Er Ya immediately got up and called Cheng Guangxi.
Looking at her mother like this, Ping An found it quite funny; she had never seen a mother like this before.
Cheng Guangxu did not receive the call; the operator told him to call back in half an hour.
After hanging up the phone, Er Ya called Zhang Hongmei again.
"Hongmei, the elders of the Hu family have invited us to come over tomorrow to discuss the engagement."

Zhang Weiyu also learned that Ping An still couldn't go to work tomorrow, so he dialed Ping An's number.
"Little brother, I'll give you a few more days off so you can get to know the girl better."

Guan Qiumei and her daughter Hu Peizhen came out to greet them. Seeing the man carrying large bags and small packages, Guan Qiumei was happy. It wasn't that they were short of things; it meant that the man was satisfied with her daughter and with the marriage.
The family entered the living room, and Liu Maocai coughed. "Let's go see Uncle."
Suga Akemi immediately smiled; this was a family that knew how to behave. "Okay, I'm sorry, the old lady hasn't been able to move for over ten years, so you'll have to go to her room."
"That's only right. We should pay our respects to the elders first when we come here."
Hu Jinlong had heard the commotion long ago, but he didn't have the strength to sit up. His broken body was causing his granddaughter-in-law and great-granddaughter so much suffering. But he couldn't die. As long as he lived, the country would support him and provide subsidies, so the mother and daughter wouldn't have to suffer.
When the Liu family entered the old man's room, they saw that although the furniture was ordinary, it was clean and spotless.

On Christmas Eve, we didn't stand on ceremony. Four stools were set out, but I didn't sit down. Instead, I stood behind my grandfather.
