Chapter 1035 Birth

In the afternoon, Aunt Chen helped Er Ya stimulate her milk production. Soon the baby would have food to eat.

That evening, the two elderly people also learned that Er Ya had given birth.

Zhang Xingguo muttered, "Why is it always that kid?"

"Is the kid not good?"

“Old Gu, I still regret that I don’t have a daughter. You said that Shouyi is not as caring as Hongmei. A daughter is still better.”

Gu Chuanming thought for a moment and nodded. "That's true. Our family really needs a daughter now. Although we have Annie, we only see her once a year."

Zhang Hongmei calmly ate her meal, completely ignoring the two of them.

I also love daughters, but I won't have any for the next few years. These four are already killing me, how can I possibly raise them all?

After lunch and a nap, Zhang Hongmei looked at her four sons with disdain and said, "It would be nice if you had two girls."

The four little ones were crawling around on the bed with the fence, and no one paid any attention to Zhang Hongmei.

Looking at her four energetic children, Zhang Hongmei longed for a daughter even more.

Time flies, and summer is here; it's already July.

Zhang Hongmei felt a little uneasy, wondering if Annie and Daniel would be able to come this year.

Now all four little ones are ten months old and can stand up. Time flies so fast. Every day is spent taking care of the four children, and it's been almost a year and a half since we've gone out.

I looked in the mirror and saw that I was still as youthful, beautiful, and energetic as ever; I hadn't aged. But my mindset seemed to have aged.

Ping An from Er Ya's family will be here soon; Wang Ying is pregnant now. Aunt Chen is taking care of her there again. So Lu Jing is going to pick them up.

The four little ones can now fully understand what adults say, but they just won't speak. Zhang Hongmei isn't worried about that. She thinks their daily wailing and howling are fine; their throats and vocal cords are perfectly healthy, and speaking is just a matter of time.

"You four better behave yourselves, Ping An's coming over in a bit. If any of you misbehave... hmph!"

The four of them exchanged a glance, then calmly sat down and continued playing with their toys.

Er Ya, Cheng Guangxu, and Liu Maocai's family of three all came. Liu Pengfei is now over two years old, making him one of the oldest among these children.

Everyone is in the living room, and now the middle of the room is particularly empty, specially reserved for the children to play.

The four children finally met their playmates and each gave one of their toys to Liu Pengfei. But if you wanted more, you couldn't get any.

Several adults sat to the side watching and laughing. This child is really something.

"Third Aunt, are you getting used to it?"

"Everything is fine. Pengfei will start kindergarten here in September."

"That's great. The education here is better than back home."

"You and my third uncle don't need to go back either. Sanya and Shitou are about to take their exams. They can come over once the results are out. All three of them are in the capital, what's the point of you going back?"

"That's what I told your third uncle too. He can't stand staying here. You don't know, he's been infested with lice for the past six months. He's itchy all over, but he just can't be bothered to stay here."

"What nonsense are you talking about? How can this place be as good as Liujiatun? I'm stuck in the fields every day, unable to get out of bed. Of course I'm uncomfortable."

Uncle, why don't you go work in the underwear factory's warehouse when Pengfei starts kindergarten?

"Okay, as long as I'm not left here."

Li Cuihua was quite happy, since she wasn't at home farming and didn't earn any money.

Pengfei's schooling costs money, and although Sanya and Shitou's university education is free, they still need dowries, betrothal gifts, and houses. These are all things that need to be considered.

Zhang Hongmei knew what the elderly couple was thinking, but she didn't try to persuade them otherwise.

The five little ones were playing with building blocks on the carpet. Er Ya watched from the side and said, "Hong Mei, your four little ones are too cunning. Our Peng Fei is no match for them at all."

“Our Pengfei is honest. My grandfather and father-in-law read to these four children every day, and we’re starting to cultivate their character from now on.”

"Hehe, isn't that too early!"

"I don't care, let them do whatever they want."

"You really know how to make things easy for yourself."

"What else can we do? Brother Zhang said that people will come to train them in three weeks. For now, I just need to make sure they don't go hungry."

Zhang Hongmei took Ping An and said, "This child looks just like my sister Er Ya."

Cheng Guangxu objected, “Hongmei, look, its forehead misses me, its chin misses me.”

"Cheng Guangxu, how's your game design coming along? If you don't work hard to earn money, how will you raise your children in the future?"

"I'll start when I get back today."

"I knew it was you."

"Hongmei, this guy only cares about the kids all day and doesn't want to do anything else," Er Ya complained about Cheng Guangxu, exposing his true colors.

"Sister Er Ya, what are you planning to do? You'll be getting your graduation certificate soon, what are your thoughts on finding a job?"

"I want to work at a research institute. That way, the three of us can see each other every day."

“Alright, Grandma asked me a while ago, and I think you’ll probably choose this one. Since Cheng Guangxu has time now, let’s get the onboarding done first, and then you two can go together. But what about the child? It’s not very convenient for Third Aunt to go there.”

"I'll have to go through the onboarding process in a while, and I can't go to work yet. I'll wait until my child is older before I go back to work."

"Okay, let's prioritize the children."

“Cheng Guangxu misses his son. At first, I thought about having my mother take care of the child, but then I realized that we can only come back once in a while, and I can’t bear to leave him.”

“Then you can’t go off track. Even though Cheng Guangxu earns money to support the family, we women can’t completely depend on him. You can write novels or scripts in your spare time. I’ll show you the script in a bit so you can get a general idea. That way you won’t miss taking care of the children.”

"This is a good idea; it allows us to schedule our time."

"Yes, freelancing suits you. Don't neglect your foreign language and computer studies."

Cheng Guangxu initially wanted to argue when Zhang Hongmei tried to persuade Er Ya not to rely on herself, but after hearing the rest, he realized that Hongmei was right and remained silent.

"Now Wang Ying is focused entirely on her pregnancy," Zhang Hongmei sighed. That carefree girl was so devoted to having a child.

"That's right, she's only dared to get out of bed now that she's been pregnant for over four months. You don't know, Zeng Zhongkang is taking exceptionally good care of Wang Ying every day. Last time we went to see Wang Ying, Zeng Zhongkang's cooking skills had improved by leaps and bounds."

"Hehe, Wang Ying is so lucky."

Cheng Guangxu scoffed, "Is this what happiness is?"

They both nodded simultaneously, "Of course."

The old lady came over and took Ping An from her. The little guy stared at her. His big, round eyes were so endearing. Although he wasn't as strong as Hongmei's child, he was still quite heavy.
