Knowing the future plot
The dark gray boulder was covered with tender green moss, and had a large depression in it. The rock face was rugged and somewhat damp, with small streams of water running down it. There was fresh water! Wen Yan was overjoyed. Humans can go without food for days, but not without water. With fresh water, they could survive until rescue arrived.
Having found a cave to hide in, the two immediately returned to the beach.
Su Jibai carried Long Chen on his back, while Wen Yan carried a backpack and walked behind with Liu Xirou.
Liu Xirou held the half-dried clothes in her hand, glanced at them, and sensed a strange atmosphere.
She moved closer to Wenyan and whispered, "Wenyan, did you two have a fight?"
"No." Wen Yan was taken aback. "Why would you think that?"
Liu Xirou: "You two are usually chatting and laughing together, but lately you haven't been talking much."
"I'm just too tired," Wen Yan said, clutching her backpack.
Liu Xirou then turned her concern to him, "Ayan, are you still feeling unwell? Achen said you were drugged, is anything hurting?"
"It doesn't hurt, I'm just very sleepy. I think I took sleeping pills." Apart from the soreness from overexertion, Wen Yan only felt dizzy and lightheaded.
After settling Long Chen inside the cave, Wen Yan and Su Jibai returned to the beach and wrote the word "help" in large characters with their feet, covering it with emerald green palm leaves to make it more conspicuous.
Wen Yan kicked the sand off her feet and looked at someone resentfully, "Hey, can't you really tell me?"
Su Jibai smiled and told Wenyan what he knew about the plot and what he had observed over the past two years.
In short, "Fall in Love, Dragon Overlord!" is a romance novel disguised as a Mary Sue story. It mainly revolves around the romantic progress of the male and female protagonists. All the supporting characters serve the purpose of supporting the main characters' romance. For example, Wen Yan is the catalyst and regulator for their romance. They can always make their relationship stronger because of Wen Yan.
After Long Chen and Liu Xirou fell in love, Wen Yan became even more unruly. Not only did she disrupt the birthday banquet and embarrass Liu Xirou, but she also slandered Liu Xirou in front of Long Lingtian. This made Long Chen furious. It was at this time that Long Lingtian realized the importance of Liu Xirou to Long Chen, and Liu Xirou's love for Long Chen also intensified.
He wasn't as manipulative as the original owner when he was driving the plot. The process was different, but the result was the same: he made Long Chen protect Liu Xirou in front of Long Lingtian, thus pushing the relationship between the male and female leads to a deeper level.
The same applies to the horse farm incident; as long as Liu Xirou's life is not threatened, the mission is considered a success.
Wen Yan plopped down in the shade, stroking her chin. It seemed that doing tasks didn't have to be done in a rigid way; there was a lot of room for improvisation.
He suddenly remembered being cornered last week and asked, "If I hadn't gone to see Liu Xirou last week, would we have avoided being attacked by those thugs?"
“According to the original plot, those thugs would come after Liu Xirou next month,” Su Jibai glanced at Wen Yan, “but you’re the one who’s being cornered; they’ve mistaken you for someone else.”
The original owner of the body was dressed as a woman throughout the book, and had a slender figure. In addition, it was dark at night and she could not be seen clearly, so it is not surprising that she was mistaken for someone else.
Wen Yan: "..." Well, at least we've resolved one troublesome matter ahead of time.
"So what happened with this cruise ship sinking?" Even if Su Jibai didn't know who the culprit was, judging from his preparation of supplies early in the morning, he should know what happened and what the outcome was.
"Originally, it was just me, Achen, and Liu Xirou stranded on a deserted island, but now there's you too."
Su Jibai: "However, the cruise ship sinking is supposed to happen next year, but I don't know why it happened earlier. It might be related to Lin Jiapeng. In the original storyline, Lin Jiapeng didn't go back to China to study, nor did he hold this social party this year. Instead, he held his 18th birthday party on this cruise ship next year."
Things are getting more and more complicated. Wen Yan sighed and asked again, "How do you know you're living in a novel?"
Su Jibai lowered his eyes, "It was a dream. At first, I thought it was just a very real dream, but I only believed it when the events that happened matched reality..."
Su Jibai suddenly fell silent, his expression turning somewhat strange. Wen Yan understood him well; after all, he had also been shocked when he first arrived in this world. As a Celestial Dragon in this world, Su Jibai's sudden realization that he was merely a supporting character in a novel was understandably disheartening.
He sat down and put his arm around Su Jibai's shoulder. "It's okay. We're in the same boat now. If there's anything you want to say or can't say, just tell me. If you want to cry, feel free to cry on my shoulder." After a deep conversation, Wen Yan felt that their friendship had taken a step closer.
Su Jibai glanced at him but didn't say anything.
Wen Yan thought he was embarrassed, so she patted his shoulder and put her hand down.
"So why did you act... uh, a little strange before?" Wen Yan thought about his previous behavior. "Sometimes you were very gentle, just like in the book, and sometimes you were a bit fierce."
Su Jibai: "I helped you when Liu Xirou was poisoned. This world may have discovered this loophole in me and erased my memory because of it."
Wen Yan was startled; she hadn't expected it to be like this. The system had disappeared for a while before, probably to fix the vulnerability related to Su Jibai. Now that Su Jibai had regained his memories and the system was gone, it was probably to fix the vulnerability again.
"So you didn't help those 'Wenyan' before?" He was taken aback. "Why did you help me? I wasn't even that familiar with you back then."
Wen Yan's questions exploded one after another like firecrackers. Su Jibai stared at him, his eyes gradually darkening, and slowly said, "Perhaps you're being too noisy."
"Noisy? The original Wenyan was even more noisy, wasn't she?" Wenyan chattered on and on. "So, will you lose these memories again after a while?"
If Su Jibai loses his memory again, he will be left to fight alone. His hard-won ally will be gone just like that. Wen Yan lowered his head, looking somewhat dejected.
After a moment of silence, Su Jibai pinched his cheek, "Whether I've lost my memory or not, I will help you."
It was unbearably hot outside, but the cave was comfortable and cool. They brought back many leaves and spread them on the ground to make a place to rest. Long Chen's face regained color, and his expression relaxed considerably. Liu Xirou kept a close eye on his condition, occasionally touching his forehead to check if his temperature had returned to normal.
After all that fuss, they were all exhausted. Wen Yan told Liu Xirou to go and rest while he stayed to watch over Long Chen. Liu Xirou thought he was already feeling unwell from being drugged and had been busy with all that, so she refused to go.
Wen Yan had no choice but to rest first, and Liu Xirou would sleep after he woke up.
Feeling a touch on his forehead, he opened his eyes, one hand withdrew, and he asked, "What's wrong?"
Liu Xirou stared at his face. "Your face is so red. I thought you had a fever."
“Her ears are red too,” Liu Xirou said, tilting her head to look. “That’s strange.”
"It's been baking in the sun outside." Wen Yan coughed and quickly closed her eyes before Su Jibai opened them.
As the sun sets, the light inside the cave gradually dims, and the air becomes increasingly cold and damp.
Wen Yan was nestled in a warm embrace, his shoulders were being held, and his consciousness was still hazy, so he couldn't help but shrink back a little. A few seconds later, he opened his eyes alertly. Whose embrace was he in?
The moment he opened his eyes, he met Long Aotian, who had just woken up. Long Chen was eating compressed biscuits, glancing at them with an ambiguous look in his eyes, while Liu Xirou slept soundly with her head on his lap.
Since both of them were on the opposite side, the only person holding him was Su Jibai. Looking up, a handsome face came into view. His eyelids twitched slightly, as if he was about to wake up. Wen Yan nervously closed his eyes.
No wonder he was sleeping against the wall without his head slipping at all; someone was supporting him. If no one had seen him, it would have been fine, but he was caught red-handed.
Wait a minute, why is he embarrassed? What's wrong with leaning on her? It's not like she's the female lead who's hugging him.
Wen Yan opened her eyes with a sense of peace and met those gentle eyes.
"You're awake," said the person holding him.
Long Chen didn't expose the fact that he had been awake for a long time, and idly looked around the cave while chewing on a biscuit.
"Hmm." Wen Yan chuckled dryly, slowly pulled away from his embrace, and said something befitting her character: "Achen, don't misunderstand, we're just friends."
Long Chen: "Hehe."
Su Jibai's eyes were filled with tenderness. Wen Yan could tell at a glance that his memories had been erased again. Su Jibai, who now possessed memories of the future, had a coldness in his eyes, like nearly transparent glass under the sun.
