? It's absolutely weird!"

Philier couldn't help but curse.

Brown was stretching there with an unhappy look on his face.

They still haven't found anything, but last night, the two were almost certain that there was something strange.

Because every time they think about whether to cancel the observation after a while, they always feel a strange sense of frustration.

After days of fruitless thinking, this thought would occasionally occur to me, but last night's feeling was the strangest.

It might sound strange to describe it, as if I would lose something or disappoint someone by leaving.

It was like when I was a kid taking a big exam or participating in a competition, with my parents eagerly waiting for me. It was so overwhelming that I couldn’t even take turns to take a nap last night!
