"Honey, please go. I'm really worried. I'm scared."
"Didn't I just promise you? Don't worry, I'm awake now, let's go."
Zhang Hongmei left the space and looked around; it was already 2 PM.
I hurried downstairs and ran right up to Zhao Tiancheng and his wife who were on their way to the hospital.
"Aunt Wang, let me go with you. It'll be easier for me to be there."
"It's alright, you're all too nervous, there's no need for that. You all go about your business, your Uncle Zhao can come with me."
Finally, Zhao Tiancheng drove Wang Xinyi to the hospital, and Zeng Zhongkang drove Zhang Hongmei to the bookstore.
The two ended up buying three sets of second-year textbooks, and after browsing around some more, they went straight home.
After they got home, Wang Xinyi and the others also returned. "I told you you guys were too nervous! The doctor said I'm fine, so you can all relax."
Zhang Hongmei was finally relieved. "That's good. Aunt Wang, the four of us will be very busy these days. We want to go directly from sophomore to junior next semester. So we have to catch up on the schedule, which may mean we'll neglect you a bit. So please just let us know if you need anything."
"Are you sure about this?"
Zhang Hongmei shook her head, "Not yet. Mr. Beth will find the president of B University in the next few days. I think it should be close. Even if it doesn't work out, it's like we've previewed the material, which is still good."
Wang Xinyi smiled and said, "Look how magnanimous our Red Plum is. That's how it should be. Don't force things. That's the right mindset."
"Alright, I don't need you guys for now. Your Uncle Zhao is here. You all just focus on your books."
After the four of them divided the books, they resumed their studies just like when they first arrived. However, Zhang Hongmei was busier than the others, visiting the research group every day. And it must be said, these individuals had made progress; at least they were able to design simple brick-laying patterns.
Wyatt knew their current situation and didn't look for Zhang Hongmei again, because there were still four months until the exam. It sounded like a long time, but completing a year's worth of courses in four months was no easy task.
However, Zhang Hongmei still managed to design a level-based game that could be played by multiple people or by one person, which greatly impressed and delighted Wyatt.
"Wyatt, you could find someone to research a game console. If you succeed, I'm thinking of designing a boxing game."
Game consoles cost much less than computers, you should give it a try!
"You understand me. I'll find someone to research it. This should be much simpler than computers. You can design this game when you have time."
The two ended their conversation very briefly and went back to their own business. Now I feel like every minute should be used as an hour.
Zhang Hongmei had never actually played those kinds of boxing games before. During dinner that night, she asked the four boys about it, and it was Zeng Zhongkang who finally gave her some inspiration.
"Zeng Zhongkang, you're going to design this game with me. Do you have enough time?"
There are some things I really don't understand, and I'm thinking I'll need to find someone who knows about boxing. We need to figure out what's going on, right?
"Hongmei, I really don't have enough time. I'm finding it a bit difficult right now, and there are many things I don't understand. I'll need you to explain them to me, so you should design the game yourself."
Zeng Zhongkang didn't feel embarrassed at all. He admitted he wasn't good at it and wasn't ashamed to ask the young woman for help. He had been taught computer skills by her step by step since he arrived here. So, he truly wasn't ashamed to ask questions.
“Hongmei, me too, it’s brought up a lot of issues.”
“Me too,” Cai Peilin added.
"Okay, then we'll do one subject a day, using every available moment, including lunchtime. But you can't let your second-year courses interfere with your first-year courses. It would be too embarrassing if you failed the exams."
All three nodded. From then on, Zeng Zhongkang arranged the courses, one subject per day. Zhang Hongmei was responsible for answering their questions. If they didn't understand something, the four of them decided to discuss it together. So, the scene of frantic studying reappeared in the cafeteria.
Zhang Hongmei still picks Annie up every Friday, but the two are almost always together when they're sleeping; otherwise, Annie spends most of her time with Zhao Haozheng and Miao Xinyue. Even so, Annie doesn't complain and is very supportive of her mother.
I wish I could have such a thoughtful child; she's so considerate. And when I take her to school on Mondays, Annie tries her best not to take up too much of my time.
She was busy, and Carlos and Wyatt were also incredibly busy. On Monday night, when the three of them met at the research group meeting, Zhang Hongmei saw the two of them and felt a little regretful: "Did I spread myself too thin?"
Wyatt Roy rolled his eyes at Zhang Hongmei. "You're only involved in the trading company, research group, toy company, and game company. We still have to work on our family business. Don't tell me you're tired; I'm currently overseeing the production of combine harvesters."
"Zhang Hongmei, this month, you can get 100,000 from this. Tell me, how many units do you think that would need to produce?"
Zhang Hongmei rolled her eyes at Wyattroy. "I get 100,000. Then you guys get 2 million. You'd be willing to work even if it's exhausting. Stop whining to me."
Wyatt Roy laughed heartily, "Zhang Hongmei is still the same old Zhang Hongmei, never one to suffer a loss. Alright, the family meeting decided that you'll get a 50,000 yuan bonus this month, is that acceptable?"
"Of course, I'm really short on money right now. The four of us spent 100,000 yuan just to qualify for the junior year exam. If we don't pass, all that money will be wasted."
"Who told you to be in such a hurry to go back? I give you so much cash every month, and you're telling me you're short of money?" Wyatt gave her a disdainful look.
"Hmph, I need to pay 40,000 for the farm and ranch this month. Money is needed everywhere."
Carlos watched the two bickering with a smile, feeling as if he were much older than them, with a completely different mindset.
The truth is, they know that the two of them are just trying to relieve each other's stress.
“Zhang Hongmei, shall I find you a housekeeper?” Carlos suddenly blurted out.
"No, these investments are enough for me. I won't make any more moves in the future. Also, I'm really not used to having people around me."
"You must be very tired doing this."
"It's alright, I can accept it. I just can't stand Wyatt's smug attitude."
"Hey, watch your mouth! When did I ever look smug? I was incredibly smug, okay? Carlos is practically dying of jealousy right now, but there's nothing he can do, I'm just that powerful!"
