Chapter 1400 Returning Home

Zhang Ruifeng looked at his frightened and confused wife, and his heart softened; she was still young.

"Remember this, from now on you are a member of the Zhang family."

Tang Feiyan nodded blankly. "Ruifeng, I won't change, but my parents definitely don't mean it that way."

"Yes, I believe you. Okay, let's go back. We're moving back to the compound."

Tang Feiyan stood up and placed her hand in Zhang Ruifeng's outstretched hand.

"Mom, we're going home now. Call me if you need anything."

Song Yiqi hadn't quite reacted yet, and nodded blankly as well.

The bodyguards were very efficient; they got everything ready in just a few minutes and helped the second young master open the door.

Tang Shixian stood up, took Song Yiqi's hand, and saw the young couple off before returning.

As soon as Song Yiqi entered the living room, she asked the housekeeper with a stern face, "What's going on?"

The nanny didn't know entirely either. "Madam, I'm not sure either. It's like the son-in-law got angry and called Feiyan out."

Tang Jianzhong sighed, "Granddaughter-in-law, Ruifeng got angry because your brother-in-law told them to move out and live on their own."

Song Yiqi's chest heaved violently, her hands clenched into fists, and her eyes turned red.

"Tang Shixian, I'm taking my two sons with me. Let's get a divorce. I've had enough of this kind of life. Don't worry, my daughter is married well, and my sons and I won't starve. I don't want a single penny of your Tang family's property."

Tang Shixian pulled his struggling wife down to sit. "Yiqi, don't you know what kind of person I am? How could I be this kind of person?"

The reason I didn't refuse was to dispel Grandpa's ambitions and to prevent any of them from thinking about relying on Fei Yan.

Ruifeng has become estranged from our family, which is exactly what I want to see. This way, Feiyan won't be put in a difficult position in the future, and we can help her be on the same side as her in-laws. They're all married daughters; let's just treat them like water spilled from a cup.

How could Song Yiqi not know her husband's temper? Tang Shixian can be described as an upright and old-fashioned person.

“Fine, then let’s pretend we don’t have a daughter,” Song Yiqi said, crying. Suddenly she stood up and glared at Tang’s eldest aunt. “From now on, don’t come to my house. If you don’t agree, Grandpa, then our whole family will move out. If Tang Shixian doesn’t agree, then the three of us will leave.”

I've had enough of you all. You're all afraid I'll ever have a good day. Don't be dissatisfied; I'm all grown up now.

Song Yiqi was saying this to Tang Jianzhong; it really wasn't going to end anytime soon.

Tang Jianzhong was furious when he heard his eldest grandson's words. It was incredibly embarrassing to have a junior so directly express his dirty thoughts.

But he still hasn't exploded. Song Yiqi is right, he has a good daughter. Even if he really leaves the Tang family, he won't have a hard life.

The Tang family's eldest aunt and her husband felt extremely wronged. They were genuinely trying to do what was best for their niece, so why were they getting no appreciation for their efforts? It was like a dog biting Li Dongbin – they didn't recognize a kind heart.

"Tang Shixian, are you just going to let this woman treat me like this? I'm only doing this for Fei Yan's own good. I want her to live a comfortable life. How can she have a carefree life under her mother-in-law's control?"

Song Yiqi scoffed, "I don't need you to be so kind to my daughter. Get out of here or I'll make a move."

Tang Jianzhong trembled with anger, but ultimately said nothing. His eldest grandson's family was now beyond his control; why couldn't they understand who he was doing this for? Wasn't he doing it for them?

Only the eldest grandson's family is somewhat successful; the rest are utterly hopeless.

Forget it, I'll just ignore everything. Let them do what they want. They don't understand my heart at all.

He stood up, leaning on his cane, and limped away.

Finally, Tang's eldest aunt and her husband left in a huff.

Tang Shixian sat down next to his wife and said, “This is good. From now on, Fei Yan can live her own life.”

Actually, this is quite good. My older sister and the others have no idea about Ruifeng's family situation; they only know that Feiyan's in-laws are wealthy, but have seven brothers. This is much better; they won't bother Feiyan and Ruifeng so often anymore.

Song Yiqi nodded. "Yeah, you're overthinking it."

Tang Shixian pushed up his glasses. "Don't talk to me about leaving me again. You haven't had a single good day in all these years. Now that we're finally about to see the light, we should cherish it."

"Yes, I'm sorry, I was really angry just now. I will never do that again. We still have two sons to raise."

Zhang Ruifeng held Tang Feiyan's hand and said, "Don't worry, I just don't like your great-grandfather and your other family members. I was just giving them a warning."

“Ruifeng, my parents would never be like that.”

"Yes, I understand. I can sense it."

"Second Young Master, where are we going back to?"

"Back to Wangfujing."

Tang Feiyan looked at her husband in surprise, and Zhang Ruifeng was delighted by her expression.

He put his arm around her shoulder and said, "Your brother and his family must be having dinner at your parents' house. I'm afraid you'll feel uncomfortable if we go back so early."

Tang Feiyan shook her head. "Ruifeng, let's go back to Mom. You should talk to her about this. I'm not embarrassed."

Zhang Ruifeng burst into laughter, "Okay, let's go home. You believe me? Mom will definitely scold me?"

Tang Feiyan just smiled. Of course she knew that her mother-in-law was a fair person, and she could sense that her mother-in-law would never favor her son in the future. Even if she was really wrong, her mother-in-law would definitely scold her son and would not make things difficult for her daughter-in-law.

Zhang Ruifeng was overjoyed, truly hoping that his wife would remain unchanged forever.

Their car was parked in the yard. Zhang Hongmei found it rather strange; although there wasn't a custom of having to eat at her in-laws' house in the evening, wouldn't it be customary to stay overnight?

"Why are you two back?"

"Mom, our family members are being unreasonable. Ruifeng got angry, so we came back."

Zhang Hongmei squinted at her second son, who was sitting there laughing.

"Are you asking for trouble? That's your wife's house."

"Mom, don't be angry, it's okay. I just don't like their family, it's alright."

"Zhang Ruifeng, explain yourself clearly. You and your in-laws have a conflict. What is Fei Yan supposed to do?"

Zhang Ruifeng touched his nose and recounted the conversation that took place in the living room earlier that day in detail.

Tang Feiyan blushed and lowered her head, feeling truly ashamed.

"Mom, my father-in-law and mother-in-law definitely didn't mean that. I can tell."

I guess I did this to please my father-in-law; when I was throwing a tantrum, I saw him smile.

"You're being too clever for your own good. Zhang Ruifeng will go to Xiao Li tonight to receive his punishment."
