Come keep you company

Come keep you company

Seeing Wen Yan's attire, Su Jibai asked, "Aren't you riding a horse?"

“I already said I’m here to help you with your business, so of course I won’t ride a horse.” Wen Yan stepped around him and ran towards Liu Xirou.

"Xirou, do you want to learn to ride a horse?" The horse Long Chen was leading was not as tall as the black horse, and it was obviously meant for beginners.

Liu Xirou joked, "Yeah, Achen said he'd teach me. Look at his face now, it's as black as the bottom of a pot. I'm afraid he'll scold me if I don't learn it. Ayan, you should teach me instead."

Long Chen's lips twitched, but his expression improved considerably. "How could I possibly scold you? Let him teach you? He doesn't even know how to ride a horse."

Wen Yan quickly declined, "I haven't ridden in a long time and I'm rusty. Let A-Chen teach you. Besides, I came here to accompany Su Jibai, not to ride a horse. It's too sunny today."

"You and Su..." Liu Xirou's eyes flickered as she looked back and forth between Wen Yan and Su Jibai, a smile playing on her lips.

Su Jibai stroked the black horse's mane with a calm expression, trying to bond with it. He was too far away from them to know what they were talking about.

The sunlight was too dazzling, so Long Chen squinted. Seeing that Su Jibai didn't react, he gave Wen Yan a strange look.

The club does have an indoor riding arena, but Liu Xirou likes sunshine and wants to ride outdoors. Long Chen and Su Jibai aren't afraid of the sun, so they let her have her way.

The outdoor horse riding arena is the size of four basketball courts. The outer edge is made of fine golden gravel, with obstacles every twenty meters or so. In the middle is a lush green grass, but the sun is too strong and the grass is a bit wilted, bending to one side in unison.

In the shade, Wen Yan sat watching them ride horses. It was too hot, so Su Jibai took off his coat, revealing a snow-white shirt under a brown jacket, and dark gray boots that hugged his long, slender legs. He mounted his horse, ready to ride in circles, his gaze sharp as he looked into the distance; his attire made him appear exceptionally dashing and elegant.

Su Jibai squeezed the horse's flanks with his legs, and the black horse immediately began to stride, its hooves making a dull thud on the sand. He leaned slightly forward, and the horse's speed increased with his movement, galloping swiftly across the field.

After running three laps, Su Jibai dismounted to rest, tying his horse to a specially placed post. He took off his hat, revealing his smooth forehead, wiped the sweat with a tissue, and opened a mineral water bottle to drink.

Su Jibai stopped moving. Wen Yan regretfully looked away, wanting to see Su Jibai riding a horse again.

Long Chen's main purpose was to teach Liu Xirou how to ride a horse, so he only led a docile mare. After demonstrating for Liu Xirou, Long Chen carefully guided her through each movement. Liu Xirou learned quickly and soon learned how to mount the horse. Her movements were very smooth, showing that she must exercise regularly and had plenty of strength.

Liu Xirou gripped the reins, her back ramrod straight, cautiously watching the horse beneath her. Long Chen led the reins, pacing back and forth on the grass, helping Liu Xirou gradually adjust to the feeling of being on horseback.

The girl's face was radiant with smiles, glowing brightly in the sunlight. The boy also smiled, a rare occurrence for him, gazing at her tenderly. They were truly a perfect couple.

The system hasn't announced the mission's success yet, but that makes sense. This mission is worth 10 points, so it can't just be as simple as having him go to the horse farm to observe the male and female leads.

The outdoor horse riding arena had been booked by Long Chen. Apart from the four of them and two staff members, there were no strangers on the field. Wen Yan scrutinized the two staff members; they seemed unremarkable and not like key figures.

Time flies by, and Liu Xirou can now ride a horse independently. She rode the horse slowly around a circle, feeling very happy.

Despite three hours of exposure to the wind and sun, the male and female leads remained energetic, their skin as fair as ever, with only a slight sweat. This Mary Sue world certainly treated them exceptionally well; if he had been under the sun for three hours, his face would definitely have turned dark red.

Wen Yan crammed on horseback riding knowledge last night, staying up until 2 a.m. before going to sleep. By the afternoon, he couldn't stop yawning. He patted his face, trying to stay awake. The task wasn't finished yet, and if he fell asleep, all his efforts would be wasted.

He rested his chin on his hand, closed his eyes, and took a five-minute nap.

A sweet aroma wafted over, and his hand was touched by something hard and unusually cold. He opened his eyes and saw a bowl of mango shaved ice right in front of him, steaming with wisps of white vapor.

Su Jibai smiled at him, "Tired?"

"I'm not sleepy anymore, thank you." He happily took the shaved ice and ate it with a spoon.

The ice melted on the tip of my tongue, and the biting chill rushed straight to my head, washing away my drowsiness and brightening my eyes.

Wen Yan regained her energy and, while eating ice cream, intently observed the actions of the male and female protagonists.

Su Jibai followed his gaze, his eyelids slightly lowered, "You still like Long Chen?"

"What?" Wen Yan was confused. Wasn't it common knowledge that the original owner liked Long Chen?

Su Jibai's eyes were dark and unfathomable. After a moment of silence, he said, "Long Chen is already with Liu Xirou."

"I know." Su Jibai was probably worried that she would interfere in the relationship between the male and female leads. Wen Yan wanted to tease him, so she raised her eyes and smiled mischievously, "Don't you know who I like?"

After running around the sand field twice, Liu Xirou was also a little tired. Long Chen handed the horse over to the staff and went up the steps with Liu Xirou to rest.

"Horse riding was so much fun! The wind felt so refreshing, it was just a bit slow." Liu Xirou was still savoring the feeling of riding a horse.

"You'll get faster if you ride a few more times. Let's practice a little more this afternoon." Long Chen took her coat and jacket from her.

Wen Yan's voice came from not far away, "What?"

“...We’re together now,” Su Jibai said.

Suddenly a strong wind blew up, carrying away their voices, leaving only intermittent words.

Don't you know who I like?

Liu Xirou and Long Chen exchanged a glance, stopped walking upstairs, and then turned around and went to the lounge opposite.

Recalling the conversation just now, Liu Xirou smiled and said, "Ayan actually had a relationship with Su..."

"Don't talk nonsense." Long Chen interrupted her, his expression becoming increasingly serious.

Seeing his bad expression, Liu Xirou asked, "Don't you want them to be together? But this is a matter between the two of them."

“I…” Long Chen paused, “I don’t know how to say it.”

Wen Yan came to cause trouble several times, but failed to cause them any real harm, as if he were helping them from the shadows. If this person were still as unreasonable as before, they could simply drive him away, but this person seemed to have some purpose in approaching them now, completely different from before, so they could only deal with him carefully.

“Regardless of you,” Liu Xirou smiled, “I will definitely support them.”

Don't you know who I like?

Su Jibai was stunned, the words echoing in his mind, and they fell silent again.

Seeing that Su Jibai didn't move, Wen Yan suppressed a laugh and waved her hand, "Hey, are you dumbfounded?"

In an instant, Su Jibai suddenly grabbed his hand, with considerable force. Unable to pull his hand back, Wen Yan was now dumbfounded.

Su Jibai's aura became dangerous; his eyes were dark, his jaw was clenched, and he made no further move.

Wen Yan froze, feeling uneasy. She had only made a joke; how could she have offended him?

Recalling Su Jibai's several inexplicable actions—staring at him in the principal's office, suddenly approaching him on the rooftop, and now grabbing him abruptly—Wen Yan felt increasingly that this person was very strange.

Is he having a relapse?

Whether the book mentions any psychological or mental illness he might have is unknown to Wenyan. This damn system is too much of a rip-off, making him figure everything out on his own. It only appears when issuing tasks or deducting points, otherwise it vanishes without a trace, as if it has evaporated into thin air.

In the silence, the phone rang, bringing Su Jibai back to his senses. He released his grip and whispered, "I'm sorry."

After hanging up the phone, he left without saying a word.

Wenyan: ...

This second male lead is really strange.

The sun was covered by thick, dark clouds, and the wind had silently departed, turning the battlefield into a dark place. For some reason, Wen Yan felt a little uneasy, so he got up and went to the rest room across the street.

"Xirou, Achen, are you there?" Wenyan knocked on the door, and the door opened immediately.

"What's wrong, Ayan? Achen went out on something, and I'm all alone here." Liu Xirou was dressed neatly, probably about to go horseback riding.

Wen Yan smiled and said, "It's nothing, I was just bored and wanted to chat with you guys. Are you going horseback riding?"

"Yeah, it's so boring inside now that Ah Chen's gone." Liu Xirou looked across the street. "Did Su leave too?"

Wen Yan: "He took a phone call and then left."

“Ah Chen too, maybe something’s happened to them.” Liu Xirou took the horse from the staff and walked onto the battlefield.

She patted the horse's back and said, "Be good, I'm riding very slowly."

Liu Xirou stepped on the stirrup with her left foot, grabbed the saddle with her right hand, and with a push of her feet, she mounted the horse smoothly.

"Cool!" Wen Yan exclaimed.

She took a deep breath and said with a smile, "I'll go run two laps first."

The horse neighed, its tail swaying wildly, and charged forward like lightning with Liu Xirou's movements. Liu Xirou was startled. She hadn't exerted any force, but the horse was running so fast. She pulled her legs back and grabbed the reins, but the horse showed no sign of stopping, quickly carrying Liu Xirou around in a circle.

The horse was running unusually fast, and Liu Xirou's entire body was almost pressed against its back. Something was wrong. Wen Yan felt a pang of anxiety. There was no time to call the staff. Relying on what he had learned from the video, he shouted, "Xirou! Hold on tight to the saddle! Don't pull on the reins. Go close to the horse's ear to reassure it, then spread your hands and pull the reins down!"

He ran around the horse farm shouting several times until Liu Xirou finally heard him clearly. At this moment, Liu Xirou was extremely frightened; her pupils were constricted, and her body was stiff as a board. She tried her best to calm herself down and moved slowly as Wen Yan had instructed.

A metallic sweetness welled up in her throat, Wen Yan's ears stung, her head buzzed, and she could barely run anymore.

Liu Xirou repeated the actions as Wen Yan instructed several times, and the horse finally stopped. She quickly dismounted, and Wen Yan rushed to her side.

Covered in cold sweat, Liu Xirou clung tightly to Wen Yan, her face as pale as paper, her body trembling uncontrollably, and her legs weak. If Wen Yan hadn't been supporting her, she would have almost fallen to the ground.

"It's alright, it's alright," Wen Yan kept reassuring her.

The horse beside him neighed softly, stamped its hooves uneasily, wagged its tail, and its eyes were unusually sharp, unlike its docile demeanor in the morning.

As Wen Yan recalled Ma's previous appearance, a terrible guess came to her mind.
