Chapter 703 Daily Life

After the meal, everyone went about their own business. As long as Zhang Hongmei gave the instructions, she didn't need to worry about anything else.

Having spent the entire morning next door, the research team members seem to have suddenly had a breakthrough. They've come up with a whack-a-mole game, which Zhang Hongmei asked Wyatt to arrange for it to be played in the mall. While the response wasn't as good as the arcade game, it was still very popular.

Zhang Hongmei's current task for them is to research a level-based children's game, with no restrictions on the subject matter.

Zhang Hongmei spent the entire morning thinking about games for adult game consoles.

I was completely out of ideas in the afternoon and felt like I'd run out of inspiration. So I simply gave up on brainstorming.

I feel a bit depressed. Now I understand a little better what it's like to be a person with depression. It's truly unbearable.

Finally, I simply went home. I logged into my online space and decided to do nothing but wander around; it had been a very long time since I'd updated it. My mood was completely different now.

Suddenly I felt a little lonely, a loneliness that welled up from the bottom of my heart.

I drank a glass of water and lay down on the bed to sleep.

When I woke up, I felt completely refreshed. It was as if the person I was before I fell asleep wasn't her at all.

My main job right now is to study. What's the point of thinking too much? Do I really think I'm omnipotent?

Everything is going smoothly, and you're getting carried away. At this point, calming down is the best thing to do.

After calming down, I felt that everything was fine, and I resumed studying with the three of them.

To be honest, I've read the books from my sophomore year many times, but I've never verified them.

Zhang Hongmei found her mentor, Steve James.

"Zhang Hongmei, what do you want?" Looking at this bright and intelligent little girl, he unconsciously lowered his voice.

"Mr. James, could you help the four of us apply to take the exam together with the second-year students?"

"I'll go ask the principal. Don't worry, I'll let you know if I find out."

Zhang Hongmei put the matter aside, because unlike in China, there are countless tests here, big and small, and you have to wait for an opportunity.

I told the three of them about my request and that of the counselor, and they all agreed.

That's true. Even though I think I understand everything, I still feel uneasy until I've actually tested it.

A week later, Steve James told Zhang Hongmei, "The principal has agreed to your request. There will be an exam this Thursday, and you can take it. Your papers will also be graded together."

The four of them were delighted. No matter what, good or bad, they could accept it. This opportunity was a test for them.

They spent the entire day of Thursday taking exams in the sophomore classrooms. Furthermore, the professors and counselors paid special attention to them.

After handing in her paper, Zhang Hongmei felt a bit more confident. She thought she should be able to pass, and the other three seemed quite calm as well. That was good.

After that, the four of them put the matter aside and went to the bookstore to buy books for their third year of university, just to get a sneak peek. They always felt that they were not ideal in any way.

When they arrived at school on Monday, Steve James excitedly informed Zhang Hongmei, "The four of you have excellent grades, and you've almost all received full marks in the practical courses."

Zhang Hongmei was finally relieved. There was only a month left until her sophomore year final exams; she was confident she would pass.

Zhang Hongmei told them the good news during lunch, but the three of them had also been informed by their counselors.

“Hongmei, our counselor said that your grades are among the top in the current sophomores.”

"Well, actually I thought it was pretty good after I answered it."

When the four of them got home that evening, they told Wang Xinyi the good news.

The dinner table was especially lavish that evening, which was also a way of celebrating for them.

Zhao Hao was muttering, "When you all go back to school, you'll be juniors, but I'll still be a junior. It makes me really resentful."

Miao Xinyue slammed her hand on the table. "What's there to be upset about? Zhao Yuetong and I are their seniors! We're in the same year now, but in a month we'll be their juniors. Does that mean we're at peace?"

Zhao Yuetong looked at the two of them helplessly, "Neither of you has put in any effort. Do you expect something for nothing? Dream on!"

"You two are rubbing salt into my wounds!"

Zhang Hongmei found the trio's performance very amusing. She just watched with a smile, not saying a word, while the other three kept their heads down and ate, ignoring them completely.

After dinner, Zhao Hao followed Zhang Hongmei into the study to settle the bills for the month. As for the money, Wyattroy was responsible for delivering it.

"Hongmei, you're a junior now, don't you think Wyatt feels as embarrassed as I do?"

Zhang Hongmei rolled her eyes at Zhao Haozheng. "How would I know? I've rarely seen him at school these past few months. He's not even attending school anymore, so what's the point of saving face?"

"Hehe, I can't argue with you. I'll go call him right now and tell him the good news."

"Boring, childish."

Zhao Hao thought to himself, "Say whatever you want. I'm definitely going to provoke Wyattroy today."

He dialed the number and said, "Wyatt, I have good news for you. Zhang Hongmei and the other three students took their sophomore exams and their results were excellent. So they will most likely be juniors when the semester starts."

The person on the other end of the phone was grinding their teeth in anger. Was this even worth calling about? "Zhao Haozheng, aren't you having too much free time?"

"How could that be? I'm taking the time to share my joy with you. As the boss, how can you think of your employee like that?"

"Alright, stop it. Isn't it just that you're unhappy and that's why you're telling me?"

"No, that's not true! You've misunderstood my good intentions. Since you don't appreciate it, I have to go to work now. I have to go on a business trip this week. Bye-bye."

Zhao Hao put down the phone with a smile, feeling much better. It's something you should share with others.

Wang Xinyi came out with her pregnant belly. Seeing Zhao Haozheng's smile, she wondered if he was in love. Why was he smiling so happily? She thought she should ask Brother Zhao later; it was probably better for her father to ask about these things.

When Zhao Hao was about to go to sleep after taking a shower, Zhao Tiancheng asked him if he was in a relationship.

"Dad, how could I have time for dating? Besides, with Zhang Hongmei by my side, who else could I possibly be interested in?"

"Son. You haven't given up yet?"

"I gave up a long time ago. It's just that I'm tired of the same old thing, and I don't find anyone else attractive. Besides, I'm still young, and I want to find a Chinese wife. But the girls here aren't good enough for me. I don't like them."

Hehe, when I have the chance to go back to China, I'll find someone I like.
