Although the system wouldn't suddenly appear, Wen Yan and Su Jibai still proceeded with caution in their romance. As supporting characters with significant screen time in the novel, their every move would affect the NPCs in the story.

To avoid the system noticing their changes, they had no choice but to act as ordinary friends in public while secretly having intimate relationships in private.

Previously, Lin Jiapeng had been fawning over Wen Yan every day, which had annoyed Su Jibai for a long time. Now, he secretly delivers breakfast to Wen Yan every day to prevent Lin Jiapeng from taking advantage of the situation.

Su Jibai arrived at the classroom much earlier to bring breakfast for Wen Yan. Wen Yan also carried a bag every day, trying to cover up the fact that he had brought the breakfast himself.

Ever since Wenyan told Lin Jiapeng that he didn't need to bring him breakfast, Lin Jiapeng bought all sorts of snacks and fruits, but Wenyan still refused his kindness.

Lin Jiapeng, holding Wen Yan's favorite snacks, asked, "Are you really not going to eat any?"

Wen Yan waved her hand, "I just ate a sandwich, I'm a little full."

"Oh." Lin Jiapeng returned to his seat disappointed. In the past, Wen Yan would excitedly say, "I want to eat! I want to eat!" But now she's really changed.

Wen Yan opened her phone and sent a message to Su Jibai.

Wenyan: Did you make the sandwich?

Su Jibai: Yes, is it delicious?

Wenyan: It's delicious.

Actually, this was the worst sandwich Wen Yan had ever eaten in her life. Su Jibai must have been cooking for the first time; the salt he put in the eggs was enough to make several more dishes.

It made him drink half a bottle of water.

Wen Yan didn't want to discourage him, so she encouraged him first to increase his enthusiasm for cooking, and his skills would gradually improve.

After lunch, Lin Jiapeng arrived with his fruit platter, the fresh fruit filling the air with a sweet aroma.

Lin Jiapeng placed the fruit platter on Wen Yan's table. "Eat up."

Wenyan: "I'm on a diet, I'm not eating."

"We'll eat, we'll eat." Seeing that Wen Yan wasn't eating, Mosa immediately took the fruit plate away and shared it with Sanno and the others.

Lin Jiapeng frowned. "Why are you trying to lose weight? To build muscle, you need to eat more."

Wen Yan changed her words, "I ate too many snacks and fruits before, and last week my brother took me to a physical examination. My blood sugar was much high, and the doctor advised me not to eat them anymore."

Lin Chia-peng nodded. "High blood sugar is bad for your health. I'll bring you my usual muscle-building meals tomorrow, which are low in sugar."

Wenyan said, "No need, I can't eat anything after lunch."

Lin Chia-peng: "Maybe I'll eat it for lunch."

Wenyan: "The muscle-building meal tastes awful, I don't want it."

Lin Chia-peng: "I'm a very good cook."

Sanno looked at Wenyan and then at Lin Jiapeng, silently asking: What's wrong with these two?

Mosa and Lin Pianyue shook their heads. They didn't know either. Ever since the autumn outing, Wenyan had rarely accepted Lin Jiapeng's kindness.

Wen Yan was in a real dilemma. Refusing would hurt Lin Jiapeng's feelings, but not refusing would hurt Su Jibai's feelings.

Just as Wen Yan was caught in a dilemma, Su Jibai's voice rang out from the back door, "Wen Yan, the teacher wants to see you in the office."

"I'm coming right away." Wen Yan jumped up; he had never been so eager to see his teacher.

As soon as he stepped out the door, Su Jibai smiled at him, and Wen Yan knew that this was just a pretext to help him out of a predicament.

They kept a respectful distance and went up to the rooftop to chat.

Su Jibai: "Are you free after school this afternoon?"

Wen Yan teased him on purpose: "I'm going to practice boxing after school."

Sure enough, Su Jibai frowned. "Don't you only go boxing on weekends?"

"Hahaha," Wen Yan laughed at him, "I was just kidding."

Su Jibai smiled again and patted Wen Yan's head.

Wen Yan removed his hand, "Don't touch my head, just like my brother."

Su Jibai: "Very cute."

As Wen Yan touched Su Jibai's wrist, he remembered the Patek Philippe with its black strap and blue dial from the cruise ship party. He asked, "Do you remember that man from the cruise ship party? You said I was eavesdropping that time."

Su Jibai: "I remember, that's my cousin Ji Weixuan."

It was Ji Weixuan who made Long Chen and Su Jibai leave last time. What a coincidence! Wen Yan couldn't help but be suspicious.

Seeing his serious expression, Su Jibai asked, "What's wrong?"

When Wen Yan shared his guess, Su Jibai's expression turned serious. "My cousin's father is a foreigner who owns a mercenary company abroad, and my cousin also runs a bodyguard company in China."

Su Jibai spoke tactfully, but Wen Yan understood that Ji Weixuan was probably involved in organized crime, and if discovered during the investigation, he might lose his life.

While he was recuperating at home, he vaguely heard that Wen Ling was investigating Ji Weixuan's affairs. It seems that he needs to find a way to stop his brother.

Su Jibai: "I'll ask my dad when we get back, so don't worry too much."

"Okay." Wen Yan nodded. "Are there any more dangers ahead?"

Su Jibai: "No, it's all about Wen Yan provoking Liu Xirou. I don't know anything else about what Liu Xirou went through."

Wen Yan said, "Your scenes are too few; someone must have taken them all."

Su Jibai: "..."

The school bell rang, the break ended, and the two returned to the classroom. Wen Yan looked at Liu Xirou with a sincere expression, "Xirou, what has happened recently is really terrible. You must be careful when you go out. If anything happens, you must tell Achen. Don't keep it to yourself. You can also talk to me."

Liu Xirou, not understanding why, still agreed, "Oh... okay."

Having witnessed everything, Long Chen said speechlessly, "What is he doing now?"

Su Jibai: "...I don't know."

After school in the afternoon, the "cannon fodder" group said goodbye to each other. Lin Jiapeng immediately came over and asked Wen Yan to go play. Wen Yan packed up slowly and calmly said, "I have something to do at home, so I won't go."

“Ah,” Lin Jiapeng said with a disappointed look, “then let’s go again next time.”

Wen Yan didn't answer him, and guiltily picked up her bag and left.

Walking slowly to the back gate of the school, there were hardly any people left. Wen Yan looked left and right, but did not see Su Jibai.

Just as he was about to send a message, his hand warmed up, and a warm hand covered his empty palm. The person said softly, "Let's go."

Wen Yan held Su Jibai's hand, still nervously looking around.

Su Jibai couldn't help but chuckle and led him to a less crowded path. The dilapidated residential buildings were covered with ivy, and the utility poles stood neatly at the intersection.

After walking for a while and going downhill, the view gradually opened up. Under the azure sky was a green meadow, and a clear stream flowed quietly through the meadow.

The two sat side by side, and Wen Yan, fiddling with the colorful wildflowers beside them, asked, "This place is so beautiful, how did you know about it?"

Su Jibai smiled and said, "Sometimes I just wander around when I'm bored, and before I know it, I've ended up here."

“Wow,” Wenyan pointed to the huge Ferris wheel in the distance, “there’s an amusement park over there.”

Su Jibai: "Want to go play?"

Wen Yan waved his phone screen, which showed that the amusement park closed at six o'clock. "Forget it, let's go after I finish my task."

The amusement park is crowded and there are many people who might recognize them. If rumors start to spread, they're doomed. He doesn't want Su Jibai to lose his memory again.

Now, being able to stay quietly in a corner, enjoy the breeze, and chat is already very good.

As dusk fell, Wen Yan patted Su Jibai and said, "Let's go home."

Su Jibai: "Are you hungry?"

Wen Yan asked, "Aren't you hungry yet? What's wrong?" He was saving half of the sandwich Su Jibai made for the afternoon.

“Let’s go,” Su Jibai said, taking Wen Yan’s hand as they stood up and looking at the Ferris wheel. “Let’s go to the amusement park.”

Wen Yan was confused by his words: "The amusement park is closed at this time."

Su Jibai: "I let them open it."

Wen Yan immediately realized that he had used his financial power, but she still had some concerns, "What if someone is involved?"

"I've booked the entire amusement park tonight; there won't be anyone else there."

So that's how it can be done! Money really can buy anything. Wen Yan's eyes lit up. She grabbed Su Jibai and walked briskly, muttering, "Let's go, let's go, let's see the view from the sky before it gets dark."

By the time they reached the Ferris wheel, it was getting dark, and only a few lights were on in the nearby buildings, making it an awkward time for sightseeing.

"What a pity, let's come back later, it'll look better when the lights are on outside." Wen Yan then pulled Su Jibai towards the roller coaster not far away, "Let's ride something thrilling first."

The amusement park's neon lights were all turned on, their dazzling colors sparkling like stars. Joyful songs filled the park, and with a click of the gears, the roller coaster slowly moved along its winding track.

Wen Yan gripped Su Jibai's hand tightly, a big smile spreading across his face. The roller coaster roared down, its fluctuating speed adding to the thrill, and Wen Yan laughed.

"Exciting!" Wen Yan shouted.

The roller coaster returned to its original trajectory, and Wen Yan still couldn't contain his excitement. He pressed down on Su Jibai's hand, which was trying to unbuckle his seatbelt, and said to the staff, "One more time!"

The staff member smiled broadly, and she was also very happy to receive the generous overtime pay.

After a short break, the roller coaster started again. Wen Yan turned to look at Su Jibai, only to find that Su Jibai was staring at him the whole time.

"What's wrong?" Under the dazzling neon lights, Wenyan's eyes became even clearer, as if washed by water, with a touch of childlike innocence.

"It's the first time I've seen you so happy." Su Jibai slowly leaned in and left a gentle kiss on his cheek.

Wen Yan's face flushed instantly, her eyes darting around before finally settling on their clasped hands.

Wen Yan dragged Su Jibai to play on many thrilling rides, including the drop tower, the bungee jump, and the flying chairs. The stronger the feeling of weightlessness, the bigger the smile on Wen Yan's face became.

The night sky was as dark as ink, and the two of them arrived at the Ferris wheel again.

Soft music began to play, and the Ferris wheel slowly started moving. Wen Yan's face was almost pressed against the glass, his eyes fixed on the scenery outside.

Suddenly, he pointed and said, "That's our school."

"Hmm." Su Jibai also saw the eye-catching, brightly lit school name.

The Ferris wheel wasn't particularly tall, but it would be almost at its highest point in five minutes. Wen Yan looked at the top of the Ferris wheel, then at Su Jibai, her heart pounding.

The music and lights suddenly went out. Wen Yan, who was already nervous, was startled again. He shrank back in his seat and clung tightly to Su Jibai. "Is there a power outage?"

Su Jibai hugged him. "Look up. The other gondolas are still lit up. The Ferris wheel is actually still turning, just very slowly."

Wen Yan poked her head out; the other pods were still lit. "Is the light in this pod broken? Wait, why isn't the music playing either?"

Su Jibai couldn't stop laughing. "The staff turned it off specifically to enhance the experience."

Wenyan: "..."

As they talked, they reached the highest point of the Ferris wheel. The lights in the gondola came on again, and their blurry vision gradually cleared. The two drew closer and closer until their breaths mingled.

Their soft lips touched, and fireworks exploded in their hearts.
