Extra 5 [Extra]

Extra 5

After school, Su Jibai called out to Long Chen, "Wait a minute."

Long Chen turned around. "What's wrong?"

Su Jibai slowed his pace, and even Long Chen slowed down a bit. "Do you know about the new transfer student in our class?"

Long Chen kept his head down all morning, showing no interest in the transfer student whatsoever. "I didn't notice."

Su Jibai looked at him. "She's right in front of you."

Just as he was about to look over, a figure blocked his view. Wen Yan suddenly rushed over and bumped into Liu Xirou's shoulder. Liu Xirou was still holding the books that had just been handed out, and she lost her balance and fell backward, scattering the books all over the ground.

Long Chen reached out to support her. "Are you alright?"

Liu Xirou shook her head. "It's nothing, thank you."

The three of them squatted down to pick up the books scattered on the ground. Wen Yan stood there, a look of resentment flashing in her eyes. She then squatted down and picked up the books with them, saying apologetically, "I'm sorry, Liu, I was walking too fast and didn't notice you."

Long Chen chuckled. The road was so wide, yet they insisted on squeezing towards Liu Xirou. Who would believe it wasn't intentional? He had known Wen Yan's two-faced and hypocritical nature since childhood, and he had long seen through Wen Yan's usual pretense.

Wen Yan pouted, "Achen, what are you doing..."

"Let's go." Too lazy to watch his clumsy performance, Long Chen called Su Jibai away as soon as he finished picking up the books.

After returning home, Su Jibai went back to his room in a daze. He sat at his desk, tapping his fingers on the table, lost in thought.

The new transfer student, Wen Yan's targeting of her, all matched up with his dreams.

No matter how unwilling Su Jibai was to accept it, he had no choice but to admit that the world he lived in was just a novel, and a novel with no ending.

Looking out the window at the azure sky, towering buildings, and dragonflies flying low, Su Jibai suddenly smiled, realizing that everything was nothingness.

Could it be that he really falls in love with Liu Xirou like in the novel, silently protects her, and then helps Long Chen and Liu Xirou become a couple?

He can't do it.

He didn't like Liu Xirou, nor did he like a life that was being controlled. As for how the novel would develop, let it be. What did it have to do with him?

After a physical education class, Su Jibai changed his mind about taking things as they came and standing idly by.

On the basketball court, Su Jibai got the ball, but several people surrounded him, so he had to throw the ball to Long Chen, who was near the basketball hoop.

Long Chen caught the ball, and by the time the others tried to steal it, it was too late. Long Chen leaped and made a beautiful three-pointer.

Before he could even feel happy, a basketball suddenly flew towards Long Chen at high speed. Su Jibai's expression changed, and he rushed over to swat the basketball and looked in the direction of the culprit.

Wen Yan's distorted face was clearly reflected in his eyes. Su Jibai's expression was somber as he walked straight toward him.

If the basketball had actually hit Long Chen on the back of the head, he might have died or become mentally disabled.

Long Chen was unaware of what had just happened, but it was the first time he had seen Su Jibai so angry. He followed behind him and asked, "What did you want with him? You look so upset."

Su Jibai paused. Everyone had been surrounding Long Chen, and there were no eyewitnesses. He had hinted at the truth of this world to Long Chen several times before, but Long Chen always gave him a look that said, "What are you talking about?"

He turned around and hooked his arm around Long Chen's neck. "It's alright, let's go."

It's pointless to talk to Wenyan now; we should warn him when no one's around.

Su Jibai secretly observed Wen Yan's movements. As soon as physical education class ended, he followed behind him, intending to talk to him.

Wen Yan has always admired Long Chen and is arrogant and enjoys being the center of attention. The arrival of Liu Xirou, who is the focus of everyone's attention, has diverted everyone's attention from her. Wen Yan's targeting of her is very much in line with his petty and jealous personality.

But why does he want to kill Long Chen now?

Su Jibai stared at his retreating figure, suddenly startled. Did he also know the truth about this world?

Wen Yan paused, then suddenly entered an empty classroom. Su Jibai followed closely behind, and after confirming Wen Yan's location, he hid outside the door, able to glimpse Wen Yan's expression through the crack in the door.

The classroom was eerily quiet, with only the dust revealed by the sunlight and Wen Yan sitting blankly in her chair.

Su Jibai frowned, sensing that something was wrong with Wen Yan. He thought for a moment and was about to go in and wake him up, but the next second, Wen Yan seemed to come alive and his expression changed.

Wen Yan blinked, looked at her hands and feet, then stood up and looked at her legs. She tugged at her skirt, as if seeing her own body for the first time.

Su Jibai felt increasingly strange, watching his next move.

Wen Yan looked puzzled, then suddenly said to thin air, "So I'm a villainous supporting character now?"

No one responded, but Wen Yan pouted, spread her legs, and looked between them. "Hey, why does this guy have a cross-dressing fetish? How long am I supposed to keep this up?"

A few seconds later, Wen Yan said as she walked out of the classroom, "Okay, okay, I understand."

Su Jibai quickly called out to Wen Yan, who stiffened for a moment before turning around with a smile, "Is there something you need?"

Su Jibai stared at him sharply, "Why did you hit Long Chen with a basketball? If I hadn't stopped you, Long Chen might be dead!"

Wen Yan's expression turned visibly shocked; she was completely bewildered and stammered, "What...what are you saying? I don't remember...I don't remember!"

Then, he took a few steps to distance himself from Su Jibai and ran away under Su Jibai's cold gaze.

Su Jibai was puzzled again. In his impression, Wen Yan should not be the kind of person who felt guilty after doing something wrong, but rather someone who was arrogant and disdainful of others.

That evening, Su Jibai consulted a large amount of information, and combined with the various strange things about Wen Yan, he finally got the answer.

Because this novel has no ending, according to the logic of system-based online novels, there must be a system and the host working together to advance the novel's plot and give the unfinished novel an ending.

Wenyan is the chosen host; his speaking to the air is perhaps speaking to the system.

From this point on, Su Jibai began to pay attention to Wen Yan's every move, and used his knowledge of the novel's plot to help Long Chen resolve Wen Yan's difficulties with Liu Xirou.

During his observation, he discovered that whenever Wen Yan did something that deviated from the plot and harmed Long Chen or Liu Xirou, Wen Yan would turn into a robot with an empty expression and stiff limbs.

But after a few minutes, he seemed to be revitalized, regaining his vitality and transforming from a robot back into a human.

Su Jibai guessed that the system might have kicked out the disobedient host and found a new host to become "Wenyan" to complete the mission.

More than a year passed like this.

Liu Xirou is in trouble again. This time she has been poisoned, and it's not the usual minor incident.

Su Jibai naturally knew that it was Jin Zhengting who poisoned him, but seeing the surprised look on Xin Wenyan's face, he couldn't help but release the news to test him and see how he would react.

After a moment of panic, Wen Yan begged Su Jibai not to tell anyone else, and he agreed. He wanted to see how this newcomer would handle the situation.

Unexpectedly, Wen Yan skillfully resolved the crisis, changed everyone's opinion of him, and most importantly, brought Liu Xirou closer to him.

Su Jibai wouldn't spend too much time pondering why Liu Xirou, an unpredictable person, still greeted him with a smile despite Wen Yan's repeated attempts to make things difficult for her.

He tentatively assumed that Liu Xirou was someone who fit the "pure and innocent" persona.

A few days later, Su Jibai was on the rooftop enjoying the breeze when he suddenly heard a noisy commotion. It sounded like people were arguing, and the voices sounded very familiar.

Before he could think it through, the door was kicked open with a "bang," and Long Chen threw Wen Yan at him.

Su Jibai: "..."

He took on the hot potato that was Wenyan, giving them a peaceful time for their date.

Looking at Wen Yan's expression, Su Jibai thought that he must have failed his mission.

Wen Yan was so angry at his gaze that she jumped up and down and said a lot of things to provoke him.

A cold wind blew, and the anger that seemed to be taking shape above Wenyan's head seemed to be extinguished. He hugged his arms together, pressed his legs together, and shivered.

For the first time, Su Jibai displayed gentlemanly manners towards Wen Yan, taking off his coat and giving it to him.

With a coat tied around Wen Yan's waist, he was no longer cold. He started baring his teeth and claws again, getting close to him and trying to get information out of him.

Su Jibai felt helpless. In order to shut this annoying mouth, he decided to scare him a little, preferably so that he would never come near him again.

Su Jibai walked towards him step by step with a smile on his face. Wen Yan had nowhere to retreat and was pinned against the wall. He was frightened, but his little mouth still kept talking.

With no other option, Su Jibai gave up and returned to his original spot to wait for the fireworks to begin.

On the way home, seeing Wen Yan's rapidly changing expression, Su Jibai sneered inwardly. Only a failed mission could make him behave.

When Su Jibai woke up, he felt as if a part of his brain was empty, as if he had forgotten something. The more he thought about it, the more his head ached, so he had no choice but to stop worrying about it.

After showering and changing into a suit, he took the gift and arrived at Long Chen's birthday party on time. The waiter took the gift, and he was about to go find Long Chen when suddenly someone skipped past him.

Su Jibai turned around curiously, wanting to see who that person was. Upon closer inspection, wasn't that Wen Yan?

It's strange. Wen Yan always walks at the same speed as when he's wearing sneakers, even when he's wearing high heels. What's wrong with him today?

As if by some strange twist of fate, Su Jibai followed him out.

Just then, Su Jibai caught Wen Yan, who was about to fall. Looking at the height of his heels, Su Jibai knew that if he fell, he would definitely twist his ankle.

When Wen Yan saw it was him, her eyes lit up, and she confidently ordered him to help her to the hall, as if he would definitely agree.

Su Jibai looked into his flawless, dark eyes and agreed to his request.

He suddenly remembered that Wenyan had found the murderer who poisoned Liu Xirou. Out of the corner of his eye, he saw the excited person next to him and couldn't help but wonder when Wenyan had become so kind.

As soon as he was brought in front of Long Chen and Liu Xirou, Su Jibai regretted it; he had only come to cause trouble.

Su Jibai felt very guilty for accidentally twisting Wen Yan's ankle. The next day, when he saw Wen Yan applying medicine in the stairwell, he was surprised to find that Wen Yan had changed back into men's clothing.

A thought suddenly popped into his head: wearing men's clothing would be nice; he wouldn't feel too cold when it's windy.

Why did I have this thought?

Su Jibai felt that he had lost a very important part of his memory, but he had no idea why.

The moment Su Jibai agreed to take Wenyan to the horse farm, he regretted it. He was worried that Wenyan would interfere and ruin Long Chen and Liu Xirou's date.

But Wen Yan acted perfectly normal the next day, even deliberately keeping her distance from them. Su Jibai was puzzled when he saw Wen Yan sleeping in her seat. Just then, a waiter brought over some iced drinks, and he gave one to Wen Yan.

While eating shaved ice, Wen Yan kept her eyes on Long Chen and Liu Xirou.

Su Jibai couldn't help but ask, "You still like Long Chen?"

Wen Yan looked at him and smiled, "Don't you know who I like?"

A voice suddenly rose in Su Jibai's heart: You shouldn't get close to him.

The next second, his memory returned, and he saw Wen Yan smiling at him and waving.

"How annoying," Su Jibai said coldly, grabbing his arm.

Wen Yan was stunned. Her dark, lustrous eyes looked at him with a puzzled expression, and she blinked.

The ringing of the bell awakened Su Jibai's consciousness, and he released Wen Yan's hand and left.

Su Jibai walked out of the horse farm and rubbed his fingers together. Why did he grab Wen Yan's hand just now?

Another transfer student joined the class, but Su Jibai didn't pay attention and continued to look down at his book.

Su Jibai's phone vibrated, and he saw Long Chen's message. He looked in the direction of Wen Yan, sometimes widening his eyes, sometimes smiling, but always towards Lin Jiapeng.

Su Jibai lowered his head and continued reading, but his fingers unconsciously tapped the table.

After school, Su Jibai was grooming Xiao Ju at the cat house when he suddenly heard laughter outside. Looking up, he saw the two of them again.

Although Wen Yan and Lin Jiapeng had only known each other for a short time, they chatted and laughed, appearing to be very familiar with each other.

"It's an eyesore," another voice popped into Su Jibai's mind.

In his dream, everywhere he looked, he heard Wen Yan's voice. Every smile, every word he uttered deeply touched Su Jibai's heart.

This shouldn't be happening! A roar of fury erupted, and Su Jibai was jolted awake.

With a buzzing in his head, Su Jibai regained his memories of this world. Recalling the extra attention he had given Wen Yan during the time he lost his memory, he paused for a moment, realizing that he might have fallen in love with Wen Yan.

Why would he like to ask about wild geese?

To put it another way, why would he fall in love with a soul that temporarily resides in Wenyan's body and could disappear at any moment?

The answer to this question came after Wenyan was attacked.

He looked at Wenyan, who was covered in injuries but lying on the bed with a happy expression, and felt a pang of sorrow in his heart.

Perhaps it was because of Wen Yan's kind nature and his pure, innocent eyes, untouched by desire.
