"Thump!" That was the sound of a heavy object hitting the ground.
Ignoring whether there was anyone on the first floor, Fei Qingyu and Long Chen ran upstairs together.
Wen Yan felt as if she had been granted a pardon and hurriedly crawled out from under the stairs. Before she could even catch her breath, she caught a glimpse of the person in front of her and a chill instantly ran from the soles of her feet to the top of her head, raising goosebumps all over her body.
The person in front of him leaned leisurely against the stairs, holding a black flashlight in his hand, smiling warmly, and looking at him with a playful gaze.
He couldn't help but take a step back, his stiff body pressed against the wall, staring nervously at Su Jibai.
I'm so unlucky!
Why did you have to come and arrest me?
"I just happened to see you." Su Jibai walked over with a smile.
Wen Yan asked, "Who are you trying to fool? The other two went upstairs when they heard the noise, but you didn't even use a flashlight. You say it was just a coincidence? Were you waiting for me here on purpose?"
Su Jibai stopped in his tracks, his smile deepening, and he offered no rebuttal.
Wen Yan composed herself and tried to reason with him, "How did you know I was here?"
“If I see you going upstairs, you definitely won’t go up again.”
"Fine, I guess I'm just unlucky to have been caught by you." To confuse him, Wen Yan took two steps forward. "Make way, I'm going out."
Su Jibai took a few steps back, his eyes still fixed on him.
We have no choice but to take a gamble.
Wen Yan took two steps and then quickly changed direction, running out of the villa and into the yard.
In the dim moonlight, Su Jibai followed closely behind.
He really did look like prey caught by a hunter. Wen Yan turned and ran around the villa wall. Looking back and not seeing anyone, she immediately disappeared into the withered ivy.
He went in first, and Su Jibai followed right behind. Seeing that Wen Yan had disappeared, Su Jibai turned on his flashlight and shone it around casually.
Wen Yan clung to the wall, her eyes darting around erratically. When she saw the clusters of black lumps, her heart skipped a beat. Could there be snakes, ants, rats, or other insects among them...?
He closed his eyes, trying to comfort himself: if he couldn't see it, it didn't exist; if he couldn't see it, it didn't exist.
The beam of light flickered on the wall. Su Jibai chuckled and walked over.
Have they found him?
Wen Yan's heart tightened. She opened her eyes, estimated the distance between them, and prepared to use the same trick to escape immediately.
"Ouch!" A wail came from ahead. The brown wallpaper was torn off, and Ke Shuyao was pulled out. There was a fluorescent handprint on his left shoulder.
Su Jibai smiled and said, "Next time, change the color to something similar to the wall."
The beam of light went further and further away, Su Jibai was gone, and everything around fell silent.
Ke Shuyao tiptoed over and said, "Hey, come out."
Wen Yan peeked out from among the withered branches and leaves, and after confirming that there were no hunters around, patted his right shoulder, her eyes showing regret and gratitude, "I've dragged you into this."
Ke Shuyao grasped his hand, a strange sense of sorrow creeping into his voice, "Brothers are in my heart."
Wen Yan's lips twitched. "Let's go."
On the second floor, Lin Jiapeng wandered around and finally entered the room. The only place he could hide was the wardrobe. As soon as he stepped in, the wardrobe collapsed under its own weight.
Lin Chia-peng: "..." He's not that heavy, is he?
The sound was heard, and less than half a minute later, Long Chen and Fei Qingyu burst through the door. Long Chen kicked the overturned wardrobe, and hearing an empty echo, knew no one was inside. He then went to check under the bed.
The window was wide open, and the white curtains fluttered in the breeze. Fei Qingyu glanced at them twice, then turned and left.
"Let's go, there shouldn't be anyone here."
"Hmm, let's go check next door."
As the sound faded into the distance, Lin Jiapeng, who was clinging to the window, used his hands to push himself back into the room. Despite the freezing weather outside, he was covered in a cold sweat.
After the game, you can brag to Wenyan about how he managed to hang in the air with his amazing arm strength.
Lin Jiapeng's smug smile froze when he felt the touch on his back.
"Cousin, you're eliminated!" Fei Qingyu stepped out from behind the curtains and chuckled, "I knew you'd be here."
Lin Jiapeng said helplessly, "Can't you just let me go...?"
Fei Qingyu shook her head. "I've already promised two people. If I let you go, how are we hunters supposed to survive?"
Adhering to the idea that the most dangerous place is the safest place, Sanno squatted behind a vase on the second-floor balcony.
The vase is about half the size of a person. Although it doesn't contain flowers or trees, it's filled with soil, so it won't be blown over even in strong winds.
She had been standing there in the wind for a long time; her fingers were freezing and her legs were numb from squatting. Just as she was about to get up and move around a bit, she heard a noise coming from inside.
There were footsteps, and they were very close to her.
Sanno held his breath and lowered his head further and further until he almost became one with the vase.
You can't see me, you can't see me, you can't see me!
The door was opened, and someone came out.
Long Chen walked to the edge of the balcony and took in the entire courtyard, including Wen Yan crawling in the flowerbed and Su Jibai leisurely walking around.
He whistled, and when Su Jibai looked up, he pointed in the direction of the flowerbed.
Su Jibai lowered his footsteps and walked towards the flowerbed.
Seeing that there was no further movement in the courtyard, he prepared to return to the house when suddenly, out of the corner of his eye, he caught a glimpse of a strand of hair fluttering in the air.
When Sanno heard the door being opened, he thought he had escaped a disaster and was feeling happy, but then he was suddenly slapped on the shoulder.
In the attic, a few rays of moonlight shone through the window, barely enough to make out the general shape inside; otherwise, there was only darkness as thick as ink.
Having been here for so long, the silence, broken only by the sound of breathing, frightened her. Mosa couldn't help but ask, "Is it time yet?"
After the game started, Mosa ran upstairs to look for a place to hide, but the room was too empty and there was nowhere to hide.
Upon seeing Liu Xirou in the blink of an eye, she begged and pleaded to follow her.
“Probably not,” Liu Xirou’s eyes shone brightly in the darkness. “They’ll be calling for us everywhere after the game ends.”
"Knock knock knock!" Knocking sounds came from the place leading to the attic, and a muffled voice came up, "This is a good place to hide people. I have a feeling that someone is hiding up there."
It is the language of Fiji.
Mosa whispered, "There are two people."
Liu Xirou nodded and lowered her voice, "Let's hide outside."
Mosa asked in surprise, "Outside?"
"Hmm." Liu Xirou glanced at the small door that was about to be opened. "If we don't leave now, they'll be coming up."
Pushing open the window, Liu Xirou glanced outside, stuck one foot out to check for stability, and then climbed out.
Seeing Liu Xirou's dangerous actions, Mo Sha's eyes widened, and her hands and feet trembled slightly.
Won't it fall?
A hand reached out from outside the window, "Come on, we can sit on the roof."
The wooden planks at the entrance were kicked violently, making a series of cracking sounds. Mosa hardened her heart, grabbed the hand, and stepped out. At this point, she didn't want to be caught.
The moment she stepped over it, she felt a sense of weightlessness and frightened, she clung to Liu Xirou.
Liu Xirou patted her back and comforted her, "We succeeded. You were very brave."
Mosa nestled her face in the crook of her neck, her skin soft and delicate, emitting a faint fragrance. Her voice held a hint of shyness as she said, "Mmm... thank you."
The wooden plank flew and cracked. Fei Qingyu withdrew her foot and climbed up to the attic.
Long Chen looked at the thick wooden plank, then at Fei Qingyu's feet. This girl is incredibly strong...
"Huh? Why is no one here?" Fei Qingyu kicked the broken wooden planks and cabinets around her, but found nothing.
The wind howled past, and the window doors creaked. Long Chen peeked out for a while but found nothing.
The scene of the chase in the courtyard was quite amusing. Long Chen smiled and said, "Let's go down and help him."
"Who are you helping?" Fei Qingyu asked curiously as she jogged over to look.
In the courtyard, Wen Yan stood by the fountain, holding an unidentified object in her hand, while Su Jibai stood in place, the two facing each other in silence.
A love-hate relationship?
Fei Qingyu exclaimed excitedly, "Let's go! Let's go!"
As soon as the sound of footsteps rang out, Mosa eagerly stood up from the rooftop to see what was happening below. "Who are they chasing?"
Liu Xirou also stood up, exclaiming, "It's Ayan!"
The ground was dry, and Wenyan lay on the bluestone slab, crawling slowly.
"Snap!" Su Jibai originally wanted to scare him quietly, but unexpectedly stepped on a leaf.
Wen Yan turned around abruptly, and seeing the person behind her, she looked at him as if she had seen a ghost, scrambled to her feet, and ran away as fast as she could.
Su Jibai pursued relentlessly, like a ghost following him everywhere.
Wen Yan was on the verge of tears, and cried out, "Why do you keep coming to see me?"
"Because you keep appearing in front of me."
He talked to distract himself while looking around for something that could get him out of trouble.
I ran to the edge of the fountain and looked down; there was a patch of soft mud.
Wen Yan had a sudden inspiration. She picked up a clump of black mud and jumped onto the fountain. "If you take another step forward, I'll smear it in your face!"
Su Jibai indeed stopped moving, standing on the bluestone road, looking at him with a half-smile.
Two figures rushed out of the house. Long Chen looked at Su Jibai and smiled, "What, reluctant to part with him?"
Wen Yan glared at Long Chen. "You might as well donate your eyes," she thought. "This guy has been relentlessly pursuing me, and he still won't let go?!"
A smile flashed in Su Jibai's eyes. "Look at his hands."
Fei Qingyu and Long Chen looked over at the same time and saw a lump of black, sticky mud. Their expressions were indescribable.
"Anyone who wants my face covered in mud can come on over." Wen Yan raised her hand, looking at Long Chen triumphantly. "You wouldn't want Xi Rou to see you covered in mud, would you?"
Long Chen's face turned ashen. With nothing to hide from, he retreated directly behind Su Jibai.
Su Jibai: "..."
Wen Yan smiled and looked at Fei Qingyu, "You don't want to either..."
The thought of her beautiful face covered in sticky mud made her feel nauseous. She shook her head violently and retreated behind Long Chen.
The cell phone rang inside the room, and the game ended.
Laughter erupted from the balconies and rooftops not far away. Ke Shuyao was laughing so hard he could hardly breathe, tears streaming down his face. Sang Nuo next to him was also laughing so hard his stomach hurt. Mo Sha and Liu Xirou stood on the rooftop, laughing heartily.
Lin Jiapeng laughed heartily and gave a thumbs up, "Well done!"
Hearing their insane laughter, Lin Pianyue hurriedly crawled out of the closet to watch the spectacle.
The three hunters went from looking helpless to bursting into laughter, and Wen Yan happily threw away the mud and ran to the tap by the fence to wash her hands.
Lin Pianyue walked into the courtyard, looked up and saw Mo Sha and Liu Xirou standing on the roof. She said incredulously, "You guys are really going all out! You've even gotten to the roof."
The others then looked up at the roof and exclaimed in amazement, "Amazing!"
Long Chen's pupils contracted sharply, and his face turned deathly pale. "Xi Rou, the game is over. You've won. You can come down now."
"Slower!"
Liu Xirou and Mo Sha waved to them, "Don't worry, we're safe."
The two grabbed the window frame, and with a stride and a step, they were back in the attic, leaving the people below in awe.
Fei Qingyu muttered to herself, "No wonder I can't find them..."
