This flower is very strange. Every night, it emits a dazzling array of colors, a truly bizarre and radiant display. It's as if a thousand rays of light are shining down on the earth, illuminating the surrounding area.
It was both extremely eerie and incredibly beautiful and dazzling to look at.
Flowers don't only shine at night.
During the day, whenever the sun shines, this flower becomes even more dazzling and incredibly beautiful.
Not only that, Xie Zhou initially didn't pay much attention to the flower, not taking it seriously. Although he didn't know why the flower emitted dazzling, multicolored light when exposed to sunlight during the day.
I don't know why, but at night, it also emits a dazzling array of colors, just like a luminous pearl.
But perhaps this is simply a characteristic of this flower.
Everything has different characteristics.
Xie Zhou thought to himself, "Fortunately, I can use my magic to cover some of it."
But then one day, something happened that made Xie Zhou look at the flower in a completely different light.
That morning, Xie Zhou walked alone on the street.
The street was very noisy and crowded with people. Many children were gathered around a sugar figurine stall, their eyes fixed on it, their mouths watering, staring intently at the various sugar figurines on the stall.
The old man's sugar figurine skills are one in a hundred, extremely rare. He has been selling sugar figurines on this street for decades.
He's making sugar figurines here, and his wife is mixing sugar beside him.
The elderly couple worked together very well.
A little girl, not very tall, only about five or six years old, was extremely cute. She had two little braids in her hair and her face was rosy. Holding a silver coin in her hand, she looked up at the sugar figurine stall and asked the old man who was making sugar figurines a question.
"Grandpa, how much is this sugar figurine?"
The old man chuckled sheepishly and said, "Two coins!"
The little girl's mouth immediately pursed, she frowned, clenched the copper coin in her hand tightly, and then looked at the old man and said, "Grandpa, but I only have one here, can you sell me one?"
"Of course not." The old man looked at the little girl and said, "Hurry up and go, what are you doing wandering around here if you don't have any money? Don't delay my business."
As he spoke, the old man shooed the child away.
The child hid to one side and burst into tears, so angry that he threw away the only copper coin he had.
A copper coin was utterly useless to her; if she couldn't buy her beloved sugar figurine, why keep it?
It would be more useful to pick up a small pebble nearby; at least it would give her something to play with for a while.
At this moment, Xie Zhou suddenly appeared in front of her, bent down, picked up the silver, walked to the little girl, squatted down, stroked her hair, and comforted her: "Don't cry, come on, sister will take you to buy sugar figurines."
"No, I won't buy it, I don't have enough money."
"It's okay, I have some here."
As he spoke, Xie Zhou pulled the little girl over to the candy cart, stared at the old man, and said, "Hey, why are you so annoying? Do you have to make that child cry?"
"It's just a matter of one tael of silver, why can't we lower the price and sell this child a sugar figurine for one tael of silver?"
The old man, not to be outdone, glared at Xie Zhou, his reputation for honesty and integrity, and his refusal to haggle. He said, "If I charge less than a tael of silver here and less than a tael of silver there, what am I supposed to do? My wife will beat me when I get home tonight."
Hearing this, the wife stood up, walked over, grabbed the old man's ear, and scolded him, "Useless old man. If you don't sell it to this little girl cheaper, I'll beat you. You have no compassion at all."
"Don't you know how to make a child happy?"
"Ouch, ouch, quick, let go, you're pinching me so hard!" the old man cried out, pushing his wife's hand away. He looked at Xie Zhou and the little girl and said, "Alright, since my wife has spoken, I'll sell the sugar figurine for one copper coin to this little girl."
"That's great, thank you Grandpa!" The little girl was very happy.
Xie Zhou glared at the old man and said, "Who wants your charity? I just want to teach you a lesson. I have plenty of silver here." After saying that, he took out a bag of silver, counted out ten coins, and placed them on the sugar figurine stall.
Then he said to the old man, "I'll buy all the sugar figurines and give them to the children."
The old man was overjoyed when he saw it; snot bubbles were practically coming out of his nose from laughing so hard. He took the sugar figurine and handed it out to the children.
Everyone happily ran off with their sugar figurines in hand.
The little girl took the sugar figurine, a pure smile on her face. She gently tugged at Xie Zhou's clothes.
Xie Zhou bent down, and the girl pecked her on the cheek. Then she said, "Thank you, sister."
After saying that, she happily ran off, calling to her friends, "Wait for me! Count me in! I have some sugar figurines too, let me play with you!"
The children ran off into the distance.
Seeing that it was getting late, the old man packed up his sugar figurine cart and prepared to push it home with his wife.
The two elderly people pushed the sugar cart, taking small, quick steps, slowly carrying the sugar figurines home.
Suddenly, two mischievous boys caught Xie Zhou's attention.
These two naughty boys were sneaking around, and they looked like shifty-eyed rats.
He covered his hands with his chest, convinced that a sharp blade was hidden inside.
Two mischievous boys followed closely behind the old man and his wife on the candy cart. When they entered a small alley, the two boys shouted loudly, "Hey, stop!"
The old man and his wife were startled and put down their sugar figurine cart. The old man turned around and looked at the two mischievous boys, asking, "What's wrong?"
A mischievous boy pulled open his clothes, revealing a gleaming blade. He pointed it at the old man and said, "Lend me a couple of coins. You must be making quite a bit of money every day, right?"
Upon seeing the knife, the wife collapsed to the ground, kicked her legs, and fainted.
The old man was also trembling with fear. Looking at the two bad boys, he said, "Brothers, please don't hurt them. I'll give you as much silver as you want."
"Enough with the nonsense, just give it to me."
The old man quickly handed over all the money he had earned to the two rascals.
"Hehe, big brother, we've got food and drinks for tonight."
"What a useless person! All he does after getting the money is eat and drink?"
"Then what are you doing?"
"Big brother will take you to have some fun."
"What kind of fun are you looking for?"
"You'll find out when we get there. Come with me now."
"Where are you going?"
The two rascals took the silver and were about to leave happily.
But Xie Zhou was already blocking the alley's exit, hands on his hips, glaring at the two bad boys.
