Chapter 20
When Jiang Yi got upstairs, she saw Xu Wang sitting on the balcony, looking out the window.
The boy had his head down, and his bangs were a bit long. The wind blew by, carrying a hint of youthful energy.
Jiang Yi glanced at the boy and then called out, "Young Master."
Xu Wang looked over at this moment, his gaze falling on her. He sized her up for a while and then asked, "What were you saying to Anan downstairs just now?"
Jiang Yi explained, "Anan doesn't want to go to school, and I want to try to persuade him."
"Oh, you're so kind. You care about all kinds of people."
Jiang Yi didn't understand why he suddenly became sarcastic. Hearing his words, she felt a bit annoyed. She didn't want to be the one being bullied, so she directly retorted, "This is my own business. Young Master, please feel free to say anything. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving."
She gets along so well with Anan, yet she's so impatient with me.
Hearing her impatient tone, Xu Wang felt a little annoyed. He wanted to say something, but he didn't know what to say. In the end, he could only say coldly, "Go and get me a glass of water."
Jiang Yi looked at the boy, whose temper had suddenly turned sour in a short while, and felt a little puzzled. Why was he suddenly angry?
But what did it have to do with her that he was angry? She hadn't provoked him, so she turned around and went to pour him some water.
She poured a cup of hot water, and when Xu Wang took the cup, he found that the water was completely undrinkable. And this person didn't seem to realize this at all, and was just watching him with an indescribable innocent look in her eyes.
This made him not know how to unleash his power when he wanted to.
Finally, all he could say coldly was, "Get out."
Jiang Yi was already used to the boy's unpredictable moods. To be honest, she was quite happy that he told her to leave. After all, she didn't want to stay here and serve this eccentric boy, so she turned around and left.
Xu Wang was just saying that casually, but when he looked up and saw that Jiang Yi had actually left, he couldn't help but feel a little depressed.
This girl seemed reluctant to come, but left as quickly as she could. Did she really not want to see me? Did she hate me that much?
As Xu Wang thought about it, he became increasingly annoyed, so he put down his water glass and asked someone to call Anan up.
Anan didn't expect that after calling Jiang Yi upstairs, the young master would call him back. When he got upstairs, he saw the boy with a livid face, who clearly wasn't in a good mood, and his heart skipped a beat.
Did the young master have a fight with Jiang Yi?
I don't know if she suffered any losses.
Thinking this, he quickly asked, "Young Master, what brings you here?"
Xu Wang's expression was somewhat cold as he looked at him and said, "Did Jiang Yi ask you to go to school?"
Anan never expected it to be this.
The young master had never cared about his going to school before.
I wonder why the young master asked this time...
Anan pursed his lips and said, "Yes."
"Then why don't you go?"
Anan opened his mouth, but for a moment, he didn't know whether to refute it.
Then I heard the boy say this.
“The Xu family doesn’t need someone who has no education. Starting tomorrow, you will go to school.”
Anan wanted to explain, but the boy in front of him already had an indescribable impatience in his eyes, so no matter what Anan said, he didn't want to listen.
Having lived in the Xu family for several years, he had come to understand that the young master was a man of his word, and if he wanted to stay in the Xu family, he had no choice but to obey the young master.
But why did the young master suddenly bring this up?
Because of Jiang Yi?
Anan lowered his eyes, concealing the emotions within them, and then bowed his head and said, "Yes, young master."
Jiang Yi cared about him more than herself, which made Xu Wang very unhappy. Therefore, he didn't give the boy a friendly look. Feeling that he had said what he needed to say, Xu Wang asked him to leave.
After Anan left, Xu Wang stayed alone in the room, feeling increasingly agitated the more he thought about it.
The next day, when Jiang Yi got up to go to school, she saw Anan carrying his schoolbag and heading to school as well.
Jiang Yi was surprised to see Anan going to school. She glanced at Anan and then at the boy in the wheelchair next to him. He was wearing a white school uniform today, with clean features and a youthful spirit. When she looked over, the boy also looked over, but he only glanced at her before looking away.
But with just that one glance, she already knew why Anan had agreed to go to school.
Jiang Yi was a little happy, and a smile unconsciously appeared on her lips.
She wanted to thank Xu Wang, but with Anan beside her, she didn't feel comfortable speaking up. Besides, the boy seemed a bit arrogant; despite having done a good deed, he acted as if he didn't want to talk to her, making Jiang Yi want to reach out and pinch his cold face.
However, she ultimately said nothing. After thinking for a while, she felt that Xu Wang had done her such a big favor, and she should do something to thank him, such as buying him a gift...
With that in mind, she went to the bookstore to buy him a gift after school that evening.
Unexpectedly, they ran into class monitor Yu Zhe at the bookstore.
When Yu Zhe saw that she was also in the bookstore, he walked over, smiled, and said, "What a coincidence."
The bookstore is right next to the school, and students often come here after school. Jiang Yi often runs into her classmates here, which is not really a coincidence.
Jiang Yi didn't say much, only asking, "Class monitor, are you here to buy things too?"
"Yes, buy study guides."
What about you? What are you buying?
Jiang Yi was looking at the fountain pen in front of her, feeling troubled. Hearing Yu Zhe's words, she smiled and explained, "I want to buy a fountain pen for a friend as a thank-you gift, but I don't know which one to buy. Class monitor, do you know which brand is better?"
"Boy or girl?"
"Boy."
Upon hearing that it was a boy, Yu Zhe paused for a moment, then recommended a fountain pen that he thought was quite good, saying, "I used to use this brand often. You can buy one and try it out; the price-performance ratio should be quite good."
It was just a simple thank-you gift, and Jiang Yi's budget was very limited. After glancing at the price, she thought, "The class monitor is so reliable, anything he recommends must be good."
Anyway, he was just expressing his gratitude; whether Xu Wang liked it or not was his own business.
So, following Yu Zhe's recommendation, she bought him a fountain pen.
Lu Yang happened to see the two of them buying pens together at the bookstore. Out of curiosity, he took a picture of them and sent it to Xu Wang.
Xu Wang, who hadn't gone home with Jiang Yi and was still wondering what she was doing, suddenly lost his temper when he saw the photos Lu Yang had sent.
Well, I helped her so much yesterday, and today she's going shopping with other people.
