Chapter 171 Sudden Curse

"Sir, the situation is dire. We must evacuate immediately. An encirclement has begun to form around us."

The leader of the men in black had only his two piercing eyes visible, which were like eagle claws, staring intently at Xie Zhou in front of him.

They had barely managed to hold out this long, only to find themselves outnumbered and outgunned by an increasing number of sects approaching. To save the day, they had to leave immediately.

The mysterious man in black then lowered his knife, stepped back, and turned to the other men in black, saying, "Retreat now!"

The command was given in a low, unquestionable tone. Soon, the black man threw down several talismans, and a cloud of smoke filled the air. Song Wu and his men rushed over, but they were engulfed in the smoke and could not see any trace of the man in black. Taking advantage of this opening, the mysterious man in black quickly withdrew and left the place.

Xie Zhou looked at the surrounding smoke and knew that the men in black would definitely retreat. After all, their power was waning, and to preserve some of their strength, they had to escape; it was the wisest choice.

Xie Zhou raised his hand to fan away the smoke that was about to choke him.

Senior Brother Song plunged headfirst into the smoke, shouting, "Thank you, Junior Sister! Thank you, Junior Sister! Senior Brother Luo..."

Soon Xie Zhou heard a familiar voice say, "We're here!"

"Senior Brother Song, is that you?"

"Yes, yes..."

I see you! I'm right in front of you!

The smoke was quickly dispersed by a gust of wind, and Xie Zhou and the others had rejoined the main force.

The people from Wuyou Pavilion and the Sword Sect happened to see each other. Xie Zhou looked around, and the other small sects followed.

Some disciples were injured and being helped up. Xie Zhou could tell that three small sects had suffered serious injuries, with several disciples having been attacked in the legs or other parts of their bodies.

Xie Zhou exchanged a few words with Senior Brother Song and Senior Brother Luo, then took several bottles of healing medicine and headed towards the three minor sects.

"This is medicine for healing wounds, here you go!"

"Judging from your appearance, you must have fought against the mysterious men in black on your first encounter. Did you see their true faces?"

A senior student stepped forward, took the medicine, and shook his head, saying, "No, they were wrapped up tightly, only their eyes were showing. There was no way to tell who they were."

"Hmm... but which direction did these mysterious men in black come from? And what are they after?"

"We don't know for sure. We only remember that the mysterious black man suddenly appeared, as if he had been lying in ambush beforehand. He attacked our sect directly. Then two other sects arrived and were injured. Fortunately, the young lady led everyone to help us."

Senior Brother Song also came over, bowed slightly, looking remorseful, and said, "This matter originally belonged to our Wuyou Pavilion, and we are very sorry to have involved everyone. We will definitely catch these mysterious men in black and demand an explanation."

Since Senior Brother Song was so polite, the other sects didn't pursue the matter any further.

One of the disciples from the Heavenly Fire Sect stepped forward and said, "Miss, may I ask your name? I don't think I saw you much during the martial arts competition. These men in black defeated the Scorpion Sect first and then took their place to participate in this Holy Land training!"

"Greetings, brother. I am a disciple of the Sword Sect, surnamed Xie, named Zhou. You may call me by my name. May I ask who this Scorpion Sect is?"

"Thank you for your company earlier, young lady. We were just having a martial arts competition with the Scorpion Sect, and we were slightly better. Then the Scorpion Sect started fighting a group of mysterious men in black who appeared out of nowhere. The mysterious men in black claimed to be competitors from a distant country who had long admired the Holy Land. They didn't find anything strange and agreed to the challenge. In the end, they defeated the Scorpion Sect, and the mysterious men in black became the last team to enter the Holy Land trial."

"Um……"

Xie Zhou nodded, and then went to discuss countermeasures with Song Wu and Senior Brother Luo.

"Senior Brother Luo, it seems that the mysterious black-clad man's forces are targeting your Wuyou Pavilion again. We need to be careful this time, as they have openly launched attacks on several other minor sects."

"Of course we know that, but we still managed to get rid of this group of men in black."

"It's alright, they were beaten to a pulp in the battle just now, and their numbers are no match for ours!"

"Hmm... but that black leader seems to have a lot of issues with you?"

"I haven't told you about this because I haven't been able to return to the mountain gate in the Monster Mountain Range because I've been held back by the leader of this group of men in black. They once planned to use a beast tide to open a place of worship, but I don't know exactly what it is. I've been entangled with that leader for a long time."

"Hmm... but how should we figure out a way to get rid of these mysterious men in black?"

"Let's kill them if they get in our way. When they arrive, do you think we can't beat those few guys? Besides, they've already retreated."

"Yes……"

Suddenly, the senior brother leading the Heavenly Fire Sect felt something on his neck, a series of stinging sensations, as if something was crawling up his neck. When he tried to touch it, he found black lines appearing on his hand.

The reaction is getting more and more intense, and it's extremely painful!

"Aaaaaah!..."

Feeling the swelling on his back, he wanted to ask the other disciples for help.

But he found that he couldn't speak at all.
