Chapter 32

Chapter 32

After finishing their run, they both felt a bit hungry, so they looked at each other.

Xu Wang said, "Shall we go get something to eat?"

Jiang Yi: "Actually, I was just about to say that too."

Xu Wang tilted his head, puzzled, and asked, "Then why didn't you say so just now?"

"Because I'm afraid you'll think I'm too greedy."

Xu Wang opened his mouth, then laughed and said, "No, why would I think you're greedy?"

"Isn't this to leave a good impression on my future partner?"

Upon hearing her words, Xu Wang's expression showed a hint of regret as he said, "Is it someone from the future? Why not someone from now?"

"Because you are still in the evaluation period, it will take some more time."

"Then I need to work harder." The boy's eyes curved into a smile, carrying a youthful charm that was very attractive, and his eyes were also very bright.

Jiang Yi clenched her fist to encourage him, saying, "Okay, then keep up the good work!"

The two looked at each other and smiled, and then headed together towards the food street behind the school.

The food street is filled with the aroma of various snacks, their fragrance tantalizing and whetting one's appetite.

Jiang Yi was already feeling a bit hungry, and the aroma made her stomach rumble even more. She quickened her pace and went to her usual food stall. After choosing the barbecue she wanted, she sat down.

Xu Wang sat down opposite him. Because he had just run, the boy's face was covered with fine sweat. He looked sunny and healthy, as if he were wrapped in the warm spring sunshine.

Jiang Yi looked at him and smiled.

He looked at her and smiled.

Between young men and women who are more than friends but not quite lovers, there is always an enviable sweetness and ambiguity.

The barbecue restaurant owner, watching the interaction between the two, felt that the air was filled with a sweet scent, like the aroma of honey, subtle yet deeply enticing, sweetening the heart and soul.

The barbecue we ordered arrived quickly: grilled eggplant, chicken wings, and various fried items. It smelled incredibly fragrant, but it was also bursting with heat.

Jiang Yi took a bite and found the taste incredibly delicious. Her mouth was filled with the flavor of barbecue and cumin, making her unable to resist taking another bite.

As she ate, she clicked her tongue and said, "I reckon I'll gain two pounds tonight after eating this."

Xu Wang also picked up a piece to eat. Hearing her words, he said to her, "You're not fat. Even if you gain two more pounds, it won't matter."

The barbecue was only mildly spicy, but Jiang Yi felt the spiciness in her mouth. She inhaled and said, "You don't understand. Girls value thinness. Don't you like thin girls?"

Seeing that she was suffering from the spiciness, Xu Wang poured her a glass of water, pushed it in front of her, and continued eating the barbecue in front of him. He smiled and said, "I'm not that superficial. I don't just look at appearance. I also look at personality, character, and whether I like it or not. If I like it, I'll like it even if it's fat. If I don't like it, I won't like it even if it's skinny."

Jiang Yi was pleased by what he said, her lips curved into a smile, and small dimples appeared on both sides.

After finishing their barbecue, the two of them strolled around the area and saw many shops selling small trinkets.

Girls love these kinds of things the most. Although they're not expensive, they're pretty and sparkly. When they passed by, many girls were picking them out. Seeing this, Jiang Yi also picked one out.

She picked out a green butterfly hair clip and tried to put it on, but she couldn't get it in the right place. Just as she was about to give up in frustration, Xu Wang reached out from the side and said with a smile, "Let me help you."

Jiang Yi then gave him the hair clip.

The man took the hair clip, and his face became serious. His serious expression made it seem as if he was doing something very important, not just simply putting a hair clip on her hair.

He moved very carefully, afraid of hurting her, so he watched her expression several times. Seeing her lower her head and wait patiently, he gently clipped it into her hair.

The girl's hair smelled of roses, a sweet and alluring fragrance.

Xu Wang smelled the pleasant scent, let go of her hand, took a small mirror, and showed it to her: "Check if you've positioned it correctly."

Jiang Yi glanced at herself in the mirror. The clip was already done, and the green butterfly on her head gently spread its wings, looking very beautiful as if it were about to take flight. Jiang Yi was delighted and immediately wanted to buy it.

Then, I took it off. When I took it off, the hair clip got caught on my hair and got wrapped up quite tightly, and started to knot.

After paying, Xu Wang came over again and helped her take off the hair clip.

When the hairpin was taken off, their fingers touched each other, and as if they had been electrocuted, they pulled back. Then, they looked up at each other and saw the blush on each other's faces.

The two met up a few more times after that, with similar itineraries. Jiang Yi ate late-night snacks several times in a row, and felt that her face had become quite round. Fortunately, when she weighed herself, she found that she had not gained weight, and she was relieved.

Time flew by, and soon it was time for final exams.

In preparation for the start of final exams, Xu Wang and Jiang Yi began spending their time at the library.

The two would meet at the library whenever they had free time, to the point that everyone assumed they were a couple.

To be honest, Jiang Yi also felt that the two of them were like a couple now, just short of breaking the ice between them.

However, she despicably felt that she had no intention of breaking the ice at all.

It's not for any other reason, but I just feel that a long-lasting, steady relationship between two people seems like a very beautiful thing.

As the weather gets colder, it's freezing outside, but the library is warm and cozy with the heating on.

That day, Jiang Yi took off her coat and put it on the back of her chair. She held a cup of milk tea in her hand and was doing her homework while drinking it when it started to snow outside.

This year's snow is unusually late. Everyone has been looking forward to snow for a long time, but it hasn't come yet, so everyone can only wait and wait.

Finally, as they buried themselves in their writing, snowflakes fell from the sky like fairies.

Xu Wang was engrossed in his homework next to him. The library was full of people; some were coming and going with water bottles, some were reading, and some were teaching their classmates how to solve problems. He, however, was focused on his homework with his head down. He was already good-looking, and when he did his homework, his focused expression made his profile even more attractive than usual.

Jiang Yi didn't want to disturb him, but she also wanted to go out and play in the snow, so she quietly got up and planned to go out.

At that moment, Xu Wang raised his head, his calm eyes looking at her quietly, and asked with a smile, "Where are you planning to go?"

At this moment, Jiang Yi suddenly felt like she had been caught slacking off. They had come to study together, so why was she trying to slip away now?

But the little devils outside were so tempting that he couldn't resist the urge to fly out and play. So, despite feeling a little guilty, she pointed to the snow-covered wilderness outside the window and said, "I want to go out and wander around."

Xu Wang stood up, picked up his things, packed them into his schoolbag, slung it over his shoulder, and said, "Let's go then."

Jiang Yi was surprised that he was leaving so soon, and said with a hint of astonishment in her eyes, "Why so early? I'll be back later."

Xu Wang smiled and glanced at the snow-covered landscape outside the window. The world was a beautiful expanse of silver. As more snowflakes fell, the snow on the ground grew heavier and heavier.

He turned his gaze back to her face, his dark eyes shining brightly, and said, "I reckon you might linger there for a while, so you might as well go back and have some fun. Anyway, there's no exam tomorrow."

Jiang Yi had no objections and readily agreed.

So the two packed their things, and Jiang Yi ran out with light steps, while the man followed behind with his schoolbag, looking relaxed and carefree. To outsiders, it even looked like she was making a fuss and he was laughing behind her in a sweet way.
