Chapter 1346 Cold War

Zhang Hongmei remained motionless as he held her, without answering him.

"Let go of me. I'm not in the mood to think about this right now. Stay away from me."

"I won't let go, don't abandon me." Zhang Shouyi buried his head in Zhang Hongmei's shoulder, and warm tears flowed into Zhang Hongmei's neck.

Zhang Hongmei was also heartbroken. Their relationship had been so good for so many years, and she knew Zhang Shouyi truly loved her. But she just couldn't get over this hurdle in her heart. Perhaps she was being overly sentimental, but she really didn't want to wrong herself.

"Let me go."

Hearing Zhang Hongmei's cold voice, Zhang Shouyi felt like dying. What had he done? How could his happy family have turned out like this?

"Wife, please don't do this."

"Zhang Shouyi, let go. Give me some time to figure things out on my own."

"Wife, I'll stay by your side. Think about it slowly."

And I'm telling the truth, I really didn't know what was going on back then. Now that I think about it, it feels like I was being controlled by someone.

Honestly, since she was transferred here, I've never met her alone. Even during work reports, Xiao Li was always present.

Wife, with you by my side, how could I possibly be interested in anyone else?

"Wife, I beg you, please don't treat me like this, I can't take it. Don't worry, I will definitely not let her get away with this."

"Zhang Shouyi, don't try to be tough in front of me. I've already said, let me go and let me think things through."

In the end, Zhang Shouyi let go of Zhang Hongmei, looking at her with heartache. His sad expression made Zhang Hongmei feel bad too, and her eyes instantly welled up with tears.

"Leave. I need to think things through in peace." She believed what Zhang Shouyi said, but that didn't mean she could accept it.

Zhang Shouyi turned and left the bedroom, the room where they got married, but now it was also the room his wife was kicking him out of.

Instead of leaving Fuzeyuan, he went to the study next door, sat down in a chair, and blanked out his mind, just staring blankly into space.

Xiao Li stood outside the door, not daring to disturb his superior. What exactly was going on? He could understand his wife's behavior; he remembered very clearly asking his superior why that woman had been transferred up, and the superior had been stunned, seemingly quite confused.

Something has finally happened, and the lady is very intolerant of any wrongdoing. What should we do?

The next morning, Zhang Hongmei got up to practice Tai Chi, and Zhang Shouyi accompanied her.

The four of them sat at the dinner table, but the joyful atmosphere of the past was gone.

After a dull breakfast, Zhang Hongmei returned to her study; she still had many things to do.

Zhang Shouyi also went to work. Only the two elderly people remained, sighing deeply. What could they do?

Yesterday, in front of them, that girl didn't give Shouyi any face at all. This is really not a good sign.

"Old Gu, what should we do?"

"Let's take it slow. Hongmei is angry right now, and we two shouldn't get involved."

In just one night, Zhang Xingguo developed a mouth full of blisters. He was really worried; they were both getting on in years, their grandchildren were about to get married, and yet he and his wife were having a fight.

Zhang Hongmei entered the space at noon and took a nap there.

After leaving, she felt much better. She didn't mention going back, and neither did the two elderly people, so they stayed at Fuzeyuan.

When Zhang Shouyi returned home from get off work that evening, he was much quieter. Today, he had been like a raging fire dragon in the office, and everyone was on edge.

Xiao Li wanted to offer some advice, but didn't know how to say it.

Sitting in the study that night, Xiao Li felt that this really couldn't go on. If his health collapsed, something terrible would happen.

"Boss, this won't do. You have a lot of things to do. And the young masters will be back soon; they'll be worried."

Zhang Shouyi glanced blankly at Xiao Li, then stood up and lay down on the soft couch.

Xiao Li opened his mouth to try to persuade his superior to go back to his room, but it was really not a good time to bother him now. Oh well, at least he had already gone to bed himself.

The next day, Chengzi brought over Tang Feiyan and Qin Shuang's reports.

Zhang Hongmei checked it and found no problems. That would be fine. She'd ask her sons for their opinions when they returned.

Zhang Hongmei is now making arrangements to return to Liujiatun. They will go back together the day after her sons return, and if any of them are interested, she will arrange for them to meet.

Once things are settled for the four of them, I plan to stay in Haishi long-term, coming back every Saturday and Sunday to spend time with the children.

Zhang Ruifeng and Gu Yaozu also returned. The four brothers sat in the living room, and Zhang Zhenye recounted what had happened at home.

Gu Yaozu frowned. "Boss, this matter is very serious. That's just how Mom is. It will be very difficult to get her through this."

The other three people shared the same idea.

"Alright, we're leaving tomorrow. You guys go pack your things and head back."

The four brothers boarded a plane heading back, which made Zhao Qingyu extremely envious.

They didn't stop along the way, their only thought was to get home. They were so worried about Zhang Hongmei; they had never seen their parents argue before, not even as far back as they could remember.

This is no small matter. Their own mother was actually bullied; how could they just let it go? They were in G City, so they called home directly.

They asked their mother to send someone to pick them up. They really couldn't wait to go home.

Xiao Wu and the others will be back tonight. Zhang Hongmei specially instructed the kitchen to prepare all the children's favorite dishes.

Zhang Hongmei was much happier because her sons had all come back; at least she had a smile on her face.

"Bai Xue, did Gan Lu go to pick up Zhenye and the others?"

"Madam, Ganlu has been gone for ten minutes. Don't worry, she will definitely not keep the young masters waiting."

Seeing Zhang Hongmei so cheerful, Gu Chuanming and Zhang Xingguo secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

I really hope the children come back soon, so that things won't be like this at home.

In fact, Gu Chuanming and Zhang Xingguo didn't think it was a big deal at all, but they had lived with Hongmei for more than 20 years and knew that this girl was particularly sensitive.

They really couldn't understand why Hongmei was so angry. But none of them said anything.

Zhang Shouyi knew his sons were coming home today, so he returned at ten o'clock in the morning. He watched his wife bustling around, going to the kitchen at least five times. But now, his wife didn't seem to care about him. This was what he couldn't accept the most.

Zhang Shouyi squinted, sitting there pondering how to win his wife back. But she hadn't even glanced at him for days, which was a bad sign. He absolutely couldn't give up.
