Chapter 800 Children

"You brat, how long has it been since you last saw me that you're ignoring me?"

The little guy drooled and gave a fawning smile.

"Hongmei, whose traits does this child take after? Is Haozheng like this?"

"Hehe, Uncle Zhao said it's the same, and Ningning is even better at pleasing people than Zhao Haozheng."

"Mom, I'm going to get Ningning's gift." She said and ran upstairs.

"Hongmei, how about we have dinner at home tonight?"

"Sure, I'll spend more time with you, Elizabeth. How are you getting used to it?"

Actually, she had been watching Ningning the whole time, her eyes overflowing with tenderness. "Hongmei, I'm very well, thank you for your concern."

"Mom, whose child is this?"

“My sister’s child is the Mrs. Zhao I met at the last banquet.”

"Oh, I remember now. Mom, this child is so cute."

"Yeah, that kid's really clever. Elizabeth, do you want to give him a hug?"

"May I?"

"How about Ningning goes to let Madam hold him?" Zhang Hongmei suggested with a smile.

The little guy was also looking at Elizabeth, and after hearing Zhang Hongmei's words, he reached out his hand.

Anne had the maid bring down a lot of toys.

When Ningning saw Anne, he immediately stopped staying in Elizabeth's arms. There was nothing Zhang Hongmei could do but take him. "Godmother, I'll take him to the bathroom first."

When they got back, Annie played with Ningning's toys on the sofa while the others chatted.

Zeng Zhongkang sat to the side, not feeling embarrassed at all.

Beth and his son came back together, and Beth was very happy to see Ningning.

It's no exaggeration to say that this kid is incredibly shrewd.

Beth reached out her hand. The little guy put down his toy and immediately ran into Beth's arms.

Huang Meihua smiled and tapped his little nose. "Do you even know who's more important? I wanted to hug you, but you wouldn't let me. Why did you agree to hug him?"

Zhang Hongmei also found it very funny.

Carlos and Zeng Zhongkang sat together. Looking at Zhang Hongmei's radiant smile, Carlos felt a pang of heartache, but he didn't show it.

Elizabeth very considerately poured tea for the father and son. Then she sat down next to Carlos.

Carlos felt very uncomfortable, but since she was his wife, he endured it.

After dinner, Zhang Hongmei and her group of four left.

Huang Meihua sighed, "Are we all the only ones left in the family again?"

Elizabeth had always lived under her stepmother's care, so she was particularly sensitive. Upon hearing Huang Meihua's words, she quietly placed her hand on her stomach, hoping that she could also give birth as soon as possible.

Thinking about Carlos's passion every night, I couldn't help but blush.

When the four arrived home, Zhao Tiancheng came out to greet them. At that moment, Zhao Haozheng also drove back.

Ningning had reached out for her father to hug her, but when she saw her brother, she immediately withdrew her hand and struggled towards Zhao Hao.

Zhao Tiancheng felt hurt. How could this be? He could accept that he wasn't as good as Zhang Hongmei, but to be even worse than his own son was truly disheartening. Zhao Haozheng tossed the briefcase to Zeng Zhongkang and took his younger brother. He lifted him up high, making the little guy giggle; the sleepiness he'd cultivated in the car was long gone. He excitedly interacted with Zhao Haozheng.

"Alright, you guys hurry up and go inside. It's getting late, Ningning should be sleeping."

Annie obediently let Zhang Hongmei hold her hand, while Zeng Zhongkang took charge of moving things. Wang Xinyi wanted to take Ningning's things, but the child clung to Zhao Haozheng's neck and wouldn't let go. There was really no way to stop her.

Miao Xinyue and the others haven't come back yet. The three of them always eat together, so Zhao Haozheng kept lifting the little guy up high. His silvery laughter could be heard all over the yard.

Zhao Tiancheng sat down next to his wife, sulking. "That brat just won't come with me."

Wang Xinyi just smiled and ignored Zhao Tiancheng completely.

Seeing that his wife didn't support him, he had no choice but to go to his two sons, but they were in the middle of something and ignored him.

Now Zhao Tiancheng truly felt hurt. That pitiful expression—now he finally knew who Ningning got that look from.

Wang Xinyi truly had no other choice; at her age, how could she still be like this?

When Miao Xinyue and the others returned, Wang Xinyi took her son and gave him a bath. The boy was so sleepy that he could barely keep his eyes open.

The couple lay in bed that night. Zhao Tiancheng said smugly, "Wife, let's have another daughter. These two brats are too uncooperative."

Wang Xinyi looked at him in surprise. "Are you crazy? I'm already tired of Ningning all by myself."

Zhao Tiancheng also realized that he and his wife were both over fifty years old, and he sighed deeply. "I've been provoked." He glanced at his youngest son with resentment, then lay down with his wife in his arms.

Zhang Hongmei chatted with Zhang Shouyi for a while, and then read the letters from Song Zigan and Liu Jingze.

Liu Jingze is back at school now, but he still goes to Q City every week. Zhang Shouyi specially provided him with a car, though he no longer needs to translate, so he's extremely busy. He's about to be a senior, and he can't afford to neglect his studies.

He simply introduced his own situation and the news that the old lady was in good health.

As for Song Zigan, he's thriving at school. He's already the deputy editor-in-chief of the student council's academic newspaper, and Hao Dan is taking special care of him.

What's most remarkable is that he would have dinner with Gu Chuanming every month. This is probably why Zhang Shouyi was willing to give him his letter.

Zhang Hongmei did not reply; she was content with knowing their situation.

After breakfast on Saturday, Zhang Hongmei read a book with Annie for a while. Then, while Ningning was sleeping, the three of them secretly slipped out to the amusement park, and they would also eat out today.

When they returned in the afternoon, before they even entered the house, they heard Ningning crying. Zhang Hongmei thought to herself, "They're going to have to lift the roof."

Annie hurriedly grabbed the gift for Ningning and ran into the house.

Zeng Zhongkang was used to seeing Annie as well-behaved and sensible, but Ning Ningna was simply a devil.

Zhang Hongmei smiled as she looked at Zeng Zhongkang, whose face was expressionless. "Actually, a normal child should be like Ningning. Annie is too sensible."

Upon entering the house, they saw that Ningning's eyes were still red, but she had a smile on her face. When the little girl saw Zhang Hongmei come in, she turned her head away and ignored her.

Wang Xinyi laughed. "Oh! Hongmei, look, Ningning doesn't even welcome you. You'd better leave, or you'll start crying again."

"Yeah, they're ignoring me. I'll go back inside and not upset Ningning here." With that, she turned around and started to leave.

The little one panicked. He cried out a few times, but Zhang Hongmei still didn't turn around. So he started wailing again.
