Chapter 1290 Entering

After deciding where the children would go, Zhang Shouyi held his wife tightly and wouldn't let go.

"Hongmei, I don't know how I would get by without you."

Zhang Hongmei had no energy to answer him right now, but she felt extremely satisfied.

The next morning at breakfast, Zhang Hongmei told Ping An about Zhang Shouyi's decision.

"Ping An, why don't you go up the mountain? Chong Yu is there."

"Auntie, let's discuss it." Actually, Ping An didn't want to go. What's so great about the mountain? It's just training anyway.

Anne and Daniel had no objections; it was about time for them to go home anyway. Uncle Wyatt said yesterday that they could only stay for another two or three days.

Zhenye knew that the four of them were going to the army, but when he heard Ping An's words this morning, he smiled to himself. Good lad, he's got ideas now, he's grown up.

After the eleven of them finished eating, they set off together.

Ping An, standing next to Zhang Weiyu, asked, "Third Brother, is there any way to get Uncle to agree to let us go back to Liujiatun?"

“Ping An, Third Brother, there’s nothing I can do. Only Mom can change Dad’s decision.”

Cheng Ping'an frowned deeply. "Third Brother, this is really difficult. Honestly, we still thought we could go back."

Zhang Weiyu shrugged. "There's nothing I can do to help." But in his heart, he was thinking, "We all have to study, and you can't escape either."

Ping An sighed, "Sister, let's pool our money and treat you, Daniel, and the other four brothers to a meal. You can choose the place."

Zhang Zhenye raised an eyebrow. These guys have improved a lot since they started school; their social skills are at least quite evident.

Annie laughed, "Ping An, where did you get the money?"

"Sister, it's all money we've saved up. I don't know about the others, but my money comes from saving my notebooks and the pocket money my family gives me."

"Hehe, Ping An is really good. How about you guys?"

Pengfei, who was the oldest besides Annie, smiled憨厚ly and said, "That's how I saved my money. I also pick up scraps and sell them when I see them."

"Brother Pengfei, where did you put the recyclables you collected? I didn't see them at home," Li Qihong asked, puzzled.

“I have a good relationship with the old man who collects recyclables. I just put the recyclables I collect there, and he helps me save them up. Then he pays me when I have enough.”

All four of them, including Zhenye, were somewhat moved by Pengfei's actions.

The four of them had never suffered from financial worries, and most importantly, they rarely had the opportunity to spend money. Yet, they had never considered earning money themselves at this time.

Because of Liu Jingsong's matter, they were somewhat distant from Pengfei and not as close as Ping An and the others.

However, through this experience, they learned about Pengfei's character, and all four of them developed a liking for him.

Such a down-to-earth person is definitely not like Liu Jingsong. Moreover, Zhang Zhenye has heard Liu Pengfei's true feelings, and he is truly a person who is consistent in word and deed.

Anne was quite moved; she was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and had never lacked money.

But Liu Pengfei's actions really touched her. In Annie's mind, collecting recyclables should be something shameful, and the money should be very little, but he was willing to spend it to treat her and her brother to a meal, which made all the difference. It showed that he considered them his closest family.

"Thank you, Pengfei. I want to eat fried rice cakes, xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), and wontons."

Liu Pengfei smiled憨厚ly, "Sister, you don't need to save money for us, let's go eat something delicious."

"No, I just want to eat these. I'm tired of eating at restaurants every day. Shall we go get some pancakes?" Annie had already set her sights on the pancake stall next to the station.

No one else had any objections, so the eleven of them started a roadside stall, and the food was really quite good.

When they returned that evening, the money the five of them had pooled together was far from all spent. So they decided to go to the market the next day.

Annie was quite curious about the big market.

When Zhang Hongmei learned of their decision, she gave them some worried advice. "It's already December, and there will be a lot of people going to the market, so you must first protect yourselves and also be careful not to have your belongings stolen."

"Mom, we know. Look, everyone here knows kung fu, so there won't be any problems."

Zhang Hongmei smiled and nodded. "I agree to let you go have fun."

The market was located in the suburbs, so the next morning, eleven people took the first bus.

After seeing them off, Zhang Hongmei cuddled the three little ones and lay down on the bed. She watched the three of them fidgeting with their hands and feet.

"Your older brothers have all grown up, when will you grow up?"

At noon, none of the eleven had returned. Since they were being protected by bodyguards, Zhang Hongmei wasn't worried. Wyatt returned in the afternoon.

"Hongmei, we're going back tomorrow. Zhao Haozheng is here."

"Okay, call me if you need anything. Maybe we can still see each other even if we're thousands of miles apart in the future."

Wyatt paused for a moment. "You mean using a computer, the internet?"

Zhang Hongmei nodded. "That's right, you should send someone to investigate this as soon as possible."

Wyatt smiled and nodded. "Definitely, Red Plum. I'll try to come every year from now on. Although I can't be there for the children as they grow up, I want them to remember me."

"Well, as long as you have time, that's fine. Wyatt, stop wasting your life. At your age, it's time to settle down. To be honest, you finally inherited the Roy family business, are you going to just hand it over to someone else?"

Wyatt smiled. "I know, I'll keep it in mind. You don't need to worry about me. I'm an adult now, I know what I'm doing."

In the afternoon, Wyatt spent time with the three children, although they mostly slept.

He even asked Zhang Hongmei to find someone to take photos of them. Wyatt particularly liked the photo of him lying with his three children.

When Annie and the others returned and learned that they would be leaving tomorrow, they were definitely reluctant to part, but they had been away for almost two months and were content.

Zhang Shouyi returned early and specially invited chefs specializing in Sichuan and Cantonese cuisine, who truly put all their skills into preparing a large table of specialty dishes.

"Godfather, I still prefer Sichuan cuisine." Annie kept drinking water because of the spiciness, but she didn't stop eating.

"Annie, eat less spicy food. Eating too much spicy food will make you feel hot and cause pimples on your face."

Anne reluctantly put down her chopsticks; she still cared most about her face.

After dinner, Zhang Shouyi called Annie and her brother to his study and gave Daniel some instructions. Finally, he told Annie not to find a boyfriend too early, and that her choice of boyfriend had to be approved by her grandmother.
