Chapter 19

Chapter 19

After leaving the playground, Xu Wang returned to the classroom.

Xu Wang had only been sitting in the classroom for a short while when he saw Jiang Yi and the class monitor appear at the door, chatting and laughing. Xu Wang looked up at them, then quickly sat down again.

When they went back that evening, Xu Wang took the initiative to walk over in his wheelchair and asked Jiang Yi, "Do you want to go back together?"

Jiang Yi had just made plans with a friend to go to a stationery store after school. Upon hearing Xu Wang's words, she declined, saying, "I'll go back later; I have plans with someone."

Xu Wang assumed he had invited the class monitor next to him, so he said "Oh," then lowered his eyes and didn't say anything more.

It wasn't until he saw Jiang Yi leaving the school gate with a girl when school ended that evening that he unconsciously breathed a sigh of relief.

When he got home, he saw Fu Zhaoya watering the flowers in the garden. Seeing that he had come back alone and looked a little unhappy, Fu Zhaoya quickly asked with a smile, "What's wrong? You look a little unhappy?"

Xu Wang, with a stern face, said, "No."

"No?" Fu Zhaoya seemed to see through everything, glanced in the direction of the door, and then said, "Xiao Yi hasn't come back yet, has she?"

Then he asked, "I heard your school has a competition today. Did you go watch Xiaoyi's competition?"

Xu Wang: "..."

Why bring her up again?

Xu Wangdao said, "No."

He was unwilling to admit that he had actually gone to see it.

Fu Zhaoya looked at her son, who was saying one thing but meaning another, smiled and shook her head, then put down the kettle and went inside.

Xu Wang went upstairs and lay down on the bed. He was a little sleepy, but he couldn't fall asleep at all. His mind was clear about Jiang Yi's appearance when she ran today. The girl with clean features had wet hair on her forehead, her eyes looked very clear, and she had a dashing and heroic look.

However, soon, the image of her playing with a group of friends flashed before his eyes again. She was chatting and laughing with them, and when she passed by him, her expression suddenly became much colder.

She went out with her friends today, but I don't know where they went.

Xu Wang's gaze fell on his legs. Although they had improved a lot, it would still be difficult to return to their previous state.

He pursed his lips tightly, and after a while, he slowly got up and continued training his legs.

Xu Wang's training was effective; before long, he was able to stand up on his own. Although walking was still somewhat difficult, he no longer needed anyone's support.

That day, as he was walking alone in his room, he saw Jiang Yi and Anan walking and talking downstairs.

The sun was shining brightly today. Young men and women walked along the road, sunlight filtering through the leaves and falling on them. A gentle breeze rustled the flowers, plants, and trees along the roadside, creating a serene atmosphere.

Because it looked so wonderful, Xu Wang, who was training alone, became a little unhappy. So he called someone over and said with a somewhat displeased expression, "Call Jiang Yi up here."

When the butler saw the young master's unpleasant expression, he couldn't help but feel a little uneasy, fearing that the young master might lose his temper. However, thinking about his interactions with Jiang Yi during this time, the butler felt that Jiang Yi was quite capable of dealing with the young master. So, after a brief moment of worry, he quickly left.

Jiang Yi was chatting with Anan when she heard the housekeeper say that Xu Wang was looking for her. She looked puzzled for a moment. She knew that Xu Wang had been avoiding her lately for some reason. She wondered what had gotten into him today that made him suddenly look for her again.

"Fine, I'll find him then," she said, and then said goodbye to Anan. Before leaving, she repeated what she had just said, "Anan, I think you really need to think about this carefully. You're still young..."

Even as Anan interrupted her, a smile played in his eyes: "Okay, I'll consider it."

Looking at his expression, Jiang Yi knew that he hadn't taken her words to heart at all. She couldn't help but sigh softly before going upstairs.
