Chapter 1096 Liu Qiang

Zhang Shouyi kissed her forehead.

“Brother Zhang, I’d like to take the kids back for the New Year so our whole family can go to Liujiatun to visit the old lady.”

"Sure, whatever you want. I'll do as you say, and we'll stay for a few days."

"Yes. Our whole family will go." Zhang Hongmei felt that Zhang Shouyi was incredibly good to her.

The next day at noon, Zhang Hongmei rushed back, saying, "Don't worry, she's not back yet."

Seeing Zhang Hongmei's anxious expression, Gu Chuanming gave her a helpless glare.

"Grandpa, I wonder who Liu Qiang looks like? I hope he looks like Su Chen. Er Lengzi's appearance is really too ordinary."

“You’re overthinking it. If a boy is too handsome, he won’t want to grow up. Shouyi hated his appearance for a while,” Zhang Xingguo said with a smile, revealing Zhang Shouyi’s secret.

“Dad, I’ve seen Brother Zhang’s photos. Back then, I thought he was just a chuunibyou (a person with delusions of grandeur).

"Hehe, he always had a gloomy face back then. I wasn't around, and his grandfather and uncles ignored him and didn't care about him, so for a while he didn't speak."

Zhang Hongmei was very interested and stared excitedly at Zhang Xingguo, waiting for him to continue gossiping.

"Once I came back to give a report and thought I would take him out to eat, but he gave me a disdainful look and said he would not go no matter what."

I went to his homeroom teacher to find out about his situation, but to my surprise, the teacher cried when she saw me.

Shouyi didn't even respond to the teachers at school. That's when I started to feel scared. When I got home, I thought maybe I should bring him with me. After all, he's smart and can study by himself.

But he wouldn't come with me. Things improved a little afterward, but he was still quiet. At least he could answer one out of three questions, even if it was just a few words.

Zhang Hongmei probably knew that he hadn't been reborn yet at that time.

"Grandpa, Dad, are you going for a nap?"

"Go ahead, you should go and rest for a while too."

Zhang Hongmei was quite excited and genuinely welcomed Liu Qiang's arrival.

The car didn't drive into the yard until 3 p.m.

Zhang Hongmei came out of the study and saw the dark-skinned baby in Liu Xu's arms, and smiled.

"Liu Qiang, welcome to your aunt's house!"

Liu Qiang, nestled in Liu Xu's arms, looked at Zhang Hongmei curiously and suddenly reached out, wanting her to hug him.

Zhang Hongmei smiled and accepted Liu Qiang's hand.

"aunt!"

"Yes, I am your aunt. Come on, let me take you to take a bath and have some food, okay?"

Auntie has prepared new clothes for you, lots of delicious food, and many more toys.

The little guy grinned and nodded emphatically.

Zhang Hongmei didn't use a nanny; she bathed Liu Qiang and changed his clothes, feeling that the clothes she had bought fit him quite well.

Afterwards, I carried him into the dining room, where the nanny prepared steamed egg custard, fried chicken, fried meatballs, and shrimp—all dishes that children used to love.

The little guy really took after his dad, wolfing down his food. "Liu Qiang, slow down, you eat by yourself, all of this is yours."

The little guy ate the shrimp that Zhang Hongmei had peeled, exclaiming, "Auntie, it's delicious!"

"I'll feed you this every day from now on. It's much, much better than what you get at your parents' place."

"Yes, that's what Dad said too."

Zhang Hongmei chuckled; this might actually be what Er Lengzi said.

Looking at Liu Qiang, who looked exactly like Er Lengzi, Zhang Hongmei laughed even harder. This was a miniature version of Er Lengzi.

After finishing his meal, Liu Qiang adorably rubbed his belly.

"Are you full?"

"Mmm, I'm full, Auntie, it was delicious."

"Come on, Auntie will take you to the living room, where you can play with your toys."

Zhang Hongmei specially found a small child's tricycle. "Liu Qiang, you can learn to ride this. Come on, Auntie will teach you."

Liu Qiang watched as the toy car circled around once, and without Zhang Hongmei carrying him, he climbed on by himself, his little feet automatically resting on the footrests.

"Yes, that's it. You can try it. Yes, that's it. Liu Qiang, you're so smart."

After dinner, Zhang Hongmei was thinking of letting him move around a bit, but she didn't expect the little guy to be so clever; he simply walked around the living room.

The children's cheerful laughter truly made Zhang Hongmei happy. She didn't want to think about anything else; all she could see was Liu Qiang.

After about half an hour, Liu Qiang gradually slowed down.

Are you tired?

Liu Qiang jumped out of the car and ran to Zhang Hongmei's side. "Auntie, shall we go outside and play?"

It turns out he was complaining that the living room was too small. Er Lengzi's description of his son was quite accurate: a hairless monkey.

"Okay, but you need to drink a glass of milk first, so you can grow up quickly."

Liu Qiang took the glass of milk, gulped it down in a few mouthfuls, and handed it to Zhang Hongmei.

"Let's go play outside." Zhang Hongmei held Liu Qiang's hand, while the child pulled the toy car with his other hand.

Watching Liu Qiang happily riding his bike around in the yard, Gu Chuanming and Zhang Xingguo both smiled.

"Grandpa, Dad, this child is too naughty."

“Being naughty is good; that's what children should be like.”

Liu Qiang rode his bicycle around to face them.

"This is my great-grandfather, and this is my grandfather."

The little guy nimbly jumped off the car, stood on the ground, and looked up at the two elderly people, saying, "Great-Grandpa, Grandpa, hello."

"Good, good, good, this is a good prospect. Come on, Grandpa will take you to play on the slide." This slide was made by Gu Chuanming for a few children, but now there are no children playing on it, so it's just in time for this kid to come over.

Liu Qiang looked at Zhang Hongmei, as if asking if it was possible.

"Liu Qiang, you can go play with your great-grandfather and grandfather. Your aunt will wait for you here."

Liu Qiang happily ran to Gu Chuanming's side and took his hand.

Gu Chuanming and Zhang Xingguo burst into laughter, saying, "This is the child of a monkey!"

Zhang Hongmei returned to the living room, and Liu Xu came over to report on Liu Qiang's situation along the way.

"Madam, the child didn't cry at all. He ate whatever we gave him along the way and didn't make a fuss."

"So obedient?"

"Yes, we couldn't stand it, so we bought him all sorts of delicious food along the way, and even a roly-poly toy. But he was too destructive. The roly-poly toy broke after only two days. After that, he would play with his slingshot or look out the window."

"Okay, I understand. Put his luggage in the prepared room and go to rest."

He picked up the phone and dialed. "Brother Er Lengzi, Liu Qiang has arrived. Don't worry, that kid is really good. He didn't make a fuss the whole way."

"That's right, I told him not to cry or make a fuss, or he wouldn't get any meat to eat."

"Hehe, I really did give him meat today, you didn't break your promise to the child."
