Chapter 612 Holiday

"You're back? You've sold them all? That's pretty good."

"Thank you, Aunt Chen. We wouldn't have been able to finish so smoothly without your help. Here's the bucket. I'm going inside to talk to Aunt Wang."

"Go on, you haven't eaten yet, have you? There are still steamed buns at home."

"Okay, I'll come over to eat in a bit. You go and rest."

Where are the two of them?

"She's in the back." After saying that, Dong Yuping went to the living room. Not finding Wang Xinyi, she stood in front of her door and gently knocked.

"Wait a moment, I'll be right out." Wang Xinyi's voice came from inside the house.

"You're back! Have you eaten yet? Hurry up and eat first."

Upon hearing Wang Xinyi's words, Dong Yuping couldn't help but tear up. At that moment, Wang Mingxia and Jiang Mingyan also entered the living room.

"What's wrong? Did you suffer some injustice?" Wang Xinyi took Dong Yuping's hand and sat her down on the sofa.

Dong Yuping sniffed. "It's okay, Aunt Wang. Everything is going smoothly. It's just that I'm not going to work there anymore. I'd rather go back to work at the textile factory with them. The less work I do, the less money I'll get."

After saying that, he took out the cloth bag, which was full of money, and placed it on the coffee table.

Then he looked up at the two people who came in. "This is the money for the steamed buns we bought today. We made a total of 196. One was broken up to serve as a model. They were three for one yuan, so that's 65 yuan. It's all here. The cost was split equally among the three of us, so we'll split this money equally too. The last two yuan is for Aunt Wang to put in the communal account. After all, we used their oil, seasonings, and fire." He then ignored the two people, counted out his own 21 yuan, put it in his pocket, took out two yuan and handed it to Wang Xinyi, then stood up and went to the kitchen.

The two women sat down next to Wang Xinyi. Jiang Mingyan also counted out twenty-one yuan and put it in her pocket.

Wang Xinyi knew the three of them were having a disagreement, but she didn't like the two of them either, so she didn't ask.

"There are still steamed buns in the kitchen. You can eat them if you're hungry. But there are no side dishes. Why don't you cook something yourselves? Aunt Chen is tired too."

The two nodded. Dong Yuping had gone into the kitchen to prepare food. There was no rush; they could just wait for the food to be ready.

"You two stay here, I'm going to get some sleep," Wang Xinyi said before returning to her room.

The two women sat in the living room for a while before Dong Yuping came out. However, she ignored them and instead sat on the sofa, picking up the newspaper to read.

"Dong Yuping, what's with your attitude?" Jiang Mingyan snapped, yelling angrily at her.

"What is my attitude? I've seen through both of you. I'm going to apply for a different dorm when I go to school. It'll be much more comfortable than being with you two."

After saying that, he continued reading his newspaper without even glancing at them.

"Is it because of selling steamed buns just now? I apologize. I really had never experienced this before, so I was stunned. I won't do it again. How about we each sell steamed buns for a day?" Wang Mingxia decided to say something conciliatory, otherwise there really wouldn't be any other way. In just this short time today, they each earned eight yuan. If they did this for half a month, they could earn more than a hundred yuan.

Dong Yuping shook her head. "No, you two do it yourselves. I'll go work as a temporary worker."

Wang Mingxia patiently explained, "How much can a temporary worker earn in a day? We've already split eight yuan each in such a short time, and it's not even hard work."

Dong Yuping shook her head again, saying that even if she made more money, she wouldn't do it anymore, and she didn't want to get involved with the two of them anymore.

"Dong Yuping, you really don't know what's good for you. We can handle Wang Mingxia ourselves, why bother with her?"

"Let's go eat, I'm hungry."

Only after the two left did Dong Yuping reveal a sarcastic smile; they were just testing everyone's patience.

Even if living alone is a bit dangerous, as long as I'm careful and don't go out, there won't be any problems. It's still better than getting involved with them.

The two entered the kitchen. There was nothing on the table, but there were three steamed buns in the pot and a bowl of pickled vegetables on the cupboard.

There was no other way; they were just too hungry, so the two of them had to share the steamed buns and eat them with pickled vegetables.

"Really, why did you only cook a little more food?" Jiang Mingyan grumbled unhappily, just as Shen Yunfang came in and overheard everything.

The two were now in an awkward situation. Jiang Mingyan quickly explained, "Aunt Shen, I didn't mean that. I just said it casually."

Shen Yunfang shook her head. These two are really ungrateful wretches; they can't be tamed.

They put the lid back on the pot. Then they put the bowl of pickled vegetables back in the cupboard. "You should all go out."

Jiang Mingyan was frightened. If Zhang Hongmei found out, she might not be able to come here again.

She gave Wang Mingxia a pleading look. The other woman glared at her and left.

"Aunt Chen, could you please not tell Zhang Hongmei?"

Shen Yunfang shook her head without saying a word. Jiang Mingyan felt uneasy, wondering what Shen Yunfang meant by shaking her head. Why couldn't she control her temper?

Seeing that no one was paying attention to her, she had no choice but to leave the kitchen. There she saw Zeng Zhongkang standing there; this was truly the end for her.

She sat dejectedly on the sofa. Wang Mingxia gritted her teeth in anger. "Look what you've done! Now we can't even use the kitchen."

"I didn't mean it; I just made a casual complaint and didn't mean anything by it."

“What’s the use of telling me this? You’ve ruined me. I’m moving out of the dorm with Dong Yuping.”

Jiang Mingyan sat there, tears streaming down her face. Shen Yunfang came out and said, "Girl, you shouldn't cry at other people's houses. It's really not good."

"Fine, if you all dislike me, then I'll leave." He was about to leave when he suddenly remembered what happened last time, so he sat back down.

No one in the living room paid any attention to her. This made Jiang Mingyan very embarrassed, but she really didn't dare to leave, so she could only sit there with her head down.

Of the three girls, only Dong Yuping had a newspaper; the other two were practically bursting with anxiety. But they couldn't leave; they had to wait for Zhang Hongmei to return. After all, this was her home, and they hoped Zhang Hongmei wouldn't go too far.

Zeng Zhongkang went upstairs and, seeing the two highly focused individuals, joined in the assembly work. "So this is how ugly women can be," he thought. "Are they all like this? But I've never seen Zhang Hongmei like that before. People are different, aren't they?"

Meanwhile, Zhang Hongmei had already finished this year's accounts and was about to start working on last year's. It's truly baffling how someone like Zhao Tiancheng could make such a mistake in the books.

Is Zhao Haozheng like that too? I'll have to remind him in the future; after all, it's not just your company, you can't just know it in your heart. Too many shareholders mean more problems; it's best to be cautious.
